  1. I don't trust it. Period.
  2. My hubs broke out in obvious dh & he floated in the river of De Nial even though I kept telling him. And he's seen how I've suffered. Of course he had all kinds of excuses. "It's where the back of my legs touch the edge of the chair". "It's because I wash both my hands so much". "It's right where the tongue of my tennis shoes hits". On EACH leg? On EACH...
  3. HAPPY IVGLDSW DAY! Today is International Very Good Looking, Darn Smart Woman's Day, so please send this message to someone you think fits this description. Please do not send it back to me as I have already received it from a Very Good Looking, Darn Smart Woman! And remember this motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the...
  4. No Bob; stay off sugar does not mean stay off fruit & dates necessarily. But you may find that you need to eat some fat with those fruits in order to properly digest them. Example: Have an apple but eat a handful of cashews with it. You need some fat with your carbs --- get it? However, you may find that the sugars in fruits are too much for you right...
  5. Here is some info. for you: Celiac disease is triggered by consumption of the protein called gluten, which is found in wheat, barley and rye. When people with celiac disease eat foods containing gluten, their immune system responds by damaging the finger-like villi of the small intestine. When the villi become damaged, the body is unable to absorb nutrients...
  6. Laura, I have been here over 6 months and am still learning. I recently learned that schizophrenia has it's connection to celiac disease also. Another piece of the puzzle drops into place for me. My brother had schizophrenia. AND he had symptoms of celiac disease but no one connected the dots at the time. Then by the time he was on meds, all the symptoms...
  7. I'll add my 2 cents to all of the above very knowledgeable celiacs. GO get the blood test, then endoscopy if the doc will do it. If all those come up negative then like everyone else said --- go gluten free & test it yourself. You do sound like one of us. I had the world falling out from under my feet. The head spinning. the feeling you were moving...
  8. Well, there are enough false negatives on the blood test in the first place. That's why you really want to be eating luten right up until it's done & over with. That gives you the best chance of a correct reading. Secondly, when the blood comes back neg for celiac OR if your doc still suspects celiac b/c the doc is up on the latest & realizes there...
  9. Hmmmm..... I think I'd like to be up in those passes now shroomie! 93 degrees here today.
  10. I couldn't have said it any better!
  11. We are only in our second day experimenting with it but so far, so good. Hubs (he has dh too) & I are trying Caladryl --- well, actually CVS brand Calamine Plus Itch Relief. I had already checked & Caladryl pink is gluten-free (not the clear -- clear has wheat in it). The only ingredient in the CVS stuff that the Caladryl doesn't have is glycerin...
  12. And shroomie, what's up with that anyway? All the browns & tans for homes there in the desert. We watch house hunters & that's all you see. You would think people would want some blues & greens --- cool colors. Is it a law there that you have to match the desert or what?
  13. Okay, I get you. Well, we could house trade for 1/2 the year. But you have to come here in the summer cause it's TOO hot for me.
  14. Gluten-Free, I'm sorry you're having such a rough time of it. Sucks doesn't it? Does Tylenol work for you at all? That is better sal wise than Aleve. Or try only taking one Aleve & see if it works for you instead of 2 right off the bat. Otherwise we need to go to a doc & get a script for sal free Aleve.
  15. And who is stopping you from painting it any color you want?
  16. You guys are making me laugh. Thanks!
  17. To both you Karen & to Irish The weird thing Karen is that Irish probably does have a friend named Mary & her trash p/u has been moved. Synchronicity happens!
  18. To this, I will quote a friend's favorite saying: "Beware, they walk among us. And they breed!"
  19. There are those on this board far better versed in the subject of child endoscopes than I so it's better for them to answer you but this will bump your question up & perhaps it will receive attention.
  20. I can't speak for the Celi-Act vitamins as I don't know anything about them. Others may be able to speak on those. Since you're neg. blood work but positive biopsy, this thread may be of interest to you & perhaps you can add to it: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/92407-negative-blood-test-poitive-biopsy/page__p__792305__fromsearch__1#entry7...
  21. I'm so sorry to hear that Diane. My thoughts are with you all. Yes, it puts everything in perspective & I wish to heck it didn't b/c that would mean no brain tumor.
  22. Truth to tell, I probably wouldn't have left well enough alone.
  23. Makes the rest of us look like wusses doesn't it?
