  1. My first thought is that you probably need to tighten up your diet if you are having incidents that frequently. If you are eating out, especially if it involves any type of buffet or salad bar, those can be huge risks. If you aren't already, remember that even if you have purchased a product in the past, that doesn't mean that ingredients haven't changed...
  2. I imagine from the pictures that their gluten free donuts are cake donuts, not awesome donuts. I do not have any confirmation of this though. I can make the fluffy ones at home, so whatever.
  3. So today I'm dealing with the physical fallout of the heat crap. Fun times. Oh well, in for a penny... mac and cheese for supper. I am completely out of craps to give. I know how stupid this is, I just don't care right now. (I'll probably care later... or tomorrow. Oh well. I've vowed not to b%$@#.) I'll probably just cook a burger or chicken breast or some...
  4. The chocolate any-nut is fabulous! It will make you forget Nutella ever existed. (Not that I ever cared for that crap anyway. Kind of ick if you ask me.) While nuts and I are not the bestest of friends, the packets are standbys for day long outings.
  5. If I ever fell off the wagon and drank coffee, it would be DD. It is the most sublime heaven in a cup. Just the smell, which is unlike other coffee is pure ecstasy. I found out a couple weeks back that we're getting a DD up in SLC. I squealed like a little girl when I heard the news. I didn't think to myself "oh I don't eat donuts" or "omg I don't drink coffee...
  6. I've also never seen peanut butter with gluten, but it is up to each of us to check each product to our satisfaction. There are many brands of peanut butter, regular and natural. Much to my husband's disappointment, I discovered Justin's nut butters last year. (He's just pissy about the cost. ) They are all natural, certified gluten free and have a texture...
  7. My grammy would do this too. We simply called them potato cakes or potato pancakes. But... with bacon and cheese? YES PLEASE!
  8. I have family that posts the most annoying crap on facebook all the time... but today I saw this. Bacon Cheddar Potato Cakes - made from leftover mashed potatoes 3 slices bacon 4 cups cold leftover mashed potatoes 2 eggs 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese Place the bacon in...
  9. I guess its basil season. I have no idea what is for dinner, probably frozen burgers and more corn. (Cause I still have some.) I am not having a good day. Hubs doesn't have to go in to work until mid-afternoon so we went to the kitchen to get some brunch. He looks out in the yard and notices a hose in on in the grass... then sees we have INCHES of standing...
  10. So I'm waiting for a call back today, don't know when that will happen. Until then I will simply chillax. I'm not thrilled with everything I see in my test results. With regards to what is relevant to anemia, normal TIBC and UIBC, low %Sat and Iron, Ferritin is normal. The website doesn't post ranges, so actual results are more or less meaningless. All it...
  11. I simply haven't been bellyaching about all my issues, it isn't that I don't have any that aren't possible symptoms of anemia. Things have degraded to the point that since I haven't worked in years (other than subbing at a college a once or twice a month) and my health is backsliding I have applied for disability. The worst of them is just being so damn bone...
  12. For popsicles that could be difficult to get out of the mold, and always ones that are milk based, I don't use molds. I use little paper or plastic bathroom cups and popsicle sticks. That way I can just peel away the cup without all the hassle.
  13. Oh you know... some random person who I was emailing about my laziness and pizza crust. I would never come up with ideas that great on my own, I need people like you to do that for me.
  14. My dinner plans have been amended thanks to laziness and brilliance. The laziness is mine, the brilliance is not. I will have caprese salad because I don't want to make my own pizza crust, garlic roasted chicken breasts and something vegetable-ish I'm sure. I'm sure the goat cheese will survive until I can get some crusts ordered, they only takes a few days...
  15. Someone suggested a popsicle thread. No one ever got around to it. Well I found this recipe posted on facebook today and it is next on my hit list. I am heading to the store tomorrow because as wonderful as these low/mid 90s have been the past few days, we're heading back to 100ish this week. Trips to the store here happen before 10 or 11 because I'm not...
  16. Spinach is what set me off and got me started on this whole stupid thing so it is the bottom of my list for greens. Glad that your cheese is playing nice with you. My husband still gives me weird looks and has all sorts of commentary on things I do. I think we're just still too young, or maybe just not married long enough (only 5 years) for...
  17. Pizza for supper tonight! I'll roast some of my fresh yellow cherry tomatoes, I have fresh basil from the farmer's market yesterday, and some fresh mozzarella. I just make personal sized pizzas because my husband won't touch a pizza like that. The second pizza will be a dessert pizza with blueberries and goat cheese. I'm thinking nuts would be pushing my...
  18. My thoughts? For the love of all that is holy, if you find yourself on the verge of being on the streets and there is nothing you can do to stop it, you have exhausted every last effort to keep a roof over your head, my advice certainly wouldn't be to flee to a place where you will almost certainly freeze to death. I slept on this because I was wondering...
  19. A lot of information is out there that focuses on the waif celiac. Many of us could actually stand to lose a few (or more) pounds. I have found that as I began to heal many things came together for me that allowed me weight to begin to drop. First, and most important to me, I was healing. I was no longer poisoning my body with every meal. Second, the longer...
  20. This sounds like me when I had to give up cheese. I wasn't so pissy about all the other things, but cheese? You have got to be freakin KIDDIN me! I thought nothing of going throw 10-15 pounds of cheddar, 5-10 of mozzarella and 5-10 of assorted other cheeses in a month. For two people! And I was probably eating 3/4 of that, if not more. I never considered...
  21. I occasionally indulge in a whole case from Costco when they're on sale. My husband thinks I'm spoiled, I tell him I just like the good stuff. I generally stick with the bottles, because I have no business drinking the flavored ones with citrus juice in them. I was pushing my luck this morning with a blood orange one, my favorite! It didn't disagree with...
  22. I went to the farmer's market today and found beets with their greens still on them. Not a particularly common occurrence around here. I thought I would give the greens to my bunny, but have decided to see if I can tolerate them. I haven't had anything green and leafy besides plain old lettuce in a year and it is making me crazy. I'll probably still give...
  23. *evil glare* It was pretty toasty down in Provo at the farmer's market at noonish. I was tempted to go run through the splash pad on my way out of the park, but I am guessing that parents would have thought I was some sort of weird psycho since the only people on the splash pad were kids. I don't think there is a rule that the splash pad is for kids...
  24. We had a bunch of thunderstorms roll through last evening. Fortunately it doesn't look like they started any fires. One was centered right over me as it passed and was pretty epic, loved it! The temp dropped 25 degrees in half an hour, which was really nice. Only supposed to be low 90s today, I'll take it! Some moron last night was setting off fireworks...
  25. So I went to the kitchen to make start dinner and it seemed dark. Then I looked out the window at the thermometer and noticed that the sky was BLACK! It was still about 90 then. In the space of half an hour the temp dropped 25 degrees and it rained some. (People here probably thought the sky was falling, but I grew up where it rains, this didn't look like...
