  1. Welcome! Flattened villi take a while to recover, but they can. It sounds like you are on the right track taking some nutrients. Did you have a test to find out what other deficiencies you have? Sorry you have this difficulty and I hope you will be feeling better soon. My villi were heavily damaged. My Functional Medicine nurse said that when the...
  2. Friday is coming, I hope this is working out. Otherwise you may need some quick seamstress help, or a wedding gown from a thrift store.
  3. Yes, brain fog. It has gone away. I figured out that I had it when it went away. Then I realized I had, had it for 30 years! Here are some of the things I did that solved it: Vitamin supplements (Nutrient level tests are good I think) gluten free diet I even had to do grain free diet (I might have more than a gluten problem though) Keep everything...
  4. I have experienced a miscarriage. Sorry, for your loss and I wish you and yours wellness in the future. I have sent you a pm about it and would be willing to share experiences if you care to after that. D
  5. Hi lvlearning ! I had 30 years of untreated symptoms. During that time I had 5 children. Now, I am gluten free, I am feeling better and my nutrient levels have gone up. One must follow 100% gluten free diet, but villi damage is reversible. My Functional Medicine nurse says so, and besides I have proved it. I agree that checking your nutrient...
  6. You said the child had an endoscopy. Since the small intestine is so large in surface area, the damaged part may have been missed. All this leads to I agree that you may want to check with another doctor. D
  7. I don't know how many times my youngest (now 10 and 9) have rescued me when my mind was absent! It sure is hard to work on food that isn't safe for you. I am mostly thinking of my rotational diet, but the same would apply to gluten. D
  8. Oh, wow! I hope you will resolve this well and soon. D
  9. Oh, I had that shortness of breath! I had it so long that I didn't know it was there. It returns now at surprising times and I think that it feels like someone put a tire inner tube around my waist that fits super tightly. Now sometimes I notice I can breath deeply! Hopefully if you concentrate on high nutrient foods such as meat, vegetables, and fruit...
  10. I’ve had some minor blood work done at various points, the last time being February, with few abnormal findings; somewhat low iron and vitamin D. By the time I go back to the doctor, I will be 2 weeks gluten free. Will there be any point in getting tested for celiac disease/gluten intolerance? I really don’t want to go back to eating gluten, but I supposed soo...
  11. I hope your body will learn to ask when it needs it. I got checked for diabetes more than once because of my "extreme thirst." I guess when a body is messed up, it can mess up any which way? My thirst level has become more regular since gluten free is working for me. I hope yours will too. D
  12. First the bad news that you perhaps can relate to. I have two copies of DQ2 and two copies of DQ8 genes. I lost the enamel off my teeth at 17. I spent 30 years with mysterious major bloating in the tummy. I spent most of it with major fatigue and brain fog. Each diet improvement, or supplement change seemed to really help for a while, but I kept taking...
  13. It is so exciting to hear this! Happy health to you! Glad to hear of sacrifices paying off. D
  14. My functional medicine nurse told me her standard plan was to cut dairy, soy, and eggs for a few months while healing. After that, you could try a normal amount (One serving) and wait four days to see if there is reaction. Substitutes for milk: nut milk, rice milk, coconut milk I suggest to find a recipe and make your own. I found coconut aminos...
  15. If you can tolerate it, a couple of drops of lavender, or peppermint, or other essential oil and your hair could smell terrific. I make my own shampoo bars and am happy with them. D
  16. Yep, things are way too good now to care very much about eating those things. I have resorted to thanking God that I don't have to go in the restaurant and can remain feeling good! D
  17. Right. I ate some of the papaya, but the only ingredient was papaya in that. Yeah, IH, talking it out always seems to help some. I hope you are well. D
  18. Oh, Wow! Well, I could contact the company. I noticed the empty package in my purse. BUT since I have lost all desire for it in the future, t , perhaps I will not be following through on it. I have been busy dehydrating apples from our own orchards. We also dehydrated our own raspberries, sour cherries, and blueberries! No, worry about the processing...
  19. Keep reading. We talk about the need for testing a lot. If you think you will need an official diagnose ever, or might lapse with the diet, you will need the testing. Also, it can help unsupportive family or friends come around. You do have one positive test already, so it sounds to me. You have a positive response to the gluten free diet. If you...
  20. Fungus does odd nail stuff. I have one toe with a raised off the bed toenail from fungus.
  21. Have your nutrient levels been checked and checked again? Maybe you are not taking supplements, or they aren't being absorbed well enough. You may have other food intolerances, or maybe your body is just really working hard on recovery. Have you had any higher highs, yet? All of these things were going on with me at 4 months gluten free. Also, I believe...
  22. My Mom thought my diet was "crazy" too. Moms do care. I hope you will get to the bottom of it with gluten and find health in it. D
  23. Anyone know what the finger ridges show a deficiency of? I don't. My nutrient levels went down somewhat before they went up. Hang in there! Progress is great!
