  1. i too had vit d deficiency.
  2. sounds like u need a new doctor. if u feel better being gluten-free i would stick to it regardless of what any limited test may say because i think ur experiences speak volumes of what ur body wants. best wishes!
  3. I have sent private messages to several people. I have not heard back. Is this a technical issue? Is it that people prefer the boards to PMs? Did I just manage to message several people who are not on the board any more? Is it something else? :?
  4. i can so relate. i tested with a bunch of allergies. but after some reading it made sense. since gluten destroyed our digestion food leaks out and that includes proteins so the body thinks they are going to hurt us like a virus instead of realizing it is just food that needs digested and got away from where it should be. then we have allergic reactions. we...
  5. i can relate. only a regular workout makes me so hungry. sometimes even when i do not work out i am so hungry. it is not tied to my menstrual cycle i had that before and this is different and has lasted for weeks if not months. i drink a lot of water so that does not seem to be it. it does not seem to matter what i eat or when it does not seem to help. i...
  6. when i went gluten-free it did not seem to take long for my stomach to be less bloated. what i thought was fat seemed to be me being bloated. ironically being on the so called anti-inflammatory diet seemed to mess me up and i went off it and bloated back up. though spring and summer seem to be a problematic time of year for my health which i do not understand...
  7. I have had a similar problem. I went gluten free after I got diagnosed and learned that was the root of my problems. I dropped weight like crazy especially since I was taking it easy on all grains since I was not sure what I could handle. My stomach had been huge and I had looked pregnant and could not fit in my clothes. My stomach decreased when I went gluten...
  8. I do not have an official celiac's diagnosis because my doctor and I were not going to risk further exposure to gluten given that I had gluten intolerance, positive gene tests, and other positive tests I did not understand. I would appreciate someone stepping up to help offer support for those with celiac's. However, you are right in that there would definitely...
  9. Yes manganese is different from magnesium. I tried to find a nice comparison website but I could not find one.
  10. I agree sounds like you are at least gluten intolerant. I have gluten intolerance and celiac's minus the official diagnosis because my doctor and I did not want to expose me to gluten for the test given the false negatives and the obvious harm gluten was doing to me at that point. My boyfriend heard about the benefits of going gluten-free, so he tried going...
  11. For me, I do not worry about an official diagnosis since the test has false negatives and requires exposing oneself to gluten which is harmful if one has celiacs. That just seems totally illogical to me. I think if you feel better off gluten that is what is important regardless of what the official name or cause is. I am in a similar situation where I...
  12. I agree that if going gluten free helps it is probably worth sticking to it. The tests have their problems with the false negatives and not having a significant result yet having terrible symptoms and like you said gluten sensitivity would not show up. I agree I hope you feel better. Hopefully going gluten free again will help. Sorry that you have...
  13. i was thinking you could try the elimination diet and keep a food diary. allergy tests have false negatives, so they are not totally reliable. they might not be your best bet since you do not have the money for them. the nice thing about a food diary is all the information you get. it can be challenging though. you did not describe your diet but my impression...
  14. wow that is so awesome! go red robin! i am so impressed. i have had mostly good experiences going out (tgi fridays, texas roadhouse, wolfgang puck, red lobster) but nothing like this. i just figure cross contamination is sadly inevitable - obviously not. wow. *still in pleasant shock*
  15. i hope you feel better and get relief. one AI is one too many multiple ones are horrible. i agree with the other poster other food allergies seem to flair up the AIs. i understand what you are saying about being depressed and frustrated and having AIs ruin your life. i do not mind having a special diet, but I want to feel better. that is discouraging that...
  16. i think my doctor put me on metronidazole. i was off and on antibiotics and i just kept getting infections. my immune system was so weak. i think the antibiotics just made things worse since they killed good bacteria too. going gluten free was the best thing that helped with making the constant infections go away. the antibiotics just seemed to make me sicker...
  17. that is so great. a true gluten-free success story. it still amazes me how gluten can make people anxious. i am so happy you can get your freedom and life back and go out and celebrate with your family. best wishes!
  18. i have also had ups and downs since my diagnosis several months ago. i think part of the problem for me is they keep finding other intolerances and allergies, so i cannot figure out what to eat. it is made worse by not having clear reactions where i can connect symptoms to problem foods. i am still in the recovery and healing process so your question is one...
  19. gluten intolerance and celiacs have a lot of symptoms that are not gi symptoms. i have had periods when i felt better and worse before i got the right diagnosis. i am still trying to figure out what i should eat and what all is going on and how to best handle it. however, i felt better and had symptom relief when i went gluten-free. in some ways i like the...
  20. Thanks :-D
  21. the nice thing about the tests is when the symptoms do not seem to connect to the foods then you can know what to avoid. that is what happened to me i was clueless my favorite and staple foods were making me sick. i had casein and gluten tested. i am curious about soy and corn intolerance. i am allergic to soy. i was negative for cross reactivity to corn...
  22. what is the super super gluten free diet or where can i find it? congratulations on having better results and healing. best wishes!
  23. i can relate to your frustration. i have also been gluten-free for a year and i still have a lot of symptoms. other than milk sometimes not seeming to agree with me and not liking the taste - i was clueless that i was casein (milk protein) intolerant. i ate a lot of cheese and yogurt and some ice cream and never knew. i have heard that casein and gluten intolerance...
  24. before gluten intolerance diagnosis, i had regular periods. as my symptoms worsened, my periods became irregular and i would feel hot and i would get diarrhea. after diagnosis and going gluten-free, i did not get diarrhea as much or as bad. i had some rapid weight loss in the past couple months being on a healing diet that is sugar, lectin, and grain free...
  25. i think grains are tough while still healing. there is also the issue of is a product truly gluten-free if not there is still the exposure of some gluten and if many products contain gluten then it adds up. another issue is if you have cross reactivity to the grains in which case to your body it might as well be gluten because it will act in the same way...
