  1. Tomatoes have been giving me issues too, latetly. Odd new developement there. It may be a tomato thing. I've never had a problem with tinkyada though. Elonwy
  2. I do want to point out that the mini altoids and the altoids gum both list wheat as an ingredient. Sucks, cause I really liked the gum. Elonwy
  3. I'm fascinated and skeptical about the Corona comment. Where did you get that information from? I drove across town to buy a six-pack of Ramapo Valley beer from the local Bevmo. It's pretty good. It sweet, but not really sweet, though it has a hint of cinnamon on the first sip, and its a little more carbonated than your average beer. I passed out shots...
  4. Necon 7/7/7 Which is a generic for Orth TriCycline 7/7/7 is Gluten free. I spoke with the company directly. Which is awesome because tis only 7 bucks instead of 20. More money for gluten-free food. Elonwy
  5. I bought it and wasn't satisfied. I found Wheat Free, Worry Free to be a much more useful book. Elonwy
  6. My eating habits are not that different now than they were before gluten free. I was always pretty lo-carb ( I live on what I like to call a phase 1 1/2 of the south beach diet). I would take a cure in an instant. To not have to worry, to not have to peruse EVERYTHING that passed near my mouth or skin, I could live without that. They are working on stuff...
  7. I get the same thing with Gluten. I want to keep eating even though it feels terrible. ACK! Its aweful. I just gave myself chills thinking about it. Elonwy
  8. Their montana choc chip cookies taste exactly like chips ahoy to me. I love thier bread and thier English muffins have become an addiction. Elonwy
  9. There is a correlation. Same thing. When I've been glutened I feel like I pee every ten minutes. I also wake up in the middle of the night and pee. When I'm as gluten free as can be....normal pee-er again. Body trying to flush out "toxins"? Elonwy
  10. Or they got glutened and the evil gluten persona took over. I'm a different person when I'm "on" gluten, and it ain't pretty. Elonwy

    ARCHIVED Reflux?

I had horrible reflux, and was told I had a hiatal hernia. That and insomnia were the first indications I had of celiac. I went on reflux meds and they did NOTHING. Once they got in there with a camera, they said no you don't, but you do have duodenal ulcers, keep taking the meds. Once I went gluten-free, I had no relfux AT ALL. I stopped taking the meds...
  12. I've got the cards from triumph, and have been going on about how great they are on here since I got them. I eat alot of ethnic food, I tend to not go to "diner" style restaurants, and I tend to go to restaurants where no one speaks english. The Triumph cards are perfect. I had the one from Celiac.org, and it seemed a little busy and hard to read. You have...
  13. I emailed them as well and got a less positive response, but I'm on the West Coast and we're a little behind on people being informed. I also think I got forwarded to the mail office instead of my local one. I'm going to contact them directly this evening. This is the email I got: I’m sorry to hear about your recently diagnosed Celiac Disease. Unfortunately f...
  14. You're not. Theres even a condition called caregiver stress. I'm not doing it now except for myself, but I have been a caregiver (exhusband, major heart surgery, long story) and after taking care of one sick person for 6 months I was ready to just give up on life it messed up my head so bad. It can be amazingly overwhelming, and I can't even comprehend having...
  15. Thank you bronco bux. You helped describe the play on words better than I did, I was fighting to figure out how to say that. I think the basic crux is that its written as if someone were speaking it ( with an accent no less), which makes it harder to interpret, so it is something easliy misconstrued, but I definitly feel it is not a deliberate attack on...
  16. Open Original Shared Link Go to this link. You're reading the paragraph wrong. Granted it took me a couple minutes, but shes talking about wanting to be Gluten INTOLERANT so she can be pissed at gluten. NOT that gluten intolerant people bug her. Its a very subtle semantic thing. She says: I want to be gluten intolerant too. Then she says "I mean, how...
  17. The one that sets me off for some reason is "Oh that's just bad luck" WTF? My genes are bad luck? Like if I'd changed something about anything in my life along the way it wouldn't have happened to me because its just LUCK? GOD! that one drives me insane for some reason. I get a lot of heartful "that sucks!" and "how to you cope?" I stare at them and reply...
  18. Wow that's awesome. It sounds like they'd be partial to changing to accomodate if you planned ahead. That's really cool. Maybe this year we'll go a week or so off from valentines day so its not so busy if they're cool about it. Also, maybe you could forward the whole email to me : elle871@yahoo.com so I can reference it while talking to them. YAY, I hope...
  19. They are brand new and kind of hard to find on the web site. I love thier granola and bars, so I'll probably break down and order some. Elonwy
  20. Thank you for bringing that up. Thats a Valentines day tradition with us, I'm going to contact them and see what happens. Elonwy
  21. I had it, was diagnosed with it at the same time as Celiac. It's just bacteria. It's unfortunately bacteria that causes Ulcers, but hey. You take some horrible antibiotic for ten days and POOF, all better. Used to have the gnawing stomach hunger-like pains and it went away after the antibiotics killed the H Pylori. It's likely I got mine from a swimming pool...
  22. Planters are owned by Kraft and as such will list any Wheat Barley Rye or Oats on the label, so sofar so good on those nuts. Elonwy
  23. Check out this website I just found. I want to order this book. I read an article about this woman that directed me here, she traveled constantly for work, so had to eat out most of the time and was diagnosed Celiac so came up with this. How cool is that? www.glutenfreepassport.com Elonwy
  24. I can't find them in stores here and miss cheerios like blazes, so was wondering if anyone had tried the new Honey O's yet. I'm getting sick of spending tons of money and then hating the stuff I buy. I love thier granola, but haven't tried anything else from then cause its not stocked on shelves here. Elonwy
  25. Yeah what brand was it? I eat dry roasted nuts all the time. Put em in stir fry's too. Yum. Elonwy
