Michael- What a loss...I am so sorry. I pray comfort for you and your family. I echo advice given here too--eat before...take snacks. Things like veggies and fruit (plain) would of course be okay...
  5. Bonnie- I feel for you--I dealt with chronic constipation for years--until several months after going gluten-free. What a huge difference. So first question---are you positive you are totally gluten-free? Trying to eliminate dairy might help too. You'll have to experiement. I tried so many dang things--and what truly helped me was being gluten-free...
  6. I echo on Bragg's--I use it too. And take it with me places too
  7. I am a fan of 'cause your special gluten-free mixes too. Made my hubby a cake with them last month and it turned out great: Open Original Shared Link There are lots of brands out there--you might not have time to order via mail, so maybe some of these others brands will be in a local store: Namaste, gluten-free Pantry, 123 Gluten Free, Authentic Foods...

  12. ILOVEOMC- CYA's are hard...I guess its a matter of trusting the brand and if you or another has had a bad experience. Sure will be great when there is a defined/tested/enforced standard for gluten-free!

    ARCHIVED Question--

Great thoughts--I echo meeting new people--here on the boards and in my city...and having an opportunity to help others. And similar to Tiffany--trying new foods. Previously I didn't eat tomatoes, beans or mushrooms...now I do I love them beans!
  14. THE ANSWER: Okay, I just talked to the manufacturer. (201.843.8900) They said there are no gluten ingredients in the cookies--however, they are made in a facility with gluten grains, so they do not claim the product is gluten-free. So--I guess its up to you if you feel safe with them or not. For future reference, Glutano makes an oreo type cookie...
  15. I am pretty sure those aren't gluten free. Their gluten-free cookies are gingersnaps, arrowroot, mini choc chip, mini pecan. Their gluten-free products are clearly labeled and would say GLUTEN FREE, not just WHEAT FREE. What are the ingredients? Are they made from barley instead of wheat?
  16. So, I have been struggling hard the past couple of months with Celiac/related health stuff and my motivation...and am still waiting to "turn the corner..." But last night I was thinking about the positive effects Celiac has had in my life, besides the obvious health benefits. (Yes--there are some!) And I thought it might be cool to hear if any of you have...
  17. I cked on the sours earlier this year and they said they are gluten-free.
  18. I agree--theirs and Wild Oats are my favorite. I think they're both pretty comparable. What would I do without rice?
  19. Amanda- Great analogy on Nestle So glad you hooked up with a group and to hear the leader was so helpful. Pretty soon you will be helping others too!
  20. Ew, yeah...you do need to watch all those things. I checked on my shampoos/conditioners, lotions, soaps (face and body), all my makeup, especially lipsticks/glosses/lip balm, nail polish, hair gel, hairspray, toothpaste/mouthwash (although i haven't come across any with gluten at this point). All this probably sounds overwhelming...but I found it best to...
  21. That's classic! And I'm not afraid to say I'm 26 and still am into stickers too Ha!
  22. Praise God on that one... !
  23. celiac3270-- I came across that story too trying to search for info...
