kareng replied to sharps45's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Perfect! My 17 yr old told me the other day that he blames lots of reasons for not doing something on me and he hopes if someone mentions it, I'll back him up with " we don't discuss family issues. ". Saving money for a better stereo! -

ARCHIVED Bake In The Oven Chicken Risotto
kareng replied to irish daveyboy's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
David, I translated this to midwestAmericam made this just now. Delish! Hub is just finishing his second serving. Fortunately, he saved me some for my lunch tomorrow. I added garlic. We thought that some lightly cooked asparagus would be good added at the end. Also without chicken, it is an easy way to make risotto as a side for alot of people... -
They could have brought you a cup of plain DQ ice cream! Or with hot fudge! The plain ice-cream is gluten-free as well as a lot of toppings. Just nothing they mix like Blizzards. That's really mean!

ARCHIVED Heartland Gluten Free Pasta
kareng replied to sunnybabi1986's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Walmart charges by the bar code that is preprinted on the package. If its the same product put in 2 different places in the store, they will ring up the same price. For example, TP on an end cap with an $11.99 sign will ring up the same as the same TP on the regular shelf space with a $13.99 tag. Whether they ring up at the higher or the lower price depends... -

We do pretty good shared. They keep the gluten pretty much on the "glutenous counter". Its a learning curve. I try to keep an eye on what goes on in the kitchen. Think I have the 17 year old trained but then a new food comes into the mix. He didn't think about his frozen mozarella sticks and started to work on them on the wrong counter (the counter he... -
ARCHIVED A Question For Catholic Celiacs
kareng replied to brie1120's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Try to be at the first of the line. Your priest mught put some in a little cup for you at the altar. Ask. I always have to cut over to a different line because our side always has the one with the host in it and the whole choir first. We can't change where we sit - we always sit there! -
I think that when you are about 7 months, call or have your OB's nurse call the Nursing Supervisor for Labor & Delivery where you are going. Make an appt and talk to her about all of this. You can try to talk to the Dietary Dept too but I would just have your hub prepared to bring all your food. You usually aren't at the hospital long after delivery...

This is a list from a different part of the website. It is for US only. U.S. Products Not Containing Gluten Ingredients Some people suffer from an intolerance to foods containing gluten, which is a type of protein found in wheat, rye and barley. Neither wheat, rye, barley or oat ingredients are found in the Frito-Lay Products listed below (we include... -
ARCHIVED Doritos

I just looked at the list and the plain ones are fine. I tried to copy it but couldn't. They have a really long list so probably most flavors are fine. Read the labels. I also like Santitos which are only $2 per bag. Looks like the only Doritos that are not gluten-free are Nacho cheese and Spicy Sweet chili. -
ARCHIVED Cramps With Campbell Soup?
kareng replied to crampy girl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I haven't found any artificial sweetener with gluten. The sweetener can bother you but not because of gluten. I haven't found any cold cuts that have gluten. There might be a few but you can read the ingredients. I like Hormel in the brown box. Says gluten-free on it. My deli said they had one that was dusted with something before cooking so I don... -

I'm not discounting the fact that he has something wrong causeing the bed wetting. I'm just offering something that helped my boys. These are exercises to make his bladder bigger and the muscles stronger. Its hard to do during the school day because you have to go to the bathroom at set times. When you feel like you need to pee, wait. You'll have to...

ARCHIVED Diagnosis In Thailand?

I don't know much about this. If he still has stomach problems, a lot of people also have problems with milk. Don't take him off it unless he still has problems. Medications and vitamins can have gluten. If they are American made, I would be happy to try to call the companies for you. I know that is hard from where you live (time differences, long distance... -

Walmarts are selling gluten-free pastas now . Tinkyada is the brand I found there. I know there's a Walmart not too far from you. I live in KC. Missouri has a lot of Walmarts. They also have colored duck tape brand. This helps if you have 2 identical PB jars left out on the counter. We have a counter area next to the fridge, acxross the kitchen from... -

Some liqour stores here told Hub that it wasn't available. What they mean is that if the grocery can sell it , they won't. Pffbbb! Maybe you could email my friend Tony here that told me where they think it was recently delivered. Would be curious what he told you. I know one of the stores he said should have it, didn't. I had been there right before... -

I have my own margarine tub, PB, jelly. I got some tape that is red and utensils, toaster and cutting board that are red. I put the red tape on my stuff like PB. Was wondering how the food went. When we went to CA, I enjoyed having a PB & J as I rarely have them at home. Did you have some knowledge ahead, or did you just get lucky? gluten-free or not, it's cheaper and healthier for my family to eat breakfast in a condo.

I loved when my mom would fry slices of Spam in butter and get the edges all crispy! Taste a lot like bacon. Very salty. Not sure if it's gluten-free. And, as I already have plenty of delicious pork products like ham & bacon, don't need another. Here is a pig parts story. My grandma would be about 112 if still alive. She used to teach in a...
