You could still be gluten intolerant. It doesn't show up on tests, but it still causes those symptoms. If you are gluten free...stay that way for a good while and see if your symptoms improve. Bunch of people test negative but do way better gluten free. Nothing to lose Nate....hang in there and stick with it.

ARCHIVED Anxiety Attacks When Glutenend!
eatmeat4good replied to chili's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, you can use it only as needed. I was very concerned about it being habit forming. I read a lot before I took it. I had so much anxiety about taking Xanax that I had to take a Xanax just to calm down! But seriously, yes, my first Dr. was very concerned about the addictive nature of the Benzodiazepines. However, it has been miraculous for me. Tiny... -
ARCHIVED Things To Help Digestion?
eatmeat4good replied to healinginprogress's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had to take Promethazine for quite a while at first. Nausea medicine. I could feel everything and it hurt and I didn't want to eat when my intestines started "waking up". It helped a lot and I only needed it for a few weeks. Hey Mamaw? What digestive enzymes do you use? Thanks -
ARCHIVED Hearing Voices?

Thank you for this! I am sending copies to all the teachers and parents I know! -
I had really bad hay fever symptoms before I was gluten free. That would have been a severe. Now, I haven't had a bit of problems this Spring, while everyone around me is complaining of how bad the allergies are this year. I don't know if I'm going to get hit later with it, but for now I would have to say I have NO symptoms. Shocking! Only 6 months gluten...

ARCHIVED What Advice Should I Give My Husband?
eatmeat4good replied to Lunabell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Welcome! If he doesn't want to go back to eating gluten for the testing, at least have his vitamin levels and thyroid function checked. Yes, gluten can destroy not only our bodies but our relationships. I'm glad you guys figured it out...you will be much happier and healthier now. -
ARCHIVED Baking Desserts - From Scratch Or The Box?
eatmeat4good replied to WinterSong's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I haven't braved buying all of the different flour and experimenting. I bought coconut flour and almond flour and use Elana's Pantry website for most baking needs. I do like the recipe section here and have tried a few recipes that were really good. Like if you need a chocolate cake...and you do a search here....you can come up with all the recipes... -
What Does Everyone Eat For Breakfast?
eatmeat4good replied to plumbago's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had to leave dairy and eggs so that limited my breakfasts. Lately it's these cookies for breakfast or you could call em grainless granola bars if ya want. It is just perfect to grab two big cookies and a cup of coffee and head out the door. If you can have nuts that is. Nutty Cookies (Adapted from Elana's Pantry Chocolate Chip... -
Oh my God you guys! I really thought single spices would be ok. Do they not have to disclose the also processed on shared equipment with wheat? Really? And Spectrum oils are the ones I use too! Because they use glass bottles and not plastic for one thing, but if all the oil is on shared lines...that might be our problem too. Definitely we are getting...

ARCHIVED Vomiting With Weight Gain?
eatmeat4good replied to jcgirl's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
That is very scary. Are you feeding your child gluten free in spite of the negative Celiac tests? Sorry I wasn't clear on that. It sounds life threatening to me. I'd probably drive to the Cleveland Clinic and present to the ER there and tell them you cannot possibly wait for your appointment...you tried...but the vomiting is killing him and you are afraid... -
ARCHIVED Desperate For Some Gluten-Free Onion Rings!
eatmeat4good replied to Jenn624's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hey Love2travel? This sounds great! I have silly questions. Do you use any oil? on the pan? In the batter? And what temp would you bake them? High 400 or normal 350? I have never thought of this. If it really works, heck we could be doing this with our other veggies too. Like now I'm thinking about mushrooms, cauliflower...yum. I stopped frying ya know... -

ARCHIVED My Dear, Sweet, Teenaged Boy...
eatmeat4good replied to aeraen's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I love it when teenage boys are sweet to their mom's! I don't know about the Cadbury egg, but I read a few posts about it being gluten free and then one from someone who thought they got ill from it so I can't advise you on that. But I think your son is pretty cool! -
ARCHIVED Five Months Gluten Free -- No Improvement
eatmeat4good replied to kwix's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am so touched by what you wrote. I have entered the same grieving process that you are describing. I just couldn't possibly have written it as well as you did. I want to be care-free and loved going into new places to eat with friends and being able to talk about the food we were eating. Now I eat very plain and simple. That can no longer be part of my... -
ARCHIVED Extreme Sensitivity To Sounds?
eatmeat4good replied to Nads's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My son had extreme sensitivity to noise. He always told me to stop yelling and I would be talking in my normal tone of voice. I was so concerned for so long since his personality changed. Short tempered and gluten ataxia too which we just thought was family clumsiness. Right. He wouldn't be able to go to those kids places with lots of games and noise since... -

ARCHIVED Neurological Symptoms From Intolerances
eatmeat4good replied to superfob's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Another option is salicylate sensitivity. Almonds and coconut are very high in salicylates. Are you intolerant/allergic to aspirin or Ibuprofen? Some fruits are very high in salicylates. It can make you feel intoxicated, have asthma, and a huge inflammatory response. Depression and anxiety too. Neurological symptoms come with the ingestion of high amounts... -
ARCHIVED Post- Gluten
eatmeat4good replied to joej1's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
That was true for me...I was very tired and slept a lot. Even though I knew I was healing, the fatigue seemed to last for at least a month post gluten. There would be some days where I was more energetic than others, but sometimes just wiped out. Along about the third month, I was able to function almost normally. So yes, I think your body is healing... -
ARCHIVED TIAs/Neurological Testing
eatmeat4good replied to Mothering3's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes, I would. If you can see a neurologist they may be able to help you now that you have been diagnosed with Celiac. That is too serious to make the decision about stopping aspirin therapy on your own. But I wouldn't hold my breath that you will be able to find a neurologist knowledgeable about Celiac. But maybe if you can find a smart one, they will be... -
ARCHIVED Any Ways To Stop Scratching?
eatmeat4good replied to ndw3363's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I use Walgreens brand of Pain Relieving Ointment. It is Benzocaine and it numbs the lesions for a short time. It is no cure, but it brings some relief. I will say that having given up eggs and dairy due to possible iodine content activating my lesions, I am healing much better. I don't enjoy eating this way, but I wasn't really healing all that well until... -
ARCHIVED Vitamin Testing

ARCHIVED Alpha Lipoic Acid
eatmeat4good replied to kenlove's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I take it. I don't know that I can tell what it helps with, but after reading about all the benefits, and a Physician's assistant also recommended it, I added it to my vitamin routine along with DMAE. That is interesting that you can tell it is helping your muscles. Please post if that pain goes away on resuming Alpha Lipoic Acid. It will be interesting.
