  1. I read on this board that Bell and Evans gluten-free Chicken Nuggets are good. I think people found them at Whole Foods, but I have yet to find them. I did find this on the company website: Open Original Shared Link
  2. I've been so busy lately, I haven't had time to check the board. I am also sorry to read that gfp is not going to be posting anymore. I've learned a lot from his past posts, and he's got a good sense of humor.
  3. AmandaD - Thanks for posting that. I just went and looked it up. It is a really long list, which is great. Lots of great products to choose from.
  4. I check the ingredients on all of my personal care products. I use Kiss My Face deoderant and shaving cream (which is not like typical shaving cream). Both are gluten-free. Here's a list from their website of their products that DO contain gluten. Do your products contain Gluten? No, most are gluten-free. Here is the list of products in our line that...
  5. Thank you for bringing life back into this post. I missed it the first time around. I'm going to go look for some tomorrow at Whole Foods. They sound great.
  6. Sissy Welcome! And hang in there. If you do indeed have Celiac, and it sounds like you do, it does get easier. The time will come when you don't even think about it... really it's true. It may take time, but you'll get there - Think positive. You have to remind yourself how lucky you are, and try not to get discouraged. We have lunch brought in...
  7. Mariann - Thanks for the additional info. I try that.
  8. Keep the tips coming! This is a great place to share information. The gluten-free diet is a hard at first, but this board really helps. I almost always find an answer to my questions by searching old posts. You find out pretty quickly that you're not alone. Take care!
  9. Not sure about your pork chops, but Hormel does have a list of their gluten-free items on this website. Open Original Shared Link
  10. Robina - Welcome and thanks for the great tip! I love making shakes/smoothies at home. I'll have to give them a try.
  11. Helena – I’ve never heard of Nupack, so I’m not sure how helpful this will be. I eat rice all the time. I usually buy basmati rice and cook it over the stove. The ingredient on the package is just “white basmati rice”. I’ve also tried those microwavable packages of plain white rice. This was a lifesaver when we remodeled our kitchen. I had no problems...
  12. My digestive issues started in college about 22 years ago.. I thought I had a sensitive stomach, and I had to deal with it. Looking back there were a lot of clues: 1. I gave up eating cereal for breakfast in college because it made me so sick. I thought it was too "heavy" for my system to digest, so I ate fruit instead. 2. The fact that beer was...
  13. I take Yummi Bears multi-vitamins. They are the only vitamin I've found that don't give me a stomach ache. They are free of: yeast, wheat, milk, egg, soy, gluten and salt. You can buy them at drugstore.com.
  14. I used to drink herbal tea all the time before going gluten-free. After I started eating gluten-free, I realized my favorite herbal tea had barley in it. So sad....I had to throw it out. The stupid thing is, that tea always made my stomach hurt, but I never realized it was the tea. It was Celestial Seasonings English Toffee Dessert Tea - contains roasted...
  15. I will be thinking of you... try not to worry too much. Most of the time everything ends up to be fine. I will pray that it's only a cyst. During my last exam my Dr. found two cysts. I know it is stressful to keep going back for tests, but try not to let it worry you.
  16. Thank you for posting the list!
  17. I'm too afraid to try oats. I just don't want to take a chance. Mayflowers - let us know how you do adding oats back into your diet.
  18. Oh yes, a cat's life is hard. Unfortunately I'm not allowed outside to chase birds, and my owners don't allow mice in the house. But I get plenty to eat; my pre-packaged food is tasty and gluten-free! Get this.. I have to get my exercise by chasing fake mice... so insulting.
  19. Yes - It is not for me for sure. My dad has it all the time, with no problems. Everyone is different.
  20. I had to go to an off-site work retreat last year for 3 days. Luckily I'm good friends with one of the people on the planning committee, so she did her best to make sure I had gluten-free food to eat. Of course, I did run the risk of cross-contamination, but it worked out fine. I didn't get sick. Breakfast: lots of fruit orange juice milk hard boiled...
  21. I also have read a lot of scary stuff about Splenda, but you can't believe everything you read, right? I also believe where's there's smoke there's fire. Anyhow, what I do know is that Splenda is not for me. I get intense stomach pain when I have too much Splenda. If I have a little now and then, I'm ok. But, if I have a too much, I'm in pain. For example...
  22. Orgran makes a gluten-free vegetable-base gravy mix. All you have to do is add water. I bought mine on Amazon. Check out their gluten-free goumet food items.
  23. Boost or Ensure could help you add calories to your diet. I drink Boost, and all of the flavors EXCEPT Chocolate Malt are gluten-free. I lost about 12 pounds after going gluten-free, and drinking a Boost everyday helped me to stop loosing weight. It also helped me get some vitamins. I am pretty sure Ensure is gluten-free.
  24. Montana Julie - Yes, a tiny amount of gluten can make you sick, but some people are more sensitive than others. It really depends on the person. I can get really sick from eating just a little amount. I have to be really careful with cross-contamination. But remember, even if a tiny bit of gluten doesn't make you feel sick, it can still cause damage...
  25. On the smoothie idea... use a Boost in your smoothie. My favorite recipe: Frozen banana Frozen strawberries Plain yoghurt One chocolate boost
