  1. Thank you Chelsea and Cissie--today is not the day for this discussion
  2. I get brain fog with all grains. If I get glutened through CC, the brain fog seems to hang on forever!
  3. Hi Lisa I sure hope that your tests will finally give you some concrete answers--I know it's been a "long haul" for you! Sorry about your friends--although it's not quite the same, you know you always have us here to talk to. You can PM me anytime!
  4. Even after I was diagnosed, my mom was only given one test--not the whole Celiac Panel.. This was after I sent her the list of the tests included in the panel to show to her doctor. I have no idea why her doctor didn't have the complete panel run, but my mom has complete faith in her doctors, and when this *one* test came up negative--despite years of...
  5. What a thoughtful tribute and a lovely thought, Ravenwood. Thank you
  6. I'm so sorry, Jess.
  7. After seeing how he makes it, I probably would have tried it--once upon a time. Sounds like something that would taste good for the first couple of bites, then get sickish. One of my favorite appitizers used to be Olive Garden deep fried zucchini slices--they dust them with grated cheese--so good!
  8. Nini and Vincent--I'm sending an email, too. I'm not a cereal eater, but this is ridiculas! Seems they're going backward here...
  9. I'm pretty sure that Penguin makes it, too. Maybe she has a recipe.
  10. Robbin--I've not seen the stuff personally, I'm told that it is bite-sized "nuggets" of deep fried mac and cheese. All I can think is they must scoop it into the hot fat and fry it up like that Leah--Deep fried Coke--really?
  11. Thanks for saying that, Robbin--and I just want to say that your post absolutely made my day. I'm so glad that something I passed along has made such a difference for your son.
  12. This is very true for me, too! I went for years thinking it was just the way I worked--I thought I was "just nervous" or some such thing. I thought that the stress was making me get "sick" so often. It didn't help that the people around me thought the same thing and labeled me "the sensitive one" It was after I began to rid my diet of the gluten...
  13. Oh Jess--That's terrible about your puppy I'm sorry that you are having to deal with everything all at once. Try and breathe, and not think about tomorrow--just concentrate on getting through today. Sending a hug to you
  14. Hi Paula--welcome to the board The condition you are being tested for is called Celiac Disease. It's a genetic, autoimmune disorder in which the consumption of gluten causes damage to the lining of the small intestine so it can't properly absorb vitamins and minerals from the foods you eat. Your dietician was correct--you should stay on gluten...
  15. You would have to check the brand that you were planning to eat--there's no way to say if all of a certain type of prepared food is gluten-free. That would be too easy
  16. You eat very similar to the way I do! I don't tolerate grains well, so I avoid them. In fact, since I identified and removed grains, legumes, dairy and coconut from my diet, I've been feeling better than I have in a very long time. I second everything Ursula and Leah said
  17. What a nice thing to hear! You and Kristi must be so proud And I think that teacher has very good taste
  18. Here's a link to their website-- Open Original Shared Link
  19. I am happy to report that after eating them yesterday, last night, and today I feel fine! I believe we've actually found the elusive, gluten-free potato chip
  20. I agree with Vincent--you already have a diagnosis through the positive blood work. Putting him through the biopsy won't change that one way or the other
  21. They both sound good to me right now--guess it's been too long without real junk food! God help me, sometimes I just plain miss the stuff
  22. Terps--Yes, please, if you try it, let us know! I would be interested in it as a way to be able to eat out once in a while without the fear of CC.
  23. Yea--my husband just told me about it the other day--I didn't know it existed! It actually sounded kinda good in a "but it would probably kill me" sort of way
  24. It's interesting, our individual preferences! I only see female gyn's. I just feel more comfortable with someone who has the same "equipment"! From my experience (I had male Drs years ago), they are much more gentle.
  25. Stomach issues, easy fatigue, and lightheadedness as a child. Fine from teens until I had a C-section with 2nd child, Sept.84. From then on, sick with no answers. March 04--Had surgery that kicked this into high gear--symptoms much worse than they'd ever been. Still not properly diagnosed until June 05.
