IBS is a symptom of something. How long did you do an elimination diet for? Do you keep a food log?

ARCHIVED I Really Need Help :-(
shadowicewolf replied to dani nero's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Glutenings can last for quite some time. However, from what you've said have you had your appendix or your gallbladder checked? -
Anxiety can cause physical symptoms as well. I can see going down a flour isle as being an issue. What if a person who came before you dropped a bag of flour and it sent out a cloud of flour? That sort of thing i can see. As for feeding cattle grain, from personal experience, the grain is sometimes dusty and can do the same as a bag of flour if, say...

ARCHIVED Eggrolls

No stores in my area sell them. Oh well. It also looks like they are processed in a shared facility. Just a heads up. Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Hello - New To The Board
shadowicewolf replied to lcole's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
The first few weeks or so a person generally goes through a gluten withdrawl. It takes time. Yes, all first degree relatives should be tested and, if negative, retested every two or so years as celiac is genetic. -
ARCHIVED Symptoms Worse After Starting The Diet?
shadowicewolf replied to Raeanne's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You are probably going through gluten withdrawl. -
In the air? Unless you are in an area where flour flies, then that probably isn't the cause. Both the plate and the computers can be explained as CC on the table or computer. The fact that it cleared up outside also leads me to believe that it may be a stress reaction.

Unfortunately, that is also part of the learning experience. There are times when it gets to ya really bad. Good for the boyfriend! That was nice of him -
ARCHIVED Gluten In Korean Foods?
shadowicewolf replied to dk3790's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Soy sauce is generally made with wheat. There are kinds without it though (tamari is one kind, san-j produces a line of it). Barley is a no no, as it has gluten in it. -
ARCHIVED Could This Be Related...?
shadowicewolf posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Heads up warning, this question is mainly for the ladies on here... Could i have been cc'd somewhere? My cycles have always been normal and predictable. I also get cramping in between cycles as well. However, I have noticed here recently that it has gotten a bit worse (no worse then my cycle gets at any time, but still)..It also acts up at night.... -

ARCHIVED Birthday Candles And Icing
shadowicewolf replied to tigerlily6200's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
You could make your own. I don't know how to make the gel type of frosting, but the regular is pretty easy to do. Make up a batch, take a gallon size bad, snip the end in the desired size, and have fun. I had to make a birthday cake once and did it that way and it came out pretty well. I agree, candles should be fine. -
ARCHIVED Skin Prick Food Allergy Tests - Large Flare But No Wheal?
shadowicewolf replied to greenbeanie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Only if used by themselves. If you get a hive and have symptoms otherwise, then, to my understanding, you are allergic to whatever item it is. -
1. What blood work was ran? I ended up with a positive on the blood test (iga ttg) and a negative on the biopsy (done four weeks gluten free). My symptoms, however, were severe (constant stomach issues, dropping 40lbs in a little over a month, etc) and resolved on the diet. I also had both genes. It shouldn't. The top doctors in this field suggest that...

ARCHIVED Regular Vegetables Vs. Organic Vegetables?
shadowicewolf replied to SBlack's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Random question... do you rinse stuff after buying it? Take a sink full of water and add some white vinegar to it (I can't remember the measurements). This will make a wash that will clean any veggies/fruit really well. However, i am not sure if white vinegar is made from corn. Same principle with this one as well: Open Original Shared Link -

Remove the oatmeal for a while. Some cannot tolerate it this soon after a dx.
