ARCHIVED Update: Sciatic Nerve Vs Planters Fasciitis
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Goodness, like I have mentioned here before, I saw myself in a wheelchair. I had so many issues buit one by one I have been able to find an answer. I thought this went too long by what the doc said but reading here I see some of you have waited even longer. Aly1, I do hope you get better and I wish for the day you can leave that wheelchair for good. Thank... -
ARCHIVED Update: Sciatic Nerve Vs Planters Fasciitis
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
What the podiatrist told me is that celiac effects everything about your body.....joints, ligaments, everything and that is how he made the connection. -
ARCHIVED Update: Sciatic Nerve Vs Planters Fasciitis
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This is where things all messed up for me right now. I was on a thyroid med for over 6 months, a iodized med docs were using to try and shrink a growth on the thyroid despite the fact that my thyroid tests were fine. Meds made me sick going on them and then I adjusted. It was actually in this time that the planter's fasciitis started. I then was taken off... -
ARCHIVED Dandruff Shampoo For Scalp
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I did check this out and compared to what I am currently taking. The only thing my Nerve Support supplement lacks is the B5. I am finding that the drandruff shampoo and the T-gel conditioner is working. -
ARCHIVED New And Already Emotionally Exhausted
AVR1962 replied to Adalaide's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You are going to go thru alot of emotional ups and downs and there may be times where you wonder if the diet is worth it. The cravings may call your name and you may cry BUT once you get past the withdrawls and you actually see for yourself how much better you feel, I can guarantee you that you will never go back and you will not miss these foods anymore... -
ARCHIVED Hubby Doesn't Want Me To Talk About It Anymore
AVR1962 replied to Aly1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It is very hard to understand celiac and I am wondering if maybe your system might need some more time to heal, I didn't see how long you have been gluten-free. It is a slow hard process in the beginning and it might be that some of what you are eating still might be bothering your system even if it is not gluten. Keeping a food diary might be helpful. ... -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Diet Differences
AVR1962 replied to tennisman's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think with many of the cases where you hear of people going off gluten and making life-long improvements with days, these are people with an intolerance to gluten but not celiac. Looking back at my own situation I can see where it would have been very hard to label of earliest systems as a child as celiac but it was there and I had this and that coming... -
ARCHIVED Update: Sciatic Nerve Vs Planters Fasciitis
AVR1962 posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Finally got in to see the doc about my foot and he said it was planter's fasciitis. He is going thru my history, said usually this is brought on from a change in weight, exercise routine or shoes but made no connection. So I asked him if it could be connected to celiac, BINGO! Doc told me that there is more awareness being paid to celiac than ever before... -
ARCHIVED Dandruff Shampoo For Scalp

Thanks, I appreciate your reply. Today I was looking at various shampoos and picked up some T-gel conditioner but will see if I can find the Peppermint soap. -

ARCHIVED Dandruff Shampoo For Scalp
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for that info. I did some reading and found out that seborrheic dermatitis is yeast on the scalp that can be helped out by using an anti-fugal cream. I may try that too. -

ARCHIVED Dandruff Shampoo For Scalp
AVR1962 replied to AVR1962's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Head and Shoulders.....I think I was using a gluten-free shampoo before. I had been using the original Pantene for a long time without any problems. When I started having issues was when I tried a different hairspray. My scalp felt burnt and itchy mostly on the top and I guess that's why I thought it was the hairspray. I tossed the hairspray and at the same... -
Just wanted to share something I stumbled on for anyone dealing with sensative scalp issues. I don't have dandruff but my scalp had been burning from (what I thought was) an incident with hairspray that didn't go away once I tossed the can. I had small sores on my scalp and around my neck where my hair touches my skin. So I tried a medicated shampoo for dandruff...

ARCHIVED Raynaud's Issues Or Neuropathy Issues?
AVR1962 replied to Jen Z's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Have you had your vit levels checked? Because of the tingling I wonder if it could be linked to your B12. I was having funny crawling sensations on my legs, nose and cheeks. Kind of felt like I had a hair that was not there or like some bug was under my skin but I would look in the mirror and nothing was there. I told my doc about it and he looked at me like... -
ARCHIVED High Fsh And Celiac Disease? My Story.
AVR1962 replied to lostinvast's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
If you are planning on going thru with the blood test for celiac you need to be on gluten for at least 2 months so keep that in mind. However, testing for dceliac is not real accurate. You may have celiac and your test could come back negative, a year later you may test again and then get a positive reading so keep that all in mind. There is a connection... -
ARCHIVED New To Gluten Free And Struggling With Other Diseases
AVR1962 replied to Andi P's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I do believe you have found the right place. Hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia are all too familiar terms for me. If you are still on glutens I would suggest that you have the blood test for celiac and see if they can do a scope on you. I swear docs continue to throw tests at you left and right without a diagnosis. If you have gone off, give it time, it... -
ARCHIVED Anger
AVR1962 replied to Rachel85's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
The emotions and the changes your body is making is normal. You wouldn't think the body would be effected by gluten to the point you'd go thru a detox stage but it is. Hang in there!! About the indigestion....my gut was really tore up so I was taking Nexium twice a day plus shots of Pepto in between. I stayed away from all acidic foods, caffiene, soda... -
ARCHIVED Ugh Dr Is Frustrating!
AVR1962 replied to tinab3girls's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Tell me about it! I realize you just finished testing. Have you tried going off glutens yet? It might be worth trying, especially if you are at a stuck poiint and docs can't figure out what is going on. If I would have waited on docs I am afraid where I would be right now. One of my first signs that something was definately wrong was my vision but all... -
ARCHIVED Just A Vent- In Laws Are Making Fun Of Celiac
AVR1962 replied to MitziG's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Goodness, family situations are hard enough and then your inlaws start this stuff? That's enough fuel to add to the fire, unfortunate. Reality may come knocking on her door one day. If she would stop for a moment and relaize that maybe she isn't right about evreything, and actually took the time to read about wheat, maybe then she would understand the destruction... -
Marilyn, that is great! Pets are wonderful, they are comforting and give a reason to keep moving at times. Great tidbit on the exercise. Not only is it good for the body but it is actually good for the brain as well. Exercise helps make proper circuits in the brain.

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL! I amn not familiar with the program you are using however I did an herbal liver detox by Elemis just over a year ago. At first I was doing really well but then it went real bad. I ended up in ER with my heart going nuts (48 years old), my blood pressure was high. Doc said I reacted to the herbs, that they were too strong and that the...
