  1. Jess, I had a margarita tonight for ya. Hope you are hanging in there.
  2. There are quite a few names for it - gluten intolerance, gluten sensitivity, gluten allergy, non celiac gluten sensitivity, etc. Many find they do better on a gluten free diet, regardless of Celiac diagnosis. Open Original Shared Link You'll find lots of good information on this board. Welcome!
  3. Well, it does tell you that you are not producing AGA IgA or IgG antibodies. Without the total IgA test though, you won't know if any of the IgA tests are false negatives. There is always *some* value in all tests - not one test is the perfect screen for Celiac. Does this tell you enough to rule in or out Celiac? Probably not.
  4. It looks like they ran the AGA IgA and AGA IgG, but not the one or both of the more specific tests - tTG IgA or EMA IgA, nor did they run the total IgA to test for IgA deficiency. What are the reference ranges for the two tests they did run?
  5. Your doctor can order, he's just not. You can use Kimball Genetics, which is used by the University of Chicago's Celiac Center. Open Original Shared Link Ask your doctor if he'd be willing to use them.
  6. Patti, I am so sad for you.......I just read about Allo in other people's quotes as I hadn't caught up. However, I think that what you said summed it all up pretty nicely. He lived in lots of great places, and had the best mama a kitty could ask for.
  7. Welcome to the board. Here are two other threads that may be of interest to you - others reporting the same thing. https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=56225 https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?showtopic=55604

  9. I use better batter gluten free flour and convert all my 'normal' recipes - It is the only flour blend that I have. I'm eating cranberry orange muffins right now made with it. www.betterbatter.org
  10. I think Hunt's is a part of ConAgra...and all ConAgra products have a clear gluten free labeling policy. Open Original Shared Link So, if the label doesn't list wheat/rye/barley/oats, it should be okay. Good to see you!
  11. Not really a surefire way to tell, as there is not one "set" of symptoms for Celiac and one for non-Celiac gluten sensitivity.
  12. Open Original Shared Link There may be some helpful info in the "children" section.
  13. Yes, you can cook it in the same oven at the same time. If you put one on the top rack, put the gluten-free one on top, and the 'regular' one on the bottom.
  14. Please remember board rule #1 https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.php?act=boardrules Do not be abusive or otherwise out of line towards other board members. Show respect for each board member, no matter what you think of their views. This is not a place to quarrel.
  15. You tested positive for the tTG IgA and tTG IgG blood tests, which are very specific/sensitive tests for Celiac.
  16. Good info: Open Original Shared Link
  17. You can call the office and find out which labs were run, so that you know now.
  18. I believe Milky Ways have barley malt in it, which is not gluten free.
  19. The only way to truly know if you have Celiac is to go back on gluten, and then have the blood tests/biopsy. The genetic test can tell you if you have one/both of the associated genes. But about 1/3 of the American population has one/both of the genes, so just having the gene doesn't equal Celiac. A positive gene test and improvement on the diet can...

  21. Hang in there - you are doing great! Continue to ask questions. Someone here always has an answer.
  22. It really just depends on the person. Some give it up and can add it back in, some have continued problems with it, and some never have any problems with it and don't need to give it up. If you have only been gluten free for five days, your symptoms may be entirely related to gluten.
  23. Welcome to the board! There isn't one answer for how long it 'takes' to tell....but a solid month of gluten free should be at the very least, a good indication. 24. These companies have clear labeling policies -if you don't see wheat, rye, barley, barley malt, or oats, it isn't hidden in "flavors" etc. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
