  1. Hear that, everybody? we're all getting liquid gold for Christmas! whoohoo!!!
  2. And they are a hit even with the WEs. I got my mom making them. And they freeze well. (but none ever make it to the freezer....) Hope you like them! Just watch them around 8 mins...oven temps may vary on the time to cook.
  3. Well, when you said this earlier in the thread: Lol, thank you IrishHeart! I'm SURE he has a hard time relating and it's frustrating for both of us. He doesn't understand how awful it feels. Even though the reaction to CC is milder in comparison, it still sucks!! I will share those articles with him. I just assumed you had shared the articles and...
  4. "Leaky gut " when mentioned in terms of celiac disease and autoimmunity is not at all "nonscientific". Have you read anything by Dr. Alessio Fasano? Here are just two of many pub med articles. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link An hypothesis is defined as "an idea or theory that is not proven but leads to further study or discussion...
  5. The latest guidelines suggest that a 14- day challenge would raise anitbodies enough for testing. I just read this latest pub med article. I am pretty sure it is the same one Colleen has linked to as I shared it with her. How important is a celiac diagnosis to you? Only you can decide what to do, I'm afraid. There's no pressure from any of us...
  6. You're never alone, hon. I wish I could tell you why you are still burning in that area, but a pelvic scan is a good idea to help rule out some things. Inflammation could be causing this problem and honestly, probiotics reduce inflammation in the gut, so maybe if you stay on them for a bit, you will see more progress overall. Do let us know how you...
  7. I am so, so happy to hear this news. I am glad the vits are helping.
  8. I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual.
  9. We had a lobster/clam/bake with corn and potatoes on the 4th. (glad to know that shellfish is not trying to kill me anymore..) whoohoo! Last night, we did some grilled burgers with carmelized onions, sweet potato fries and haricots verts. karen Today is quinoa and black bean stuffed peppers. (and maybe just a wee bit of ice cream) Monday- cedar planked...
  10. I am a huge probiotics pusher on here and I highly recommend them. Damaged guts = we need to balance the gut flora. You may feel "off" at first taking them, but it is just the "bad guys" being shoved out. (that's a really simple explanation, but you get what I mean!) Upon diagnosis, I had no detectable good bacteria in my gut. That's impossible...
  11. found this happy dancing elephant just for you!
  12. I get the pre-cut pineapple sometimes and have never had an issue with it. The larger grocery chains use a machine to core and cut the pineapple.
  13. RE: Gluten is addictive and acts as an "opiod"? Celiac medical experts give a nod to anecdotal reports of gluten withdrawal but point out there’s no scientific data or research that substantiates the condition. Nothing in the medical literature supports a true gluten-withdrawal syndrome, says Dr. Guandalini. (director of the U, of Chicago Celiac research c...
  14. If you are strictly gluten-free, I am not sure why you would trigger DH now. The blisters are active or form when gluten is consumed. EDITED TO SAY; OKAY, SORRY I just re-read your post and I see you are NOT gluten-free...so you should probably get tested. i HAVE SEEN YOU ON THE FORUM FOR A WHILE, SO I THOUGHT YOU WERE gluten-free ALREADY. My...
  15. You got that right, D! "I think we love bacon because it has all the qualities of an amazing sensory experience. When we cook it, the sizzling sound is so appetizing, the aroma is maddening, the crunch of the texture is so gratifying and the taste delivers every time." Alexandra Guarnaschelli
  16. I looked for the receipt...found it!..it was a whopping $14.99. So, just about 7.50 a pizza....YO SKI...how's my math? lol
  17. hmm....that's unusual. I make vanilla bean all the time and it's just a custard base.
  18. This looks dangerous. lol I read the comments--and I agree about adding some sour cream. My friend with the G F bakery uses sour cream in all baked goods and it truly makes a difference in the moist factor. Someone---can you make these--and report back? I am not indulging right now, but I can live vicariously through others. Open Original Shared...
  19. Honestly, if I thought my friend was capable of thoroughly cleaning her appliances AND she had made many things in it since the recipe with the flour (so it has been washed many many times) I would say that I would eat it. My ice cream maker has a metal bowl and a hard plastic paddle. I can't see where any "trapped wheat flour" could hide. I have...
  20. I am so glad you found one at a very decent price!! I love my Koolatron cooler, too!
  21. And as an added bonus, you can rest assured, the Gluten Free Watchdog just tested this product and it was <5ppm.
  22. Indeed....it's in BJs here in Florida and it is a double pack, though, not triple. My friend told me about it and so, the hubs and I gave it a try. I did not get my hopes up as I have not been thrilled with frozen pizza (even in the "old days") but I was willing to keep an open mind! I'll say this, it's better than any frozen G F pizza I have tested...
  23. Those are all great responses!
  24. We have a treatment for our disease. We can get well and be happy and healthy! . Sadly, there is no cure for blatant ass%$@#ry. She will always be afflicted. Poor thing.
