  1. this is interesting, my doctor suggested I get some of this as I was telling him I am exhausted some days. I did get some marked gluten, dairy, and soy free but haven't tried it yet. it's really hard for me to try new things, I'm always afraid of getting sick. I hope you're feeling better!
  2. before I was diagnosed I had bouts where I was vomiting uncontrollably with D for hours on end. nausea, dizziness and brain fog mixed in. once I was diagnosed I gave up gluten and felt much better, but still had issues, until I got my allergy to dairy and soy diagnosed. then I was a new woman! hope he gets to the bottom of his issues soon. if he's off gluten...
  3. oh my, I made broccoli yesterday, guess I should go look at it!
  4. I can either feel it within an hour, or a day later. hope you're feeling better now. after getting sick too many times, I just went all in and don't eat out anymore. it's a major lifestyle adjustment, but all I would do is worry and I realized it wasn't worth it.
  5. I am so glad you have a plan for getting out of there. it really is not a place you should be at any longer than absolutely necessary. sorry you're living this nightmare
  6. YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so happy to hear this wonderful news, major congrats
  7. sounds wonderful mamaw, you're right, if we are determined enough, we can find a way
  8. just wanted to pop back in here and give you the report on how I made out being away for 5 days, which is something I wouldn't have attempted before. it was fantastic! I had no issues with breakfast or lunch, as i have portable foods for those meals. dinner was easy peasy. I rehydrated my meal a few hours early in my thermos, and by dinner time I had a piping...
  9. Coleman is fantastic. I just got back from my holiday away. I took all my dehydrated meals I made, and rehydrated them early in the day, they were piping hot at dinner time. definitely preheat it with boiling water first.
  10. Hi and welcome. I have celiac and am hypothyroid, but I've never heard one causes the other. I'm sure others will be more knowledgeable on this. I imagine once you're following strict gluten free you'll start feeling better in ways you didn't even realize you needed.
  11. keeping my fingers crossed and sending positive thoughts your way
  12. thanks! I am allergic to dairy, so those are not a problem, and I don't eat any food I didn't make myself, so that's all good too. I appreciate the info!
  13. I use the Blue line of food now too. I was finding I was shying away from cuddling with my little guy, not fair to him or me. so I switched his food and his treats, and we are good to go
  14. I am so happy for you, what a great victory! I hope you enjoy the heck out of it
  15. icelandgirl, well, I think you may have been on to something. I didn't have almond milk yesterday and my bloat was down. this morning I didn't have it again, I usually put it in my oatmeal that I've been eating with no problems, and feel like I bloat right up after. I am going to stay away from the carageenan for the next few days and see how it goes. thanks...
  16. thanks for all the feedback. I don't think exercise is an issue in my life, as I am a yoga and pilates teacher, and in addition to the classes I teach, I take additional classes. I am thin, had lost lots of weight, and am actually happy with my weight and my size, it's just stomach bloat that drives me crazy. I am working on upping my calories. we shall...
  17. I am so sorry you went through this, I hope you can resolve it and get the test done.
  18. icelandgirl, I do have a little almond milk every morning, not even a full cup though also, I saw you wrote about MFP saying you should have 1800 a day to maintain and you were only getting 1500. I'm curious if you upped your calories above 1500 now trying to get to 1800. MFP has me at 1420 a day and I never even get close. yesterday I came in at...
  19. Nicole, I hope you feel better soon! and yes, I really do wish the reaction was immediate, this is getting very very old
  20. sorry you are going through this. as far as why do conditions happen to us, do we ever really know? I take meds for my bones, I would scare me more not to and have more of a risk of breaks. hope you get to the bottom of this.
  21. this is a great thread. I lost some weight over the past few years, when I went gluten-free, df and soy free the rest of what I had been trying to lose came off. but now I am battling with bloat. I have mentioned it here a few times. I don't eat any gluten-free packaged foods, I make all my own food fresh and whole. a few days ago I gave up the few grains...
  22. I am sorry you're having this problem. I never leave the house hungry, and always have food with me, you just never know. I think you have to ask yourself what you really want. do you want to continue on this path and feel sick all the time? do you want to treat yourself well and be healthy? I know how sick I get with my problem foods, and it would...
  23. I just made some awesome salmon. i really just bake it with a bit of olive oil. I make extra because I love it the next day cold on a salad
  24. soy is in everything processed for the most part. I found the only way to control it all is to eat whole real foods like my grandmother would recognize. the processed prepared stuff had to go.
  25. icelandgirl, thanks for the much needed hug. I had the small dark choc enjoy life bars, and would really love those treats once in a while. just knowing they were there was enough. when I got the evil word on choc I did get quite upset, it was way worse to give up then the rest. now, there really isn't much for that little treat when needed. it's only...
