  1. I use Pacific Plain Rice Milk for cereal and I can't tell the difference.
  2. I don't think it's stupid at all to want to be certain. It's an inconvenience that i would love to not have ,but you do get used to it. Good luck!
  3. I used to have reflux a lot, but since stopping gluten (and dairy) i never have reflux.
  4. My stomach seemed to get much more sensitive after having the gallbladder removed, but i also think i've always had celiac.
  5. I have asthma too and it's definately made worse by dairy.
  6. Hi. Sorry you're having troubles. You might want to see a podiatrist to see if you would benefit from orthotics for your shoes. They really help keep everything supported. Once you're doing a little better it's important to have very good posture and to strengthen the muscles supporting your joints. I had physical therapy to show me the correct postures...
  7. Chrissy, Imodium is okay, as far as I know. I wouldn't feel bad about calling the doctor. I hope she gets better soon. Let us know how she's doing. Good luck. x
  8. I almost never go out to eat anymore either. It's actually made me a much better cook. Like someone else said on here, it's kind of a fun challenge to make anything with substitute ingredients. My husband wanted a white cake for Valentine's Day, so I made one and it tasted so good he honestly couldn't tell the difference from the old kind. Woohoo.
  9. Imodium works better than Pepto, but if you can get an rx I would say Robinal Forte, Symax or Bentyl really helps cramps a lot. Also if you can eat a banana and honey will soothe your stomach, along with as much water as possible. Everyone is different, but that is what helps me with Celiac and Crohn's too. When I have the joint pain I take a warm bath...
  10. Breakfast: Cream of Buckwheat, cinnamon raisin toast, toast w/ honey, a banana, cranberry juice, smoothies, pancakes or waffles w/ maple syrup. Lunch: soup or chili that i made and froze or a grilled free cheese sandwich with some veggies, peeled fruit, mac n cheese Dinner: Stir fry of some sort, spaghetti, lasagna, grilled stuff, baked yukon...

    ARCHIVED Caffiene?

It bothers my stomach. I dont know if that's from Crohn's or just a problem with IBS in general.
  17. I have hypermobility and degenerative joint disease. I think it's from having malabsorption for so long without a diagnosis.
  18. My husband has brought these to me to eat as a surprise sometimes. Yikes. Nice to find out now.
  19. My allergy tests didn't show a wheat or dairy allergy, but my intestines are definately intolerant to both and I have celiac.
  20. To anyone who misses cream of wheat and can tolerate buckwheat, try cream of buckwheat. It's really good !
  21. Hope you feel better soon, Liz. It takes a while before you're not tempted to cheat as much. It's harder when you're feeling good in a way, because it really DOES seem like it must be in your head. Plus how can something so good make you sick? Anyway, hang in there. x
  22. I'm always cold too. I dress in layers, wear Wristies and take fish oil with gla capsules and vitamin e occasionally. That seems to warm me up...sometimes to the point of being too hot. I've been freezing my whole life too and would love to change that. My thyroid has been checked a hundred times but it's good.
  23. I've heard Dr. Pepper has prunes in it, but I'm not sure if that's true. If so, maybe that bothered your stomach, although I wonder if the diet would have prunes also? I love Dr. Pepper and it always bothers my stomach. I haven't tried the diet because diet drinks always taste terrible to me.
  24. Doesnt the law regarding labelling change soon?
  25. I'll have to look for Earth Balance. Thanks.
