  1. And did you get copies of your labs? If no, go get them. Post your thyroid results here.
  2. What kind of doctor are you seeing? Have you tried taking antihistimines? Generally, if symptoms recede using them its an allergy; not an intolerance. However, they are immune suppressants so some people (like me) get a degree of relief for autoimmune symptoms while using them. My point is - of they work really really well for you it may be a hint you...
  3. If your ped is good he'll listen when you print out medical studies about Celiac in children, and place them in his hot little hands. Try the diet and document, document.
  4. Yes. Have you requested a full panel of Celiac tests from a doctor? Have them run and see what comes up. Open Original Shared Link
  5. Welcome! Stories like yours are the best and worst, I think. Best because you figured it out, worst because things may have been so different for your family if it was figured out sooner. I'm very sorry about your mother. Look around, ask questions and get healthy!
  6. You know what the real irony is? The stuff you see about how "unhealthy" a gluten-free diet is. But quite frankly, if people are having any luck using gluten-free as a weight loss tool - they are eating very few if any processed gluten-free foods - they're eating "whole foods" which has been touted as healthy forever. So, duh. People are eating a whole...
  7. Wal mart carries Bob's. I think Walgreens does too. Read all food ingredients. I don't know if all life savers are gluten-free - check their website?
  8. Well, I wasn't on Dapsone but I have read that symptoms can start receding 2 hours after your first dose-which leads me to believe it could come back just as fast. As far as infection goes - it may not be infection. It may just be the DH lesions themselves which can get huge, blistery, and ooze like your skin is weeping. The weeping is usually clearish...
  9. If you have a BJ's restaurant nearby they do a great job at gluten-free and have pizza. Against The Grain makes a FABULOUS frozen pizza. The best I've had so far - even better than fresh. Find one of those for y'all.
  10. Bob's (the old fashioned kind) are gluten-free. Junior mints and Andes mints are gluten-free. Congrats!!!
  11. Just waaaaaiiiitttt...... I saw one post where an NCGI ate it and got sick. Give it a few weeks.
  12. Well, I found a "flat iron steak" at the store so we're having some sort of fajita thingies. Hubs is home for a few days before heading to Germany (without me), so we're trying to party it up, Bought stuff to make a strawberry/lemon/ginger ale slushy alcoholic nightmare of a drink, and I think there's some creme br
  13. Great response shroomie!!' The only thing I have to add is to get all of your old medical records, find your Celiac tests and see what exactly was done and what the results were, you may have an answer in there somewhere already.

    ARCHIVED Fed Up

And, get copies of all records and find a doctor, any doctor, to write the Celiac letter. Try am ND.
  15. You don't always feel the effects of gluten. A good chunk of Celiacs are asymptomatic. Some people develop gluten signals as they go along, but it isn't always reliable since it can show up days later. Celiac disease requires a gluten free diet. Not a low gluten diet. The tiniest bit - a fraction of a teaspoon of flour, can set off an autoimmune reaction...
  16. If I read your first post correctly you went backbon the gluten-free diet and tested negative for Celiac through blood work? That makes sense because the antibodies they test for depend on you eating gluten. No gluten, no antibodies, no positive test. On top of that, some people with celiac disease test negative, regardless. Do you know what blood tests were...
  17. I could see the short post, not the long one.
  18. You may have a FB setting not allowing your posts to be seen by non-friends, or on the web, etc. But I doubt that's the case since one shows up and not the other. You may see it on YOUR profile, but not Domino's because they deleted it, not YOU. You may experiment by posting on a friend's page, asking them to delete it and see what happens. Then again...
  19. Here's the latest from NFCA on why they did what they did. http://www.celiaccentral.org/celiac-disease-in-the-news/note-from-alice-dominos-gluten-free-crust/
  20. 1) if anyone is serious about tracking this debacle (I find it interesting from a case study perspective) you need to start taking screen shots of the NFCA site pages, press releases, specifically the pages about their certification, twitter, FB. 2) ditto on Domino's site, FB, twitter, etc. You'll notice things.....change. My beef with the whole...
  21. I can't find an email specific to this issue, but take your pick here http://www.celiaccentral.org/About-NFCA/NFCA-Team-Staff/30/.
  22. I'm sorry. It sucks. I'm just now getting past the stomach and muscle cramps, myself.
  23. I saw that! Yes, that's an interesting concept - the bag.
