  1. Hi Bunnie! I was wondering about you. Sorry about the shingles. Do post indoor the influence. Trying to decipher it will be like a game. Glad we could bring a little laughter to Judy's day! I never had reactions to much of anything allergic like. But I did find that some of the cleaning liquids used in public places would burn/ itch my skin. I...
  2. Good plan! For the last several years, my mom is too crippled up to cook, my sister has had a broken oven (parents gave her money for a new one 2 years ago for Xmas) so most of the cooking, cleaning, etc is left to my family. I'm lucky that everyone can cook and even the boys will make the desserts or help. Now that I have to eat gluten-free, I don't want...
  3. A week or so after declaring bankruptcy, this cartoon of a couple, spent $60,000 on new furniture because they were going to lose all the other furniture in the bankruptcy auction. If I do something this kooky, you have my permission to make fun of me.
  4. Sorry for the scare and confusion. I agree, nothing should block a bathroom. The people I knew who had to climb over a couch that blocked the hall, were in thier early 50's. I figure they must have good knees. Also, used it as an excuse to eat out alot. Can't get to the kitchen or forgot which box the colander is in. May pack up my kitchen and...
  5. Yes. but these people got lots of good ecercise, climbing over the couches to get from the bedroom & bath to the front door.
  6. Will everything from the house fit in the apartment? Knew someone that didn't want to put stuff in storage until the got a house. They had 3 couches lined up and stacked with boxes. What a mess!
  7. I printed it. It sounds good or really awful but its worth a shot. I only have to be gluten-free but don't need to add alot of cheese to stuff because of fat & calories.
  8. Was thinking that Peter's strong intestines are probably due to 10 years gluten-free! Did you see that Theresa's auction got postponed? She & Joe got a judge to postpone it for a few weeks. I really think that giant gilded mirror leaning against her bedroom wall would look great in your new home! Also, saw that the auction co. expects all the...
  9. NO they are wheat. My kids thought they were made of styrofoam. The church says that Jesus used bread with wheat at the Last Supper so a host must have wheat. There are so many ways I could argue with that but the Pope's not taking my calls or Facebook friend request. So I guess we have to accept it.
  10. you could go to a dermatologist for the biopsy of your rash. I believe they take samples next to the lesion.
  11. I don't take the host & the gluten-free host isn't completely gluten-free its just lighter. I take a small sip of the wine. The wine counts the same as the host. But watch for the priest's cup. He puts a piece of host in his cup. Seems like the person with that cup always comes to my side of the church.
  12. Conversations like these are why we don't have more men in the psilly thread!
  13. <3 Thank you so much for being there for me..

  14. Forgot, get vitamin D checked too. Here's the problem. You may not be able to absorb much of the vitamins. Also, when taking iron, it must be by itself. That means no food, vitamins, tea ( just water) at least 1 hour before and 2 hours after. If it bothers your stomach, no dairy or grain. A little banana or apple. What do we need to do to get you tested...
  15. My teen boys have no real symptoms and are good size. They have had some odd blood tests and will be getting more. I'm afraid it will be hard to convince them if they need to be gluten-free.
  16. Oh Honey! I had this, too. Found out I was extremely anemic ( iron deficient) . You do not make the blood cells that carry oxygen properly. This makes your heart beat extra to get Oxygen to your body. It means you breathe hard to try to suck up O2 . When you have Celiac, your intestines can't absorb nutrients as well as a healthy body. I took massive...
  17. What the French toast? Why take a celiac panel if the results are really positive but don't mean you have celiac? That doc may be right that there is something else but unless I'm confused, Celiac is one issue. Some doctors don't realize there can be things other symptoms than GI issues. Hopefully, your GI doc is a bit more up on things. Make sure your...
  18. Tres cool! Mucho cool! Sehr cool! Very cool!
  19. Sorry to put a damper on this but a lot of people on here have not had good luck with gluten-free food at a hospital. In my case, my mother was just in a "good" hospital and the diabetic diet was full of carbs. You may need to be ready to provide all his food. Also, talk to the floor nurses, they may have access to a microwave and fridge. I would talk to...
  20. Went to the high school football picnic tonight. They hire this company that grill burgers, hot dogs, chicken and veggie burgers. It pretty good but this year, I can't eat it. So I brought a taco salad with some of the chicken Hub grilled last night. Yum! No one asked me why I was eating that. In fact, some were like " I wish I had thought to bring...
  21. That is a big one for me! If you are the only gluten-free one, hub could take kids out to eat. I also, try to have something that takes almost no effort. Sandwiches, grill them if you want. My hub is happy to have a pb&j. Keep some canned chili or leftover chili in the freezer. Defrost in micro and put over corn chips and cheese. Nachos! Scrambled...
  22. Did you email the company? They might want to know. They do ask for peoples opinions.
  23. There are corn " rice cakes". They are by Real Foods and called Corn Thins. I have found them in regular groceries with the rice cakes. Also, apples make a good base for lots of speads. If you cook, I have seen recipes for gluten-free crepes.
  24. She needs to do the endoscopy also. That looks at the top half. The colonoscopy looks at the large intestine. During the endoscopy, she should take many biopsies of the top part because you can have some healthy parts of the intestine and you want to catch the bad parts. The biopsy doesn't have anything to do with allergens. A pathologist will look at...
