  1. There ARE some pizza places that do gluten-free right, but Domino's is not one of them. The gluten-free pizza place near me has a family member with celiac so they know about CC. They make their gluten-free pizza in a seperate room using seperate pans, utensils and sauce from a seperate pot. The Udi's frozen pizza is good. Against the Grain makes a totally...
  2. One of the weird things about this is that after we have been off gluten for a while, our reactions to it get stronger. You are probably getting CC from the cutting board and plastics. At first it didn't bother you because you had eliminated enough gluten for your body to go, "WOO HOO!!" But now it's saying, "Hey, wait a minute, I'm still getting traces of...
  3. I have had unexplained jaw pain with a lump under the jawbone and some swelling. I get the short sharp pains (I tell people it's "biting me"), and those pains are sometimes in the jaw, sometimes in my ear, and sometimes near my eye. On occasion the pain radiates to the back of my neck. Sometimes that's all I get is the "bites". Sometimes I get a deep ache...
  4. I think eating just fruits, veggies, and apple juice might be prolonging the problem. Those will give anyone D if that's all they are eating. Get some chicken or turkey and eat that. Maybe some potatoes.
  5. You know, maybe that is the problem. I'm not a big fruit fan so I don't really eat it. Blueberries are the only ones I really like. Since I went gluten-free I haven't eaten any fruit except bananas and they're not really very sweet.
  6. " At least he's happy though." And that's all that matters. Cherish him while you've got him and give him a hug from me.
  7. I love old tractors. My Dad had nine of them. And I love jazz guitars. I have 14 of them. This is one of my favorite videos of all time.
  8. Oh yeah, you need your own butter and condiments too. A knife that dipped into the peanut butter or mayo, then spread onto bread and dipped back into the jar has just contaminated the whole jar.
  9. Yes, it is VERY common to take a giant step forward and then take several steps back. I think most, if not all of us did. It seems that our bodies are giving us a signal that we CAN feel really good again, but it takes a while to heal and sometimes at first we will react to foods tha should be perfectly safe for us. I myself felt so good a few weeks in that...
  10. I agree that the sound of some of these old machines is music to the ears. Open Original Shared Link

  12. What an adorable baby! Oh, it breaks my heart when I hear on the news, it seems weekly, about all of the poaching going on. I swear, if I ever hit the bazillion dollar lottery, I would do something to try to save them all.
  13. NutritionGuy, I heard this doctor on a radio program quite a while back. Can't remember now if it was People's Pharmacy or some other NPR show. It was so interesting. It sure seemed that his nutritional choices kept him alive much longer than if he had just kept eating the way he used to. Also, I've got to ask you based on your name and the knowledge...
  14. And don't forget that tea (regular, not herbal) is full of tannin. And the probiotics will help, but you need to take them what?, a couple of hours before or after taking your antibiotics. If you take your antibiotics with food, it's OK. Some folks say you should take probiotics with food too, but I have read that they work better of you don't. I take...

  16. Steph, I am a big believer in organic! Last time I tried blueberries they were fresh organic ones. It didn't work then, but at that time ANYTHING not organic was giving me trouble. Lately I have been able to eat non-organic produce so I thought I'd give these a try. It's so hard to even get organic stuff in this little town. There are places that have boxes...
  17. I've been feeling better and gaining foods back. Last night I tried blueberries, my favorite fruit. These were USA blueberries from the grocery store. I washed them thoroughly, cut the big ones in half, then cooked them on the stovetop until they were juicy. I didn't add sugar or anything. Just ate them as is. A few minutes later I had stomach pain. Within...
  18. There are two components to dairy that might be giving you problems - lactose or casien. Things like milk and ice cream and yogurt have both. Things like hard cheeses and butter only have the casien. Maybe try giving up all dairy for a while and then add butter and cheese back to see if they bother you?

Another good way to do veggies is to puree them and add them to spaghetti sauce. You can't taste them at all because of the spices.

Sweet potatoes have a ton of nutrition. If you don't like them you can always try sweet potato fries, or get a gluten-free crust and make sweet potato pie. If you like pimpkin pie, you will like this. Also, maybe you would like raw broccoli or cauliflower or baby carrots with ranch dressing? I'm not a big veggie fan either, but these are things I actually...
  21. That salad wash is probably a citrus wash made from corn. I won't eat any salad in a restaurant because I am highly intolerant to corn. When we have multiple intolerances it is hard. There may be no gluten CC, but there might be corn or whatever other thing bothers us CC. I got lucky at Outback a couple of weeks ago, but I know that any time I eat at...
  22. Yeah, mine is getting old so sometimes she misses the box. I have a large trash bag covered with newspapers under it now to catch "the overflow".
  23. Another thing: cats like to rub their sweet little faces on things. When I'm petting mine, she does this and I can even sometimes feel a little wetness from her lips. If your cat rubbed her face against yours in the night, you probably got directly glutened. Wonderful little creatures, aren't they? They trip us when we are walking, they cough up hairballs...
  24. Yep. The itchy and swollen is more than likely an allergic reaction to the gluten on the cat. And the runs, well, my cat often gets in my face at night - literally. If your cat brushed up against your lips and you licked your lips, it could happen. Or you might have touched the cat, then rubbed your mouth or even covered your mouth when you yawned. OR, your...
  25. I noticed an Amazon thread came up but I didn't click on it until Tarnalberry said they didn't have it. They supposedly carry it but the site says they are out of it right now. Sorry. Didn't mean to get your hopes up.
