  1. Depending on who you ask--its either October ( Open Original Shared Link ) or May ! I went with October while working my local grocery store to have in store events as soon as possible.
  2. Mariann- AH! I so relate on the psoraisis...mine has gotten worse since going gluten-free. I can't figure out why. Perhaps my body has more energy to attack my scalp now that it isn't attacking my intestines? I pretty much have it within my hairline...but I worry it will take off in other places. My father has had it terribly all over his body for years...
  3. see if you can get the exact term... is it this--Open Original Shared Link although that doesn't cause vomiting per se. could it be schatzki's ring? i wonder also b/c i have a friend with the same symptoms as you and is trying to figure out what's wrong with her.
  4. I would say you have your answer too. If you are going to be miserable and suffer great damage, the test may not be worth it! There are quite a few individuals on this site who diagnosed with only a diet challenge and not a biopsy. You would have to eat gluten for a matter of weeks--that could be serious!
  5. Don't know if you get celestial seasonings, but they label 'gluten-free' on their teas if they are ok.
  6. Kraft is one of the brands that will not hide any form of gluten in their label. So if a 'natural flavoring' is derived from wheat, it should be on the label. Could he have trouble with dairy or lactose? Maybe it was a delayed reaction to something else? Sometimes I have issues even when there is no gluten in sight. I guess there is always a risk for...
  7. Christine- Congrats! That's wonderful A friend of mine is pregnant and last week we were talking about how she is constipated now too b/c of it. Read this recent post--LOTS of advice for helping constipation... Open Original Shared Link
  8. Did any of you SCDers have any skin issues that the SCD cleared up--like excema, psoraisis? I read some info in one place that suggested the diet helps, but wondered if any of you had any experiences with that. I am dying to get rid of my psoraisis--or at least get it under control.
  9. Steph- Do you have a recipe for your homemade pesto?
  10. ew--i think i was confusing on my last post. i was thinking you meant pressure canning to be where you use a pressure cooker to process your jars...and a water bath as when you just process your jars in an open water bath pot. does that make sense? i definitely process my jars !!! huh, maybe it isn't much faster one way or another since the pressure cooker...
  11. Tammy- Its so great to see this thread up again. I really enjoyed it! Congrats on your latest canning adventure. Chili is a GREAT idea! I try and make several pots full in the fall--hoping enough to last through winter. White for me, regular for the hubby. However, canning a batch might be worth it. If I had the means I would and can as much food...

    ARCHIVED Skin Care

I got rid of all products with gluten in them as well. And I tell you what, once I started trying to figure out what was in all my products--I realized how many harmful ingredients are in them to begin with! New products I would recommend-- www.tropicaltraditions.com (all gluten-free--lotions, body scrubs etc.) www.californiababy.com (all gluten-free...
  14. I second on kinnikinnick's
  15. Yvonne- What is it about PMS? I keep getting so annoyed at people this week b/c of mine
  16. mandigirl-- you probably got more than you bargained for here, huh?! i also echo the sentiments on bleh to artificial sweetners. i go for real sugar or honey when i can. and i second tiffany that yeah, too much of the real stuff isn't good either and can cause a host of issues. at least it came from a plant and not a "laboratory" though !
  17. i have had horrible allergies since i was a kid--mold/mildew, dust, cats and some outdoor trees/pollen. i was constantly on antibiotics and nearly had to have the dreaded sinus surgery. shots were a huge help to me. i got them for quite a few years and it made all the difference in the world. and is better therapy than constant meds. my brother and his...
  18. Yvonne- sorry for other's ignorance maybe on the bright side we will emerge from this more patient and gentle people
  19. Great job Armetta!!
  20. Karen- so sad to hear how much you are still struggling. i pray you get answers soon. have you explored the SCD diet at all?
  21. Laura- I would definitely explore psoraisis as bobcatgirl mentioned. I have it all over my scalp--its really bad at present and can be described the same as yours. Go here to see 2 pics of rather bad psoraisis to compare. Sometimes they will ooze and bleed after picking. http://www.psoriasisfishcure.com/virtualto...asis_plaque.webp http://psoriasisartrit...
  22. they sound good..might have to try them. i am pretty much obsessed with midel's arrowroot cookies and nana's banana cookies. yum cookies!
  23. Donna- Adult tonsillectemies are awful! I had mine out in college--let's just say I had tears running down my face everytime I had to try to eat a popsicle so I could take my pain meds. I feel for him!! I guess he must have had a really hard time since they took his uvula too. I remember mine was so swollen from the surgery that for 2 weeks I had to...
  24. wow--what's the point of a "low" gluten?
  25. wow--wouldn't all those tests save a lot of money by preventing more tests and medications in the future...
