  1. Congratulations on an actual dyed in the wool dx razzle!
  2. You can tell Dr. F that all the people on celiac.com are waiting to see the photo. And tell him that he's our hero! Good for you! You're coming home. It won't be long (sing the Beatles song), It won't be long, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, It won't be long yeah!
  3. Good for you! Be sure to get a copy of everyone's tests & post them here with their ref. ranges. And the GI may wish to do an endoscopy so continue with eating gluten until that's done. Great news on the anemia! A month gives you time to prepare. Continue to read & ask questions on this board. Get your printer ready to print off lists which will...
  4. I agree with everyone else. i would add that the one biopsy they DID do especially doesn't count if they did NOT have it checked for celiac disease. The doc needs to specify he is looking for celiac disease.
  5. Hang in there. I know you can do it! I didn't have much GI symptoms but I sure as heck have/had neuro symptoms & psychological effects & other physical things. My rash is still a battle in progress but getting better than it once was for sure! But I tell you true --- I am feeling so much better physically & mentally. I had become a royal "B" you...
  6. Aerial, I meant to address your what you said & I will quote: "I developed a rash following my first exposure to gluten after having been gluten free for about a month (and since, thereafter)
  7. I'll third that! Doctor NOW. Even though it's Saturday tomorrow. You have an urgent care clinic near you? Or is your primary care doc available?
  8. Well cougie, dh presents in many ways, many manifestations during different stages. Just read the "sticky" or "pinned" at the top of the dh forum. I think you will be amazed.
  9. I'm not so sure you're NCGI. I'd tend to say you have Celiac disease. DH = celiac. It's pretty simple. Congratulations on clearing up! YAY for you! Enjoy it. Now remember, dh can present even when you're gluten-free any old time it decides to until all the antibodies are out of your skin. It seems though that you got an early start on the whole thing...
  10. YUP! This looks like dh. DH takes many forms/manifestations & what I see in your photos is certainly one of them from what both myself & my hubs have experienced. Further proof for you is the iodine connection & the shower & nightime flare. It all adds up. Including flares with glutening. My deah, you have dh. If you bathe with the coolest...
  11. I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well said Jestgar.
  12. Bama, it sounds like you could have a problem with gluten for sure & should consider getting tested for celiac disease. Have you also tried eliminating soy from your diet? When you eliminate foods, do you do one at a time or lots of them? Then when you add them back in do you do 1 at a time for say a week before adding another?
  13. I began to get back pain around 30 & knees were about 5 years before that. Shoulders around 30.
  14. Thanks cmoore & everyone who posted on this thread. Great info.!

    ARCHIVED I Love My Doctor

It's so wonderful to hear good news about docs! We just need more of them like yours!
  16. Welcome Holly! There are great people on this board. Everyone is sooooo helpful. And BOY!, are you ever fortunate to have a doctor "in the know" or at least not obtuse to the fact that celiac disease exists. Get your son tested & don't let him go gluten free until all the testing is done with otherwise it will skew the test results.
  17. Oh, I didn't mean to imply your reaction was from the glue on the tape. I understood the gluten dog mouth perfectly. Sorry --- my bad --- I was just adding the curiosity of the possible glue aspect that we happened to wonder about. And then the other day Prickly was helping an Asian gal --- seems there's something about them having different tests????...
  18. You are exactly right about those gene comments. I was reading medical reports just yesterday which stated some DQ4's & 5's & I don't remember what all. I will post it later if I get the chance. Oh! And here's something I thought about the other day ---- we've read gluten in glue such as for envelopes etc..... My hubs got bad places sometimes from...
  19. Stay strong & stay on gluten. 3 weeks and counting down. You're a warrior; you can do this! And when it's all over just think --- you won't have to eat gluten for the rest of your life!
  20. And crest mouthwashes/rinses are gluten-free too.

    ARCHIVED Doctors

You know what makes you feel better. And that's all you need. Screw the dumb%$##@!
  22. This could very well be the result of no gluten even so soon for your daughter. Kids are so much more resilient than we adults are! And she's only had 4 yrs. to get damaged --- adults have been getting damaged for decades & decades. Enjoy!
  23. Why do you want a doctor's dx of your dh? From what I understand, you have been diagnosed with celiac disease. So I don't understand why you feel it necessary to get an official dx of dh. You have been gluten-free for 2 months now. Even if you found a great derm well versed in dh then a biopsy would likely turn up negative. You need to be consuming gluten...
  24. Jane, besides the NP doing the biopsy wrong, according to earlier posts you had been gluten-free for what? 1 or 2 years? Even if they did the biopsy correctly then there was a snowballs chance in hell that it would turn up positive; add to that a 37% false negative & you were sunk before you even began. Unless you are willing to eat the equivalent of...
