  1. I love GFBETSY's idea. I hope the moderators run with this idea. It would be so great for the Newby's and great for us. We would answer the unusual ones. And I also think it is necessary that after those threads are created, that no one, except Scott, could post to them.
  2. You know it is funny that you should mention gfp as I was talking about him to Lynne a couple of days ago. I personally think that he has always been a nice person, but that he sometimes posts in an abrupt manner, so that we have to really think, and not take things at face value. I noticed a few times that after he came on real strong and people started...
  3. Everyone has given great advice. Each person is different in how fast they heal. Your age is definately a big plus on your side. If you live with others, have you also checked for cross contamination issues. Like toaster, condiments, etc. Also watch any over the counter items, lipstick, shampoo, etc. Anything that can get into your mouth. Don't get...
  4. I know that here you can buy special sponges in the hardware store that are made to get smoke damage off of the walls. Other then that, I am not much help. Just glad you did not burn down the house and that you are OK.
  5. Thank you Chelsea for clarifying your reasons for leaving. I agree 100% with what you had to say. I also believe in mainstream doctors' and also in alternative treatments. Both are useful. But, just like we have to investigate whether a doctor is a good one, we also have to investigate the alternative treatment. I was not diagnosed for over 30 years...
  6. I use C&H white sugar and brown sugar. It is fine. I do not react and I react within 10 to 20 minutes.
  7. I understand from reading other parents (I am a grandmother) postings, that it is very hard to get an accurate blood diagnosis in young children. It is hard to get an accurate one in adults. I was just telling my GP that from the reading I have done, all insulin diabetics should be tested for Celiac disease as almost 1/3 have celiac disease and the majority...
  8. I hope Chelsea that you change your mind. But, if you don't I do understand. I really do not post much any more as I just don't want to argue about things with anyone. There are newer people that are sometimes giving out the wrong information and I just don't have the energy to correct them. I guess I count on informed members like you to make the difference...

    ARCHIVED Shrimp Scampi

It was an appetiser on the gluten free menu. But it was not over anything as they serve garlic toast with it. I asked the garlic toast to be on a separate plate so others could eat it. I love when I can get appetiser's at a restaurant
  10. A year after going gluten-free, I ate a gluten dinner. I had taken Pepto before, during and after. I did not get sick. Two weeks later, I did it again, I felt only slightly sick. I did it about a month later, THEN I felt sick. Also, shortly after I was so stupid, I started to notice some slight neurological problems. They grew more pronounced over time...
  11. I agree Patti and Marcia, about some of the food allergies ease up. I can now eat dairy and soy when I go out to dinner with very very very very, minor breathing problems. But, I do not use soy or dairy at home. The corn is so new and that one is TOTALLY OUT. When I tested it at a PF Changs for lunch a week ago, I had breathing problems. I had to use...
  12. Does Smart Squeeze marg. have corn in it? I bought Spectrum marg. and it does not even melt on my baked potato.
  13. Carla, there are several brands out there that have separate washer and dryers that can be stacked. That way if one goes bad, you only have to replace the one. I have had (in the past), one that was one unit and that one worried me, but we sold the condo before anything could go wrong. The next one was also a stackable and it had a top loader washer and...
  14. Have a wonderful 40th birthday. You deserve a special day.
  15. I am so sorry Lynne about Ashley. I don't know anything about TB. My father had it when I was a child and was treated for it. About 6 years ago, I had several doctor's tell me that it has been on the rise for some time. But, now it is treatable as long as they stay on top of things. The problem is that there are many carriers out there that show no symptoms...
  16. See how right I am that Lynne is such a beutiful woman. And such a glorious smile. Excuse me Lynne, but is Brooke in grade school? Just kidding, as I know how old she is. But, she does look young as do all of you. THANK GOODNESS, we now have a real picture of Lynne.
  17. Lisa, I am so sorry. I can only imagine how hard this is on you, to be going through this alone. But, I can understand that you would want an answer now and any answer will be fine. Then you can cope with it and move forward. Please keep posting here as we will certainly try and give you all the support and caring thoughts that we can. Many Hugs!!!
  18. Thank you Carla for explaining. At least YOU AGREE that I do look like that Ostrich. And what would make everyone smile if I took him away. He sure makes me smile. Lynne, enough stalling - where is your photo.
  19. That is wonderful news - CONGRATULATIONS!!
  20. Who cares what it tastes like - THEY DELIVER It would certainly have to be better then mine You are so lucky. Give them a try as it could be awesome. Just ask first if they have separate kitchens as you could get cc if they are done in the same space as a regular pizza. Picazzo's Pizza (45 minutes from me) has two kitchens. Let us know how it...
  21. Lynne, I agree with Beverly - BULL ****!! Jen, I love your photo. Lynne told me how young you are. I could not believe that so much wisdom comes from someone your age. I had been picturing you in your mid to late 30's. And here you are a very beautiful young woman, inside and out.
  22. I also love that picture of you Patti. You should leave it up.

    ARCHIVED Shrimp Scampi

Carrabba's has a shrimp scampi on their gluten free menu that is delicious. Everyone at our table loved it. I of course did not have the garlic toast.
  24. Glad you got it taken care of and now you can just concentrate on getting better. Now, that your computer is back up, you can visit with us here, while you get the rest you probably were told to do. Hugs for a quick recovery.
