  1. Add yeast if your body can tolerate it! You can add yeast to anything. I add it to pancakes, cookies, I even put it in my tortillas! Now, that was rather funny, they turned out like flatbread instead!
  2. What's wrong with buttermilk in powder form??
  3. I am so grateful for Trader Joe's bread. Not only is it affordable it taste great as long as it is toasted. I have been at it for a couple of years now and there are some great web sites with terrific ideas. Room temp everything is #1 and a good place to start. Fresh yeast and not bread machine yeast. Use more yeast than called for, try putting it in your...
  4. Millet, quinoa, groats? gluten-free oats might be nice, I need to try that myself. You might have to grind your own! No health food store? I buy the seeds at the health food store and grind my own. If you toast them 1st (275, 10-15 min) they will be a finer grind.
  5. Is it because Super Bowl is coming? I too finally made a good pizza skin! 3 parts brown rice flour (I like Bob's) 3 parts starch (I used corn) 2 parts soy, sorghum or garfava 1 part masa harina (this is what they make tortillas out of, I used blue organic, FUN!) this is Mary Frances's blend from gluten-free Cooking School To make the skin: ...

  8. also: a warm oven, 170*, let it rise for an 1/2 to 1 hour, covered in plastic wrap, then bake it. I added all kinds of stuff and to roll it out I used Bob's Red Mill gluten-free Cereal! It was crunchy!! and chewy.
  9. Open Original Shared Link Not a bad recipe on this site! Nor have I had any failures! The combo of 1 tablespoon yeast and 2 teaspoons of cider vinegar really work for making anything rise. My pizza was such a hit, finally......
  10. I used a packet of Starbucks instant and added 2 tablespoons of King Arthur gluten-free flour just for kicks, to see what would happen. They really taste like brownies! What a quick, wonderful cookie for the Holy-daze.
  11. Any or all! I have been doing some baking with oat flour that I ground myself. So far so good, no one is sick, no one has bathroom issues, which always happens. I think Bob's Red Mill does a good job of keeping gluten out of it's products.

  13. This is great in a crock pot!
  14. If you have a big enough crock pot, I've used one before and it was better than delish! I smothered it wth brown sugar & pineapple, a cup of white wine. My family still talks about the "drunk pig"!

  16. If you don't want to hassel you can use dry, rice wrappers. I use 3-4 for one, they tear easily. Dip them in water, fill and twist, let dry and boil in water for just a minute or so. You can use rice wrappers for oh so many things!
  17. I wan to ask WHY people are afraid of gar gum? It's in everything! Take a look on most any packaged food. It's a laxative.....
  18. GOOD for you for grinding your own! Easy peasy, no? Lucky you for having such a good blender! Enjoy those cookies.
  19. Did you know it's a laxative?!
  20. Black bean and rice stir fry w/ carrots, celery, garlic, whatever was left from breakfast. Nothing empty here as I am a volume eater which is why I prep veggies on Sun, for the week. I have 10 different containers in my fridge with 5 days or so worth of "prep". I make pico de gallo once a week and on Sat I use that left over juice from the salsa and bake...

  22. If your great-grandma didn't serve it to HER childern why would you serve to yours?!? Too easy peasy to make your own. You won't feed your kid gluten but you would pour sugar down their throats? If you made your own juice you might know what goes into it.....
  23. Did anybody ever try this? I am and if I "hit" it I will let you know.
