  1. Eat whole foods, avoid anything proccessed is one way to keep prices down. Pots and pans, as long as they are not scratched should be fine. Backing sheets can be covered with foil. Colenders should be replaced, as should wooden spoons and plastic utenciles; stainless steal is fine.
  2. The last of my mac and cheese and broccoli.
  3. When i was first going at it, i would juice an apple and carrot (1 apple to 3 carrots) to get my vitamins in. Don't know if it helped any though.
  4. Yeah, doctors tried to tell me that about my gallbladder as well. You have no stones and your blood work is normal. >.> Wasn't until they ran a more spacific test about 5 months later that it was discovered . They aren't perfect.
  5. You can live without the pepsi, drop it then try again at another time.
  6. I understand the feeling. I got to the point where i too was afraid to eat anything (still kinda there >.> wish i could just stop it but nooooo). My doctors know about it ("Just try to eat something") and slowly (very slowly) i've been adding things back into my diet.
  7. Oh how i miss having wood burnings stoves, don't miss getting the wood and hauling it in though. Left over mac and cheese with broccoli... sooooo goooooooood.
  8. You aren't to blame for this! You had no idea! Quite frankly, I had no idea that gluten was my issue. Took it out and wow, this is normal?
  9. I agree with the nightshade idea. I, on occasion, will only eat potatos out of that family. THe rest? Forget it, i've pretty much cut it out of my diet. I just recently cut soy too (as i believe it caused me some bloating). I'll give it a while before i try it again.
  10. Ohhh i'll have to try it then when i get my hands on some flour.
  11. mac and cheese seems to be popular XD At any rate, i need to get a crock pot... -sigh- And i might have to replace to of my cooking pots... Lets just say, i had put them in the dishwasher before, added some boosting agent that i had not used before without reading the lable, and yeah now i have two pots (plus a lid) without any enamel on them ...
  12. Yeah, thats soooo not normal after having the gallbladder out (had mine out... a little over a year ago). Get tested, stay ON gluten until all testing is done. Regardless of the results, after the testing is over, try the diet.
  13. It sounds like you might have it. Stay on gluten until all testing has been done, then go off it. It is also genetic, there are two genes commonly found within 30% of the population that has been noted to be connected to celiac. But, yes, with your issues, i would suggest going in and asking to have a full celiac panal done (which for the life of me...
  14. Mac and cheese and broccoli :3 My stomach is finally back to normal (aka not trying to kill me rofl), so i wanted something comforting. I had made beef soup last night, added too much cornstarch. It was edible but O.o weird....
  15. i might try and make those one of these days (sans the lemon juice, i can't stand it). I wounder if i could turn it into bars? Backing pan? Maybe it'd work?
  16. oh yes. Before going gluten free i had massive "D" and vomiting. When i "Cheated" I got major "C" (No fun), and now, whenever i get it, i retrace back to the last thing i ate. Not to mention the brain fog (uuuuugh so bad for a college student with homework!), cramps, mild headaches, and major tiredness.
  17. Honestly, just don't eat after midnight, and you'll be fine. You got an early one (which is very good for blood tests), so no worries about fasting there. You can have a nice big breakfast afterward.
  18. OH wow that turned out really good
  19. I'm feeling a whole lot better (though the "C" is still sort of there). I guess it just took time to get out of my system. thanks
  20. Eating a lot of whole foods will decrease that bill quite a bit. I "splerg" only on my pasta, chex, and maaaaaybe some breadish item. But this is rare.
  21. All the schools i've been through won't give out pain meds without consent from a parent first. What about art supplies (if she takes art), and home ec. (backing/cooking)?
  22. The stuff they knocked me out with was brutal (I too don't react well to those type of drugs). Last thing i remember is they put this bit thing in my mouth and i was trying to swallow (dry throat) and then the room starting to spin and flip. Don't remember anything well until i'm back in the room they had me first in. Ugh, do not want to do that again...
  23. Oh wow, thats expensive for bison. I can get it here (if i wasn't burnt out on it) for $5 something a lb. At any rate, I payed.... $5.00 for some ground round yesterday (not my butcher sadly, i had to get it at king soopers). They had some fresh ground in case, but i wasn't gunna bother, it was next to gluteny items O.o Chicken, if i remember right...
  24. Exactly! Also, can you eat tree nuts? They're loaded in protien.
  25. Well, thats when you go and learn. You have to do so sometime. To be honest, I spend much less than i did when i was on gluteny foods (with meal plan). I don't eat a lot of processed gluten free foods too. As of right now, I'm in an on campus apartment with my own kitchen. I spend... maybe $150 on food a month? This is along with cleaning stuff and what...
