  1. It really can be so frustrating--and worse because you are so ill I would suspect the Nut Thins--for all the advertising on the box, they are made on lines that also process gluten. I can not tolerate them, and I've read about others having problems with them. If you're very sensitive or still healing, I would omit anything made on shared lines for now...
  2. I haven't had a sinus infection since I went gluten-free 5 years ago. Prior to that, I had them often and took way too many antibiotics. When the antibiotics failed to work, I was given steroids--pills and injections. I still have allergic rhinitis, but keep that at bay with sinus irrigation and Nasacort AQ when necessary.
  3. The same thing happened to me. I agree with the testing--both for "true" allergy and intolerance. For determining intolerance, elimination is the best way.
  4. I firmly believe I had more than one trigger--the first actually setting the disease in motion and the subsequent ones making my symptoms progressively worse. I was diagnosed at age 49--in my late 20's I had my second child via c-section. Before this, I had had stomach problems and fainting as a child, but felt great during my teen years up until then...
  5. OMG--hilarious!!
  6. Hey all Had to poop by and say hi to me peeps! Craziness is reigning here....more on that soon....plus, I have developed a neck/shoulder problem of my own doing. Word of advice....do not evea try to close the back end door of an SUV wif one arm! Just sayin....I've been in pain fer nigh on 3 weeks now, having said pain spread up into me neck and...
  7. I agree--I now make my own sauce using Cento crushed tomatoes. Their tomato products are processed in a completely gluten-free setting--I have spoken to the company. I had on and off problems with prepared sauces, even those from companies that "list all gluten" on the labels. Unfortunately, sometimes we have to experiment a little to figure out what...
  8. Glad you enjoyed it! I've been making this regularly for 5 years, as I'm also intolerant to tapioca. GFP has several mixes that are delicious and don't include tapioca. The pancake mix, cornbread mix, white cake mix, truffle brownie mix (to die for), and pie crust mixes are all very good. I slice the loaf after it completely cools and store in the freezer...
  9. Oh Shroomie, I'm so sorry to hear about Miss Mary. It felt through the stories you shared wif us that we knew her just a wee bit, and what a remarkable lady she was. Take care my friend (((hug))).
  10. Definitely. I have almost no tooth decay (one small filling) but have had several cracked teeth. One was a back molar that just gave way, and a couple front teeth that I have had bonded. Probably from not absorbing calcium and vitamin D properly for years....
  11. Oh yes, that can happen. I became more sensitive to smaller amounts of gluten as time went on--I'm just short of 5 years gluten-free. I also discovered that I was sensitive to other foods a few months after going on the diet. I'm still intolerant to legumes, tapioca, coconut, and soy--but have recently been able to successfully add dairy and corn back...
  12. The Gluten Free Pantry makes a delicious pie crust mix. If you can do dairy, use all butter A box makes 3 good sized 9 inch crusts, the dough freezes very well. My one tip with it would be to be sure to roll it out between 2 sheets of plastic wrap and when placing the rolled out dough, use the plastic and then gently peel off.
  13. Hey Sills--just poopin in to say hi
  14. This is true for me too. I was diagnosed almost 5 years ago and choose to not eat Lay's regular products (I do eat Stax). I loved the naturals line, but I'd be fine with one bag, and not with another. I decided it wasn't worth getting sick over. I absolutely need to steer clear of products made on shared lines--I can say that without exception I always...

  16. Kahren!!!!! I was wondering WIH you've been off to! Tahoe sounds great
  17. (((hug))) Jason, please look into therapy. You don't think it will help in your current frame of mind, but it will. I understand how you feel--believe me. I think you're stuck--and there's no shame in that. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith--we'll all still be here for you, I promise
  18. <snort> Good to know Just pooping by, sills. Hope ya'll are having a good weekend so far--Matt goes home tomorrow morning Seems like he just got here..... Spring sprang here in Spring ( ) with a cold rain. Leisugh--the next time will surely be under happier circumstances

  20. I've been gluten-free for going on 5 years now and I still get a rumbling stomach when I've eaten something that doesn't agree with me. It can go on for quite a while.
