Guys, I managed to find an internet connection while I wait even LONGER FOR THE BUS. From Calgary when I left at 12:30 am he said I'd get back home at 8pm, BUT I get here to Saskatoon at 4 pm and they say there is no bus leaving until 10 pm. So I'm stuck, and I'll get there at 1 am. When I get back to Yorkton I'm definitely filing for a huge complaint...thats 3 re-routes, all greyhounds fault. D worse yet, my cell phone has run out of power and I have no adapter. @#*($&!(*&@! I just wanna sit around and cry, hardest 3 days OF MY LIFEEEE.
~ lisa ~
Oh my gosh, megga huggggggs to you Lisa. If I could sit with you and hold you hand, I would.
It hurts my heart that you are doing this all on your own. But, I do know that you are a strong cookie. You know that you have all of us behind you, so you're not really alone, just not in person.
We can talk about your appointment later, let's just get you home first.
It would be so cool if there was a Canadian in the Saskatoon that could take you in and then take you to the bus when you KNOW it will depart.
I wish I could be there to help. But, you are strong. Let us know when you get home.
I'll be thinking about you until I hear back.

Welcome, with hopes you can learn a little from us, but I expect more from DingoGirl
Oh, my, the world wide web. I, too, once googled a medical inquiry and found my OWN post.
DingoGirl, there is someone at the door for you.

I do not think that you doctor is clear about Celiac.
I was diognoses at 51. Celiac can be diognosed at any age. Years ago doctors thought celiac was only seen in children through failure to thrive. In addition many with Celiac will gain weight.
I think that you are on the right track if he is gluten free and dairy free. If his symptoms continue, I would suggest seeing a GI, though.
I am sure that other will post the same.

Welcome Tina:
Four years is way too long for symptoms like yours to go unchecked!
Celiac can have up to 200 symptoms and many are the ones that you have mentioned.
Celiac can be diognoses by a blood test, endoscopy exam and biopsy or response to a gluten free diet.
I would recommend to you that you read as much as you can from this site. There is a wealth of information here and good people to answer your questions.

When you go to a restaurant, you need to do your homework before you go when you are able to do that. No one wants to be unfair to the staff or the kitchen crew and less the management.
We don't need to be cranky when we go to restaurants. We need to set good examples. Call ahead, take the the manager or the chief or take time to talk to them personally when it is not a busy time for the business.
We are the ones with issues. When we choose to eat out, you just cant expect every dinning facility to comply. This is just not reality.
Choose well and check ahead.

Ana:
Celiac is celiac. With a positive blood test and positive endoscopy that's a pretty clear definition.
I, myself, when feeling my lowest, thought that I had intestinal cancer. And to be finally diagnosed with Celiac was something to celebrate. I did not have cancer or other ailments that needed drugs to cure, or just maintain.
I can control this disease. I don't have to take drugs and if I control my diet, I can live a healthy life style.
Every gluten that you consume will continue to destroy your intestines. You need to know that gluten is considered "rat poison".
I want to welcome you to this board and would suggest that you read, read and read somemore. It is the best source of information that you can get.
I am sure that others will post and welcome you as well. Your health is in information. You are in good company here.

What a trip you are.

Angie:
The bottom line here is that you need to suck in all the information that you can find. Digest it all. And, then, do the things that are best for you and your family.
If you can read labels, able to contact companies, rely with confidence with the good folk here, shut, what more would you need.
She does not give you options, YOU do. The power to a health life can truly be in your hands alone.
You might go to the support group to listen. If you find a comfort zone there, great, if not don't go back. I don't have the opportunity for a support group, but I sure find one. here.
Lisa
PS: Support woman is full of it. If she is just eating gluten free labled foods...she's starving to death.

I'm just curious what causes these odd characters on some of the posts.
Here's an example:
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 cup “instant” (5-minute) rice
I've noticed that this is not random but is consistent with a particular poster or two.
I thing that is a European type face. We had a Polish exchange student and the alphabet is different than those used in the US. And, perhaps not limited to Europe.

ditto, as I went to the store today and looked. Not here, but perhaps elsewhere.
Please check lables before you buy or serve. The key to all of this is learning to read lables. Always verify for you self.

It's a little too chilly for that in Calgary, but you can dance nekked up and down the halls and on the table
And I have NO doubt that she will

Good luck Steve, I'll be thinking about you.
You could try to bring your own salad dressing and order a simple salad. Applebee's a hard one.

I would think that a presence of a fever would indicate the flu.
But you have to remember, that often after being gluten free for some time, you react totally different to a gluten exposure.
The blisters would certainly indicate a gluten exposure.
I don't know if this was a help and I know that everyone reacts differently. I have been gluten free for almost a year and a half and my gluten reactions vary quite a bit.

Now, I have thrown up after a glutening. You may have some gastritis which results in the foul burping.
I would recommed that you stick to some plain foods for a while and see if it will improve.

pretty sure there is going to be soy sauce in there.. maybe not.. I found a link for a copy cat of the sauce made with worcestershire sauce which isn't gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link Sorry if i dug up an old thread, but I too was searching google for the answer.
_~~! First Post woot! Jack Daniels sauce is so delicious I'd eat it on my vacation time and just be sick with it..
I just wanted to add a note here. Lee & Perrins Worcester Sause IS gluten free.

Boost and Ensure are gluten free, except for the Chocolate Malt.

I try to use Paul Newman's products because profits are donated.
