    ARCHIVED Restricted Diet

My dh does not use flour. Really the only gluten in the house is their cereal and bread. Everything else is gluten-free. Dh even makes gluten-free pancakes even though I rarely eat them We have seperate condiments and he can only have his gluten in one area of the kitchen. I am just really struggling. I feel awful even on no processed foods...

    ARCHIVED Restricted Diet

Yes it is possible. I have been slowing going through the list of things I do. I have especially been looking at my shampoo and chapstick. I am the only one who is gluten-free in the household. So dh and I are going back through the routines to make sure I am not getting cc. It is just so hard to be this sick again. I hate it. Thanks, Hez

    ARCHIVED Restricted Diet

I think I am going to have to see the doc. It seems to be getting worse not better. It is just so frustrating! I have been gluten-free for almost two years and have been feeling great. I think this is really getting me depressed as well. Thanks everyone for your ideas! Hez
  5. I am pretty sure I was glutened around Christmas. I have had the "D" ever since. Usually, when I get glutened the "D" lasts for about three weeks and eases up in the fourth. I am now six weeks into this and still feeling horrible. So I decided to cut out all processed foods to see if I could get myself better. Started the "diet" yesterday. I am trying...
  6. I have eaten them in the past with no problems. However, I have not eaten them recently. Hope you feel better soon. Hez
  7. Be careful with the delimex taquitos, some are gluten-free and some are not (I think the chicken are okay but the beef have soy sauce, but it is clearly labeled). Love them with fresh guacamole! Hez
  8. I had only been gluten-free for a couple of months. Dd was eating animal crackers in the car, I love them, they have a hint of vanilla. I asked her to share and she did. I praised her for sharing! Popped the animal in my mouth, just started to enjoy the hint of vanilla when I realized, I have CELIAC! Rolled down the window and started spiting at every...
  9. I tried to buy this today and they were out. I am not a huge beer drinker but wanted to compare it to New Grist, which I like. The liquor guy said that the Red Bridge has been very popular and that A-Busch underestimated how popular it would be. He cannot get the stock he wants and if he does it is gone quickly. Just glad to see it sell! Hez
  10. Sending positive thoughts and prayer your way! Hez
  11. I am a sucker for salted chips and nuts. When I was pregnant it was chips with salsa! Hez
  12. No one tells you the joys of parenting ahead of time! I am so sorry it was a rough weekend. Hez
  13. Last year Gluten Free Living magazine had a great article on blue cheese. My take from the article is that most blue cheeses are safe. However, the reason behind that theory is that even if the cheese is started from a bread culture that by the time the finshed product is ready the gluten is no longer there. Okay, I am horrible at explaining things...
  14. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Nothing is worse than watching your child feel rejected, pained or wronged in some way. I also hate that everything is about food! We are not the only ones with issues. There are those that have food allergies! I just hate how everything has become about food Hez
  15. Hi Mark, Welcome to the board! I posted a similar question last week and did not get a great response What I did find out is that Russel Stovers chocolates are gluten-free, with the exception of smores and cookies, but that it is processed on the same equipment as wheat. I am not sure if I am willing to risk the cc. However, it looked like...
  16. Welcome to the board! There are several people on here like yourself where it took years to get a dx. I am so sorry you suffered for so long. Here is to your good health going gluten-free! Hez
  17. Here is what Russell Stover says on their website- Do your products contain gluten? Answer: To the best of our knowledge, our products are gluten free
  18. I wonder if the statement was a cya? Anyone had issues with Russel Stover? Thanks, Hez
  19. I would love a box of chocolates for valentines day! My dh got a box of chocolates for the holiday and I wanted one so badly But they were Russell Stover and had a produced in the same facility as wheat warning so I avoided them (had already been glutened and feeling horrible). Does anyone know of a carmel and nut mix of boxed chocolates that are...
  20. Nut thins and Amy's has a decent protocol as well and you still got glutened. Could it be anything else or was the only thing? Hopefully, you are feeling better and will have a good night's rest. Hez

    ARCHIVED Houston

Please excuse the rant and please do not be offended. Why is it impossible to find any information on Houston?! This is not the only forum I have looked into. Do no celiacs live in this major metropolitan area? Just very frustrated. Hez
  22. Here is a link to my favorite cream of anything soup recipe. It is fairly easy, okay, not as easy as opening a can, but those days are over. I use it just like I normally would in my recipe. Open Original Shared Link Hez
  23. I have never had issue with their soup before. However, if I remember correctly (sorry if I am off) you are very sensitive? I am sensitive but I can have some products that you cannot, like nut thins (that is if my memory is right and that is very shaky these days). Is there a cya statement about wheat in their facility? Hez PS-Sorry you are sick...
  24. Can you have corn? If you can I love the Corn Thins. They hold up so much better than a rice cracker. They are thin and crispy, perfect for lox and cream cheese! Hez
  25. Hi Amy! Welcome to the board. There are many people on here that do not have a official dx. I feel all forms of dx are acceptable! I would think that the cost of gluten-free food would not be too different. You will continue to eat organic fruits and vegies as you have already been doing. You thought the only added cost would be for orgainic chicken...
