  1. Several times now when I've gotten glutenated I have had this feeling of being boxed in. I thought it was anxiety but now I'm thinking maybe it is depression. I feel as though I'm trapped and there is nothing that can be done. I can't take a nap and sleep it off because my mind feels very active at these times. It's a sort of mental claustrophobia, at least...
  2. Congratulations! My mom is 74 and in the same boat. She went gluten free in January. I wish I could get her online so the two of you could compare notes, it would probably be very encouraging for her (and you ). She is a little disappointed she isn't healing as fast as I am.
  3. I have TMJ too. It started at the same time I trace my becoming Celiac back to so I believe it could be related.
  4. I made screen shots just encase. I imagine tons of folks did the same. That's how it goes in the viral world.
  5. Currently I use Zuzu (which i buy at my health food store) and Joelle (also called my mineral glitters) which I but online.
  6. Thinking of medical ID's check these out. I plan to get one ASAP. Open Original Shared Link
  7. 1) Udi's Bread 2) Almond milk (I have a dairy problem too) 3) Dried Beans 4) Lara Bars or Kind Bars 5) Dr Mcdougall's Tortilla or Spring Onion soup (for lunch at work) 6) Corn Chips 7) Dr Lucy's Cookies 8) Amy's Medium Vegetable Chili 9) Amy's gluten-free Dairy free frozen dinners 10) Bananas
  8. We can only hope that this will result in restaurants taking people with food allergies more seriously.
  9. I made screen shots of the post and current comments. I posted this topic myself not realizing someone else had posted. It was just such a shock I rushed to post as fast as I could.
  10. A chef at a nice restaurant posted that he thinks gluten intolerance is made up. He went on to say he tells people his pasta is gluten free and he's never received a complaint. This makes me even less comfortable eating out. I'm not sure if it's ok to post the link to the man's comments. Please let me know if it is and I'll post a link. Here is a quote...
  11. There has to be someone we could all write to in order to make it public that this show was mis-information.
  12. I really hope the show gets enough complaints that the producers decide to revisit the topic with some good information.
  13. Hey, good luck on going vegetarian. I've recently started a blog, glutenfreechef.wordpress.com and am updating it daily with recipes and meal ideas. :)

  14. Thank you. I might just take you up on some recipes soon.
  15. Thanks for the link.
  16. Thank you all! I really appreciate all the insight and support. You have been very encouraging. Hopefully I can add back dairy sometime. I can tolerate beans very well. (knock on wood) I want to go vegetarian both for the animals and my health.
  17. I've never eaten a lot of meat but I've always eaten some. So I have just a few reservations about going meat free. My father likes to cook and to him it's not a meal without meat. He cooks once maybe twice a week. I'm wondering if it would be too much of a burden on him (the only gluten eater in the household) for me to also eliminate meat from my diet...
  18. I've never met anyone who was offended by Weird Al. In fact I know a lot of people who take their children to see him in concert. I went to see him play at an amusement park. I never would have expected someone to complain about him. I'm white and nerdy and I loved the song with that name. Liked it so much I bought the t-shirt. But that is me and Weird Al...
  19. It's going to get better! You are on the right path! I'm pretty new on this path too so I can't offer much advice but I can send hugs to you my friend.
  20. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day and get lots of big tips tonight. My first gluten-free Birthday is next Sunday. I plan to shop and watch movies.
  21. Thank you both. So glad to read of your improvements IrishHeart. I hope your friend starts improving soon Yolo.
  22. Thank you for responding Yolo. If I just need a standard blood sugar test I have several family members who have the blood sugar test machines. Everytime I've tested it I've been normal. Dandylion root tea sounds lovely.
  23. I'm fairly new so I'll just give you a little advice. I'm sure some of the folks who have been here longer can be of more help. If you haven't already, get rid of wooden spoons and old plastic ware in your kitchen, also any scratched no-stick pans. Most folks on here recommend shopping the perimeter at the grocery store. You want to eat a lot of fresh fruit...
  24. My brother has type 1 diabetes. Several other family members have type 2. I have noted for several years now that sometimes my urine smells like pancake syrup. I asked my brother and he said he had never noticed his urine smelling sweet but his nose isn't the best. I had tried googling it about a year ago and found no information. Just now I googled and found...
  25. Just seeing the title of this thread made me smile. I saw him in concert during the "White and Nerdy" Tour. That man is in fantastic condition. I was thinking, "I hope I'm that energetic at his age. Of course I'm not that energetic now." Weird Al rocks!
