  1. If you would like some help, you'll need to post the reference ranges for each one. each lab has different methods and numbers mean different things. independent of the reference ranges, these numbers do not mean anything.
  2. Thanks for the laugh, Lisa. I needed that!!! Christmas is the most magical time in our family. My mom works so hard to make it so great for us...as kids, teenagers, coming home from college, and now as we are all "young adults" (and she has two grandkids, who are my nieces). Going to Christmas Eve service in our Christmas dress that we carefully picked...
  3. Tell him that to you/other Celiacs, that gluten is like rat poison. Would he feel 100% comfortable around the house if there were remnants/crumbs of gluten laying around? Would he like to kiss you if you had just eaten some rat poison and drank some rat poison (beer)? Your body doesn't care how gluten gets into your intestine...via cheating and eating...
  4. Yes, I am now extremely sensitive. For me, I think part of it was that I was so sick, all the time, that it became normal. So after getting better, it was SO noticeable for me. But I think I am more sensitive to smaller and smaller amounts now (2.5 years since dx). On the other hand, there are board members who didn't have horrible symptoms, until...
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That is so exciting....and you must be so happy as a mom! Good luck and continue to keep us updated. Remember that even if your tests are negative, you could still be non Celiac gluten intolerant (on the other hand, you might not be!). Just remember to do what feels best for you! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I think you will find a lot of completely contradictory information out there. Some say its awful, some say its a magic food. I'm sorry that I don't have much to offer! Food is so overwhelming sometimes, isn't it?!!!
  7. lisa, my mom and grandma have used baking powder for years...and passed it onto me! xoxo
  8. I am sorry this happened to you. It still amazes me that there are people who are that insensitive. I don't have much else to offer...we all find our different ways to cope. I think this is one of those "take the high road" moments. I'm happy we have this board where we do understand. When things like this happen, I tell myself that I'm happy I'm not...
  9. i'm 2.5 years on the gluten-free diet and i am an extremely sensitive celiac. i rarely eat out ANYTHING...I come with my own food 99% of the time. I get so sick that it's not worth it for me to risk it. when i realized I was in control of if I felt good or bad, I made the decision to minimize. I go to weddings, ceremonies, get togethers, etc...I just bring...
  10. i have a large size lunch bag...i can fit in a square tupperware type thing, a drink, and fruit/and or chips. I have two "refreezable" ice thingys (one is a smiley face, one is an oreo, go figure) that i refreeze each night. i take it to work everyday, and everywhere i go
  11. Patti, I think this is further proof that we are a) related share the same brain or c) both.
  12. I'm a Ford lover...I've had mine for 9 years (Ford Taurus) and I love it. So there are still some ford lovers out there
  13. An elevated IgE level is often associated with the various eosinophillic disorders. Have you seen www.apfed.org? You may have eosinophilia in other parts...your stomach, intestine, or colon, not just your esophagus.
  14. Hey Lisa Are you near a whole foods, by chance? They have a store-brand one that I love and use for everything. Sorry, I don't have any other good suggestions. There are some good bakers on here, though. I'm sure they'll help ya out. Or do a "search" for pizza on here, and look in the "recipes" section, too. Laura
  15. Susan, I posted over in the other thread, but I wanted to add my happy birthdays to you again
  16. Aw, sweet Susan, it is your birthday!!!!!!!!!!!! Wishing you a very happy and special day. What did the dingos get you? xoxo
  17. I think you just answered your own question!!!! Damage from celiac does not disappear overnight. It can take MONTHS to heal. If you have only been gluten free for a couple of days....then it is not time yet to know if you have other intolerances or not!!! there are many, many celiacs who only have a problem with gluten. There are many who later on discover...
  18. think of gluten like rat poison. to us who have a problem with gluten, it IS poison. would you be comfortable eating poison twice a week? or even risk getting it through cross contamination? (that always helps me)
  19. Just a word of warning, if you ever want an "official diagnosis" of celiac disease, and he has not had a positive biopsy, he will be met with resistance from the general medical community. he would have to go back on a gluten filled diets for months. (not advocating anything, just sharing). get a copy of his results. you'll need to know also if they...

  21. hey there i notice you have "heriditary celiac disease" in your profile..what do you mean by that? (sorry, just trying to clarify, since having a family member with celiac does not mean that you have or will have celiac). if you haven't been diagnosed officially, you can't really know if you are a true celiac (celiac actually refers to villous atrophy...
