  1. Read on the DH threads. Many find that iodine triggers thier DH. I don't know which foods naturally have iodine but some salts have iodine added.
  2. Fruit like strawberries , would be nice. Use a coconut based vanilla yogurt for a dip. Make the vanilla yogurt into a pi
  3. Once again, please note this is 4 years old. These posters are probably not still active. We have lots of great similar threads that are only days old.
  4. We just had this discussion yesterday. It's rediculous. A brewed beverage has no or barely any protein, first. This is just some Internet doctors theory.
  5. You are replying to 7 year old posts. Not likely these people are still active and will respond to you
  6. When he was going back at winter break, I took him to get some supplies ( shampoo & snacks). He wanted a gallon of Hawaiin punch and red Solo cups!
  7. Oh! I forgot to warn my kid about Everclear!
  8. Gee Eff has put the links for some food threads here lke what's for dinner: I'll probably lose my Celiac membership card for saying this but - I didn't stop eating dairy. I didn't drink milk but I still ate cheese & yogurt. I tried not to just eat large amounts of cheese but a slice on my sandwich or some on my chili was fine. You can...
  9. I "get" that they test gluten-free, but I don't feel comfortable with anything with barley listed. There are a couple of gluten-free beers made with barley, too. Before I was gluten-free, 2 Mike's were OK but 3 & my stomach hurt. I think that's just the acid & bubbles? Something about them that makes them hard on even a healthy stomach? Just...
  10. If you decide to try to educate this doc, be sure the info you give him is from medical journals or one of the Medical Celiac Centers like Chicago, Maryland, Columbia or Mayo. Don't give him info from places that are trying to sell a product like Enterolabs or a chiropracter with a big internet practice or posts on here. He will instantly dismiss those...
  11. FYI, a colonoscopy will not diagnose Celiac. Hopefully, they did an endoscopy ( the upper part of the intestines) at the same time?
  12. Might want to add this to the list: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ all gluten-free crockpot recipes made with easy to find ingredients.
  13. She'll do well. Let us know how it comes out. Will she have to wear "The Cone of Shame"?
  14. Greg, please note the person you are responding to has not been active in 5 years.
  15. If she read it right, that sounds negative. Get a copy and look for yourself. Too many people on here get read the wrong things or have the wrong test, etc. Different tests use a different measurment scal. the GI could be wrong.
  16. On your copy of the test, it should list the results number and the range. If you haven't gotten a copy, you need to get it.
  17. Have you been tested for Celiac? If you are planning to do that, you need to continue eating gluten.
  18. Glad you are having better weather. Just watch where you park that boat. Don't want to get it towed!

Yes coffee is gluten-free. This is someone saying something outrageous to get noticed, in my opinion. YOu can put anything on the internet and find someone who will "bite". Sometimes people can't drink coffee, sometimes people can't eat coconut or peanuts....it has nothing to do with gluten. Besides, how much protein could be in a brewed beverage...
  21. Have you been reading some of the recents posts on this forum? You can see lots of peoples experiences by reading along.
  22. If you are the girl going with my son this weekend, definitely tell him. He knows all about Celiac. And I hope he behaves himself! In high school, there was a girl that would go to the school dances and not eat at the restauraunts. The boys thought she was anorexic and it turned them off. When she finally told them why she didn't eat and that she...
  23. He must be really cute or good at something? I don't think you are dating him for his brains! But seriously...I don't know how long you have had to be gluten-free. If its just a couple of months, I might give him another chance. Sit down with him and tell him you don't think he understands your "illness". Its easy to treat with the right food...
  24. Hi. Are your trying to say your iPhone works on this forum?
  25. Exactly my experience, including the download that doesn't work.
