  1. I have an air popper and I also have a microwave popcorn popper. It cost me ten bucks at my local grocery store. I think Walmart carries them and Superstore in Canada. Open Original Shared Link I eat popcorn almost every other day. I buy a big bag at Costco.
  2. I think I have only had one since going gluten-free. I used to get those all the time.
  3. I love that line. My mil kept saying "you're so skinny" and I wanted to say "you're so fat!" But that would be mean. She doesn't say that to me anymore, luckily.
  4. I have reacted to their raisins, but I think it may just be raisins in general.
  5. Thanks for sharing your story. They thought I had CF when I was about three years old. But that was in the 70's and they didn't test me for anything else. I always wonder what they would have found back then.
  6. No the Safeway in Banff does not have the same selection as the Canmore Safeway. There is a natural health store called Weeds & Seeds (211 Bear Street #103 phone# 403-760-5060) in Banff. They carry things like Glutano breakfast bars, gluten-free cereal, and other gluten-free snack type items. Coyotes restaurant has real chefs and they can accomodate...
  7. Please post. I start my new outdoor job on Monday and I can feel the allergies already. LOL
  8. Come to think of it, I met my husband when I had this mysterious illness and we've been married almost nine years. I only figured out that I had gluten intolerance last year. You know we couldn't even have sex in the beginning because I had a long bout of D. A significant other really has to like and accept you with all your good and bad. Since we...
  9. There are so many ups and downs with this crazy celiac disease. It is so hard to stay positive sometimes. I can't imagine your pain, but I feel for you and I wish you the best. I'm sure you'll find the way to beat this and not let it beat you.
  10. Since going gluten-free, anxiety is not a problem for me anymore. Of course I worry, but it is not at all like before. I had anxiety out the you know what.
  11. Here are a couple of choices. The need for a celiac diagnosis may be important for insurance and piece of mind. But what if your tests came back inconclusive or negative. Then what would you think? You should try and get a diagnosis first. However, I can see how this may be difficult without insurance. Then you could try the gluten-free diet after that...

    ARCHIVED Pink Eye?

I've had pink eye many years ago. I think you need to get a prescription to treat it. JFHC sounds exactly like something I say.
  13. That is so kind of you. First I'll check all the stores here.
  14. Oops, I was wrong there is one available in Canada. Thanks for the info. Mind you I haven't seen it where I am. But now I will look harder.
  15. That is such a great idea. Hopefully, I won't have to live in a city for much longer. If I can get back to a smaller setting, I think I will try setting this up too.
  16. Wow do you sound like me except that I am slightly older. I'm 5'10" (and a half) and 120 pounds. My weight has not changed since going gluten-free, it just sits at 120. Prior to being gluten-free I would go up and down from like 110 to 130. I take the same vitamins as you do. I eat constantly. If I could tolerate dairy I'm sure that I would gain about...
  17. You are on to something. I think it was actually part of the new budget today. LOL
  18. Yep, Lea and Perrins in the U.S. I have yet to find a gluten-free worchestershire sauce in Canada.
  19. Sharkies are gluten-free and I think cf.
  20. I checked some of the ingredients on their website and some bars have oats and malt. So, it would be best if you contacted the company.
  21. Honestly, try peeling it and then you'll know part of the answer.
  22. MSG gives me headaches and heart palpitations but as far as I know this has nothing to do with gluten. I have avoided MSG for years.
  23. My doctor did blood tests years apart and both were negative. So, she didn't send me for an endoscopy. I've had a colonoscopy and was told I have IBS and to eat more fiber. I went gluten-free on my own because I was sick of being sick. I saw my doctor one month after being gluten-free and she was very impressed with the improvements in my health. She...
  24. I felt that way in the beginning. I accidentally was glutened at easter and I was so sick (vomiting, D, brain fog) that there is no way I would willingly eat gluten again. It really does get easier and you won't have to think constantly because it will become routine.
  25. I don't have a bbq but friends and family do. So I put various items in foil (because their bbqs are contaminated) such as salmon, halibut, and veggies.
