  1. Count me in. I take Synthroid daily. I go to my doctor every 6 months to regulate my dosage. I was diagnosed several years before being diagnosed with celiac however I'll never know if the thyroid problem is a result of the celiac, or if I would have developed it regardless because thyroid problems run in my family. My guess is I would have had a thyroid...
  2. When I feel yucky I tend to favor tea (regular or peppermint) and white rice. This may sound crazy but I still lean towards a bagel (gluten free ofcourse) when I feel sick. I'll toast a Glutino bagel and put some peanut butter on it. Hope you feel better soon.
  3. I've never watched the show, but I just sent Elizabeth an e-mail. Since she is in NY I told her about Babycakes so in the future she can get a cake for her daughter and also told her about the Namaste chocolate mix for a potentialy better do it yourself mix.
  4. We are going to Boulder Creek in a couple weeks for a very informal bithday dinner. I know it's mostly steak so I shouldn't have to much trouble, but wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
  5. Thanks!!! My chorset and I thank you deeply Ok, funny story. The first time I ever got drunk was on Manischewitz wine at my Grandmothers house on Passover when I was 4!! I really enjoyed the wine, (in my defense I was 4 and it really does taste like grape juice). My brother however was not a fan so I asked if I could finish his, and he gave it to me...
  6. For salami I know Boars Head or Hebrew National are gluten-free. Sausage I use Premio And ham I stick with Boar's Head.
  7. I drink their tea pretty often and never have a problem. And actually they don't really make any of the donuts at most locations. My cousin owns a bunch of them. Usually a bunch of DD in a geographic area are owned by 1 person (or persons) and there is one store that makes the donuts for all the locations they own. The only thing that happens in the...
  8. Thanks!!! The most simple solution ever and it took me forever to think of it! I hear ya though, of all the things to consider throwing in the towel for I was thinking the same thing. How sad!! LOL!
  9. I tend to do a combo of shopping at Whole Foods, Trader Joes (for Chicken Taquitos only - which seem to be Gluten free again); and my favorite is Mrs. Greens. I think they are only in the NY metro area. I've been meaning to get to Westerly because I hear they have good prices, but so far Mrs. Greens is my fave.
  10. I was just going to post that I found a gluten free matzoh but see others have found it. I've certainly splurged for gluten free foods before but I draw the line at paying $30 for matzoh. So I was thinking well how am I going to eat my chorset. I look forward to that every year. And then I realized, OMG I'm retarded. Plain rice crackers ofcourse! I mean...
  11. Does anyone know if the Manischewitz Concord Grape Wine is gluten-free? I called the company but their wine is actually made by another company that liscenses out the company name. I left a message to find out but figured maybe one of you guys know. My absolute favorite Passover food is used making this wine. I already came up with a solution how to...
  12. I 2nd Oscar Meyer.
  13. Amy's has lots of frozen gluten-free meals. But make sure you check because not all are safe. And Bell & Evans is coming out with chicken nuggets.
  14. Oh man this sucks!!! Where'd you go so I know to avoid it. This reminds me though. Awhile back you were asking about Mexican. Well we went to Santa Fe the other night (in Tarrytown). Great experience!!! I ofcourse asked about the chips on the table (they throw them in the fryer), and then ofcourse checked 900 times that my dish was made with corn tortilla...

    ARCHIVED Quote Of The Day

Wow some of these are crazy!!! Mine pales in comparison to some of these. I had correctly self diagnosed myself for H Pylori. Went to the GI for an endoscopy to 100% confirm the bloodtests where correct before starting the meds. Ofcourse I told the doctor that in addition to this new development that in all honesty I'd been nauseaus for about the last...
  16. OHhhhhhh, lets go together!!! That is the one by me also. I'm like a block away. I usually try and go later in the afternoon, around 3:00 so it's not lunch time. Line usually isn't bad then.
  17. YES, and it is completely worth the 1 1/2 drive!!!! Where do you live? It also takes me about an 1 1/2 to get there. I'm in Westchester. I've gone twice now. Love it!!!! John is the owner and is so incredibly nice. Last time we went he was busy so I didn't want to bother him, but the first time we went I went up to him when we were done and thanked him for...
  18. I love free scoop day!!!! Ben & Jerry's is really good about listing their ingredients. My favorite flavors there are Chunky Mokey and Cherry Garcia (used to like Mint Chocolate Cookie).
  19. So ironic, just yesterday my friend just suckered me into hosting a Pampered Chef party for her at the end of the month.
  20. LOL!! I've never thought to eat there.. and they are a couple blocks from where I work. I think I could convince a few co-workers to go on a Friday lunch, or CeliaCruz what do you say the next time you are near 4TS?!! Work has been crazy for me the last couple of weeks so I don't want to commit to Risotteria on a Tuesday and have to cancel. But you guys...
  21. I actually don't like Coldstone Creamery. I find there stuff has a freezeburnt taste to it. But regardless I wouldn't eat it. Since they mix everything up right there on the slab I feel there would be way to much risk of cross contamination. I'll stick with Haagen Dazs
  22. So I heard a few months back that Bell & Evans was going to start making gluten-free chicken nuggets that would be sold at Whole Foods. I've been checking religiously when I'm at Whole Foods and had yet to see them so I called today. Happy to say, they left me a message saying that they are producing their first batch in the next week and will start shipping...
  23. YAY!! Field trip to Rye Brook. Ok when we going? CeliaCruz & Mookie, if you want to take the train to me I'll pick you up and we'll go there. It's like 15 minutes from me
  24. I actually knew about this place and the whole Belgium thing. Wish I remembered it was there Saturday night/Sunday morning - lol!!!
  25. I find this so funny that there is a place called NY Fries. Are we known for our fries? And ummm do we actually have one in NY, cuz' I've never seen one. LOL!!
