  1. Jillian, Girl, I completely understand!!!!!!! The place I work at is notorious for its wonder cooks and people who bring in magnificent food for pot lucks, etc. Oh, the irony. I'd send you a gluten free basket Laura
  2. thanks for the heads up, angie! draeko, you are very welcome. let us know what else we can do.
  3. You'll just have to ask to see the ingredients...just like any food product, they can all be the same end result (i.e., margarita) but different ingredients. But, usually they are safe. Still, worth asking.
  4. do you subscribe to "living without"...they just had a huge list of gluten-free restaurants (both chain and local, separated by state). you might want to pick it up if you can! Laura
  5. Open Original Shared Link check out this recent post...it was essentially the same question and there are some great suggestions! hope this helps!
  6. I have been on Welbutrin XL and did very well with it. It really depends on the person.
  7. Just wanted to add a great recipe that I made tonight. It is a modification of my mom's Chicken Tettrazini (or, Turkey Tettrazini). 2 stalks celery, chopped one package sliced mushrooms olive oil gluten free flour 1 can of gluten free mushroom soup (I use Progresso Creamy mushroom and thicken with gluten-free flour) cooked chicken or turkey, chopped...

  9. Molly, Please let us know what we can do to help. We really want everyone to be happy and healthy...and for some of us, that means being gluten free. If you have questions---no matter how silly they seem---please ask! Just remember...just because you might not see an "obvious" reaction doesn't mean that damage is being done. Strict gluten free is the...
  10. If you are eating something without knowing what is in it, you are not taking enough precautions to be 100% gluten free. In order to be gluten free, you must know the ingredients of everything you eat, every single time you put something in your mouth, and take precautions against cross contamination. I hope you figure it out.....Good luck!!!!! laura
  11. for a crust, a lot of times the "recipes" call for crushed up graham crackers (and then you add some butter), etc. I used gluten free cookies...like midels ginger snaps or pamelas shortbread, and crush them up.
  12. Welcome This is probably your best source for online, reliable information! It is frustrating that you can't get reliable info from a dietician, but I'm happy she referred you to the right place. Yes, it can vary from country to country, esp food labeling laws. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Check out that link....it has a bunch...
  13. andrea...don't you worry, I will DEFINITELY get my hands on the report! carla...you prob also had the 6050 Open Original Shared Link
  14. Brandy, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! Wow-a surprise, but SO exciting! Let's see....for me....I do things like yogurt leftovers (that is a BIG one for me) homemade soup (make a batch and then freeze them in individual containers...soup, chili, etc) salad with chicken I think you can do seafood in small amounts....shrimp I am a "big...
  15. zachsmom- yeast is fine.
  16. Or Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, microscopic colitis, parasites, infections... the list goes on. poor thing.
  17. i signed it in honor of you ladies! xoxo
  18. Soy itself is FINE for a Celiac. However, Soy SAUCE often has gluten/wheat in it. I would say most of them do, especially in prepared foods. That may be what you are thinking...it is often listed as something to look at, since most people wouldn't think about soy sauce!
  19. just wanted to ask...was the lymphocyte stuff in your small intestine or colon? (Sorry, I was confused and wasn't sure). I was tested twice for both types of microscopic colitis (I am having problems post-Celiac)...lympho and collangenous. I believe its damage is seen in the colon, not the small intestine (but please, correct me otherwise). Thats why...
  20. Thanks Its a pain, but its my method to make sure I'm gluten free. I get horribly sick from tiny amounts, and realized it was my own fault I was getting sick. I stopped doing those things that were ok for "some" and I got better.
  21. i also like the gluten free pantry mixes, as well as some of the bob's red mill (although some have reacted to it), and pamela's mix for brownies. I think the mixes are a strong start! We have made choc chip cookies, brownies, cookie "bars".... here is the BEST icing recipe. it is adapted from Wilton (the cake people!). We put it on a lot of our baked...
