  1. Kasey's mom- go here to see their products and which are casein free. i don't think there is any milk in the mix, but you add cheese to some of the mixes. they do use eggs however...but you could try a substitute. it would be a great product if you could use it. Open Original Shared Link
  2. i love those enjoylife snickerdoodles! the choc chip are pretty good too. and chebe--i made some italian cheese breadsticks with it last night that we dipped in pizza sauce. they were great... small victories

  7. Beth-you could try quinoa, amaranth, sorghum (its pretty mild) and some tapioca. Could you have that montina flour? I think it is only made of a rice grass--but I think it is a grass...not a "rice." You could check into that--I've had it in Manna from Anna, and it is good.
  8. that sounds great--happy you found something to enjoy! i had a great homemade lentil soup last night and some chebe garlic cheese bread with italian spices. yum--good meals rock

i also know a few here had a hide-a-scan done for their gallbladder too. jcgirl--can't believe the doc wanted to put your son on antidepressents. like that is a "cure-all!"
  12. that really stinks... hopefully in time he'll 'come around' and get it. it took my dh a while. ps--great examples Jnkmnky !
  13. I have been gluten-free for 6-7 mos and have had some improvements--but little to none as far as my fatigue and muscle pain. I have connected to a nurse practioner who is working to set up a celiac center/clinic in Indy. She was diagnosed 10 years ago... She told me 2 years is really a reasonable time table for many--that around that point you begin to...
  14. Do you guys have issues with nuts? I've been snacking on more nuts the last few days and I've gotten gas and a little crampy, which is rare for me. I definitely think there's a correlation for moi.
  15. Kimberly- There is a connection in some between Celiac and psoriasis. I've seen some articles on it. If you are interested in it, I can send you some info...
  16. Kris- Go here to read a great summary of the diet: Open Original Shared Link Basically, it is a more restrictive diet for those with crohn's ibd, unresponsive celiac...some parents put their children on it as a treatment for autism as well. It is a more restrictive diet than going just gluten-free, but has helped many people apparently, as well as quite...
  17. I understand why some support an HSA, I for one have done a lot of reading and have yet to be convinced for myself. Basically--I will spend a considerable amount of out of pocket $, but unless something catastrophic happens, I will not reach my full deductible... So in my situation, I may get up to a couple hundred in the HSA, but I will pretty much be...
  18. I would definitely get tested! Insurance can be such a %#$(# ! My employer is switching to an HSA, which means for my husband and I to get ANY coverage, we have to spend a $5,200 deductible each year...then we get our coverage. !
  19. blood test and biopsy
  20. I understand about the pricing! To save money--I try to buy in bulk when possible, pick up natural food coupons when available in a local store, buy fresh foods in season, stock up and freeze on sale meats etc, freeze fruit for later, make large quantities of baked goods and freeze for later... Instead of buying certain baked items I bake myself, which...
  21. I'll keep you posted Mariann....
  22. Yea Yvonne! You're on your way! No more gluten!
  23. Tinkyada is definitely my fav! I can't tolerate the corn pastas myself.
  24. Steph- "Oh Yeah" on the freezer girl... We bought a separate upright not long after my diagnosis. It didn't take me long to fill that baby up!
  25. I use different flour mixes for homemade..still working on a favorite. I can not get used to bean flours in my baked goods... I definitely include sweet rice flour in the mix when baking. My fav mix though for cookies is pamela's Ultimate Pancake/Baking mix--Definitely my favorite mix yet. Open Original Shared Link (Go to baking mixes, then Ultimate...
