  1. Here's what I know, and it seems like there are two issues at hand (this is all simplified, maybe someone else can add more!) 1. Most commercially grown oats (including Quaker) are grow in fields that are rotated with wheat/gluten. So they believe in the processing, wheat can get mixed in, which would explain why some people react to oats. There are...
  2. bambam, can you give us a little bit more info? did you prepare it at your house or did you eat out somewhere? was there any risk of cross contamination? what turkey did you use? (i don't think I've seen one either) I know that I get very emotional when I've been glutened and often end up crying for no reason. I think a lot of people on this board react...
  3. Wanted to add some pubmed links to abstracts of gluten/Celiac and autism. There are many out there, but thought this would be helpful to some (they are only abstracts, but will give you the reference info if you choose to find the article yourself). To search yourself, go to www.pubmed.com (abstracts are free) Open Original Shared Link Open Original...
  4. Open Original Shared Link ok, so apparently it is not a legume...but is often listed as one. but, it looks like it is often grown/rotated in fields with other legumes...hmmm.... bev, do you react to canola?
  5. I dont have one offhand...but yes, canola is a legume ...ok, well i thought it was...i know it is high in lectins. let me work on this. I'll see what I can find. xoxo Open Original Shared Link this site about lectins specifically mentions canola, too. sorry, bev.
  6. I think the Progresso one is actually "Creamy Mushroom" if I remember right? Or are they two separate ones, Lisa? One of Progresso's Clam Chowders is safe also. I think the "traditional" one is NOT safe...but the "thick and hearty" (or something like that, I don't have one in my pantry) is safe. But, please read labels!
  7. kolka, click on your name up at the top (what you are signed in as.) then click on the right hand corner "profile options". You can then find your posts and topics. If its not there, I'm not sure what happened. Maybe another moderator can help? Is this the one about autism you were looking for? Open Original Shared Link or this one? Open Original...
  8. Lisa----wow, that is a pretty yucky day. I'm sorry you had such a rough go of things. thank goodness we can "start all over" tomorrow!! get a good nights rest. xoxo
  9. annatto is one of those celiac urban legends caramel coloring is almost always (if not always) gluten free in America. If it is derived from wheat, then, because of the new FDA labeling laws, they would be required to identify it. Coke and products like that are safe. To be on the safe side, you could always call and double check for ones that you...
  10. Sandree, I think the most important thing I can stress is to do what is comfortable for you. There are many here that live in a house with gluten, and many who live in a gluten free house. It depends on many variables...only you can decide for you! I live in a house with gluten in moderation. I feel safe doing this because my husband is 110% supportive...
  11. Thanks for the great explanation, Ursula.
