  1. Em, it depends on the insurance plan as to whether or not we need referrals. We've had both types and thankfully with the plan we have now, I don't need them. Souczie, I hope you can get into that doc you mentioned. I want you to pheel better
  2. Suz--no, it most coitainly was not you I was referring to. The member is not a silly and hasn't posted on the board in a long time. I just always remembered what she said because I'm so sensitive to cross contamination. Good work on the temperature/thyroid connection. I've always maintained this since my temp always runs low--and had for years...
  3. This is an interesting thread. I try to be aware of inflammatory foods. I used to eat all the gluten-free substitutes--breads and other things made with gluten-free flours and starches, popcorn, potatoes, rice, etc. I was better than I was before going gluten-free, but I would still have bouts of GI trouble, I was retaining fluids and my blood pressure...
  4. I've always used cornstarch for fruit pie fillings. For the crust, my favorite is Gluten Free Pantry Pie Crust Mix.
  5. I know.....can nae stand the cuteness! Kit's wee widdle hand Suz--I also pseriously suspect something's askew wif me thyroid, but it's next to impossible to get the doctors to do the proper tests They do the basic and than state that we're normal. Bah...... Hope yer plan is successphul Let us know (we need to know everything ) ...
  6. I hear ya--sometimes I wonder too......but going back on the stuff would be even worse in the long run Last night I woke up at 2 and was awake all night......stomach lousiness today.....nothing different to eat what so freakin ever I dunno (doncha just hate it when I come along and whine whilst trying to make you pheel better? ) Gawd.... ...
  7. I missed this till now (saw Soozle's post). How's he doin, Jess?
  8. My son and I always quote those! Phunny stuph! Recently on the phone, he was telling me about something that was going on at his work and he said--"the thing that broke the straw". That's me kid

  11. <---------OMG--I did it The site of the phuture Psyllie Summit!! The sod is going in today--I thought they did a really good job wif all the trees and shrubs. There's another big magnolia on the left side that isn't in the pic and an oak on the right that I had to cut out to get the pic to upload. I wanna keep the pretty blue outdoor potty--maybe...
  12. T--your tea sounds so good!! I'm on a vanilla caramel tea kick--every afternoon. Have to stop drinking it by 4 or so or I can't sleep It's a gloomy overcast day here, but not too hot. After such a hot and sunny summer, this is nice. The builder put up a pic of the house this morning on the site--port-a-potty, trees and all I'll see if...

  14. If you are only going to get one, I would have to say the Kitchen Aid. It mixes bread dough just fine and you can use it for so many other things. I love mine
  15. I'm very sensitive to coconut, although my symptoms are GI in nature.
  16. I'm fortunate in that I don't have an allergy to soy--the Smooth as Silk Shampoo and Conditioner are what I use. I'm just happy to have found it. I think it was harder to find decent personal care products that work for me than foods! I use those and Dr. Bronner's Baby Mild soap in the shower. The best part is I can get them all at my grocery store...
  17. I phorgot about the ink--nasty Leighsua--you and Brian look so cute in your av, I keep meaning to tell you
  18. I'll chime in about my DQ2 also--nope, not gonna get me! Seriously, Jason--don't worry about your DQ8, just be as gluten-free as you can and try to relax and enjoy. I have many intolerances too and sometimes it gets old but I focus on what I can have. Once you "own" this thing and are comfortable with what you need to do, it gets so much easier...
  19. Thanks for posting that--I have Dr. Hyman's book "Ultra Metabolism" which I also thought was interesting and made a lot of sense.
  20. Anxiety was a tough one for me. I was anxious to the point of panic attacks before going gluten-free. I saw gradual improvement on the diet, but I would say it was 18 months before I "turned a corner" with the anxiety. After 4 years, it still comes back when I accidently get glutened. I always feel like it's there, lurking, ready to come out. I think...
  21. Melon stealers....the lowest of the low
  22. I get those types of reactions with lots of shampoos and soaps. Somehow I lucked out with the Giovanni. I actually am much more sensitive to things where the primary ingredient is coconut.
  23. HAPPY HAPPY BIRFDAY, TEE-REEE-SAGH!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I have dietary issues with soy, but I use the Giovanni shampoos and conditioners with no problems. Sounds odd but I have such a problem finding hair care that I can tolerate that I tried these on a lark. To my surprise, no reactions and I like how moisturizing it is.
  25. Interesting--both my fifth fingers are short--the left one being even shorter than the right.
