  1. I'm glad the humor is coming through If I took life seriously I'd probably be dead by now. You were talking about Buffallo burgers in the last post. Yummmmm. I lived in Montana for 8 months ( bad failed marriage, long story) and had some of the best Buffalo burgers ever there. That and huckleberries. OMG. I'm drooling as I type. A word on burgers....
  2. You'll have to contact the theater directly, and that usually means corporate office, cause the guys at the theater won't have a fleeping idea what you're talking about. Pacific got back to me, though they're CA only I believe, and their nacho cheese is ok, but I have seen many nacho cheese like blends that have wheat added. Never assume something is safe...
  3. I totally forgot about this thread, lol. I was there and am now back, actually. Being scared, and this being in-family that had not been exposed to the diet, I showed up with a suitcase of food. Turns out there was no need really. My boyfriends family lives in Germantown and we went to the local Kroger store, and in their Health/Diet section, what do I see...
  4. I also do the Hobo purse at the theater thing, and did it well before gluten became an issue, though AMC nachos are gluten free, which was confirmed with me by Frito-Lay, everyone else has "propreitary cheese" which is kind of scary in its own right, not even on a gluten level. Sometimes I go to AMC just to have nachos ( I see a movie too, but pick it based...
  5. Tostitos are awesome, I've never had problems. Never had problems with the baked cheetos either, though be warned those things have a crack-like quality. Elonwy
  6. I also highly recommend the Triumph Dining cards. They come in different languages for different quisine, and explain what you can't have, what you can have, and what might be dangerous. I find they help me remember the rules for different quisine as well, and every wait person I've shown it to has loved it. I recommend asking them to show it to the kitchen...
  7. I left home when I was 17 because of a horribly abusive situation. I moved to another state where I had a friend, and started working for him while I crashed at his place. Through him I wound up falling into what has now been my career for 11 years, and I do very well for myself now. It was the best decision I ever made. I also didn't talk to my parents for...
  8. I can't do Amaranth in any form, it seems, I just really don't like the taste. I have just discovered Enjoy life granola and I am soo happy. I was very much a granola, heathly wheat bran(lol) type prior to diagnosis and its so nice to find a healthy gluten-free cereal that tastes good. And 7g of fiber per serving can't be beat. But I'm definitly not the cocoa...
  9. I have Duodenal ulcers because of taking so much advil and alleve. Have to take Tylenol now. Kinda scary seeing as how I'm only 28. I'm thinking its probably related. Elonwy
  10. California: Lea & PErrins the Original Worcestershire sauce "the burger booster" 10floz INgredients: vinegar, molasses, high fructose corn syrup, anchovies, water, onions, salt, garlic, tamarind extract, cloves, natural flavorings, chili pepper extract, hydrolyzed soy and corn protien. No mention of Malt. Elonwy
  11. Called the corporate office, took a couple weeks, but thier Nachos are gluten-free, thier manufacturor uses no Wheat in any of thier products ( other that the hot dog buns) and the modified food starh is from corn. So nacho cheese and chips are gluten-free. Thier popcorn oil is a coconut/corn oil blend and contains no gluten, and thier popcorn salt contains...
  12. This might help: http://www.care2.com/channels/solutions/food/471 elonwy
  13. Domino's buffalo wings are gluten-free?!?!?!? You just made my week. Elonwy
  14. You could also contact the nutritionists at the campuses you are looking to apply to. Every campus has one, and where they may not have all the answers, or even all the right ones, they'll usually have some idea or be willing to do the research. I work at a college campus, and the nutritionist here was pretty helpful, and I think learned a bit from helping...
  15. Anything anyone hands you at a party or that you get from someone you don't know is a bad idea. I personally use medicinal grade and know my sources, so I feel pretty comfortable with what I get. This is a big reason why I support legalizing it. Personally, it helps me enourmously when I have glutened symptoms, with the pain, and it settles my stomach...

    ARCHIVED Wonderful Dinner

I love it when that kind of stuff happens. YAY! ( Happy dance for you) Elonwy
  17. Rizla papers are gluten-free. I switched to them after getting Gluten reactions from Zig-Zag's. I would recommend bringing up the gluten aspect of the paper, seeing as it took me a while to figure out thats what was doing it. I have found them in many tobacco stores and liqour stores, though I am on the west coast. I'm going to go out on a big limb...

    ARCHIVED Sushi

My theory on the wasabi caution is that for a while mustard was suspect because of the vinegar, and most american "wasabi" is made with mustard. I go to sushi restaurants in little Tokyo in downtown LA, so everyone there is definitly Japanese. I thought wasabi was perfectly fine until I got my Triumph cards, and there are numerous debates on here about...
  19. The MSG is a flag, but thats only if you have MSG issues, I have problems with it. If they have an allergen listing on the can, that does look safe, and thier soy sauce is ok, so with that label, I would think its probably ok. I have no definitive info though. Elonwy
  20. I know thier soy sauce is ok, but Chow Mein noodles are traditionally wheat noodles. Is it listing wheat under another name( strain). Do you have the ingreds? Elonwy
  21. Welcome to the forum. I'm in the US, but I lived in Queensland when I was a kid, so HI. I myself just got diagnosed in July. Welcome to a whole new world huh? I accidently found the kraft list for australia one time. Open Original Shared Link Foudn this too, thought its for aussies living outside australia Open Original Shared Link Is vegemite gluten...
  22. When I was first "diagnosed" with IBS, I was told to avoid artificial sweeteners, especially splenda, as they agravate gastro symptoms. I avoid them. Elonwy
  23. I turned to a complete stranger in a grocery store aisle once and exclaimed "I can eat this!" She scurried away like I was going to beat her with it. I think it was Nestle Hot Cocoa ( Which says 100% gluten-free right on the box). I have also been known to dance and sing in the grocery store. Hey as long am I'm happy and no one is getting hurt. Elonwy
  24. I guess I should have added that. Whoops. Open Original Shared Link I got the set of six. They are nicely laminated, so I think they'll last me a while, and I have mine in my purse always. Elonwy
  25. I quizzed my BF. We live together, so the relationship qualifies. He said, the only time he gest embarrased is when it gets takled about too much at table. I actually feel the same way, I don't really want to spend an entire meal with friends or family discussing my eating problems. He's totally cool with me taking forever to order though, and is very...
