Item C. What did your GI say? The small intestine is as large as a tennis court when spread out. Easy to miss damaged areas. How many biopsies were actually taken? I would recommend a second GI consult. Obtain all your records, including those blood tests. Just looking at what you posted does not tell the entire story. -

Again, my money would be on celiac disease. It has been a year since you were last tested. You could have had some gluten exposure. Maybe a tiny amount every single day. Maybe you have become more sensitive to gluten. Maybe 20 parts per million is too high for you personally. There must be a reason why people with celiac disease are not always healing... -

Yes. I assuming you are not doing the slaughtering and are buying the meat from a butcher/store. But check the label if buying it at the store. Some companies will add gravy mixes, etc. So, read the label! -

I think you are correct in standing your ground. Statins have had documented side effects. Only you, along with a supportive doctor, can determine what is the best course of treatment for you. All those symptoms can be attributed to several autoimmune disorders. If you have celiac disease, how are your antibodies? That would be the place to start. Did he measure LDL particle density? There are two types: hard/tiny and soft/fluffy. What about your triglycerides? I have been reading about inflammation has a cause for heart disease and not cholesterol. It looks like she just had one celiac test, the TTG which was negative. If you suspect celiac disease, you should ask for the rest of the panel. Kids that young might not get a positive on the TTG (even old people like me). Then there is the possibility that she is seronegative which affects about 10% of celiacs. Who is the customer here? You have a RIGHT to your medical records. It is in your best interest to get and obtain all medical records (including lab results). You could just consume foods rich in those vitamins or minerals that you are lacking. Get a little sun for the vitamin D. Not sure where you live or work, but deficiencies in Vitamin D are common during winter. If you choose to supplement, follow the recommended dosage. Yeah, your GI seems like he does not know anything about celiac disease. Run, don't walk, to another GI for a consult. If celiac disease was suspected, a simple blood test could have been ordered prior to the endoscopy. Call the hospital or the clinic where you are taking the CT scan. They will be able to tell you if there is a possibility of a gluten exposure (though very unlikely). Your nurse is wrong. It only takes one positive in the celiac blood panel. It does not have to be the most common positive which is the TTG IgA. There is a reason why there are several celiac tests!
