  1. Hi Susie --I don't know if I would call what I have frustose malabsorbson, but about the only fruit I can eat with out symptoms is banana. Also fresh pineapple. I eat 1 or 2 a day of the banana and the pineapple not as often. I gave up orange juice and then apple juice because I never felt well after drinking them. If I try and have a piece of fresh fruit...
  2. Wow--so many new posts--I don't know where to start! Susan and Celia, I can't eat Hershey's chocolate, either! I only eat dark, but even the Special Bar and their regular dark chocolate makes me sick. I eat Dove dark all the time--no problem at all. I loved those Special bars Dove makes a delicious milk chocolate, too Hope you feel better today...
  3. Tanya--This goes for me, too. Anything I can do--really.
  4. Jello is a Kraft company, so any gluten would be clearly listed. You had so much going on--the laxatives, I'm sure had a lot to do with it. Also, the artificial sweetener in the Jello could have not agreed with you. Are you feeling better now?
  5. Monica--I know what you mean--why don't they just stop using wheat across the board on the meds--most of them don't use it anyway. I did get an upset stomach when I took it, and some D also--those were side effects for me. My doctor suggested I take the first dose (which was 2 pills) separately with a lot of food, and the rest of them also with a meal-...
  6. Hi Lynn--I have a number of food intolerances (see my sig). I found that tapioca caused me to have a very dry mouth (while still chewing it) and GI cramping and D. The best way to determine if you are intolerant is to discontinue the food completely for 2 weeks. Take note of how you feel. Reintroduce the food after the 2 weeks is over and see how you...
  7. I think he just wants to go over everything with you. That way, you'll know how to go about training safely for your condition.
  8. Educator--Dove products will list any gluten ingredients clearly on the label. I use either Shikai or Giovanni--those I find at Whole Foods or that type store. They don't contain SLS--could be a good thing for you to avoid until your ear improves.
  9. Picard! I guess that puts it in perspective
  10. Thanks! I like it a little longer, but it'll get there eventually. Isn't it funny when you blow it dry straight, it suddenly looks like it grew 3 inches!!
  11. The last I checked, the Rapid Release was not gluten-free. Possibly it was too new then--that could have changed, but you'd have to check with them to make sure. Bufferin is gluten-free *except* for the 325mg. tablets. If you can tolerate aspirin, the Bufferin Extra Strength is great for a nasty headache.
  12. I keep reading that those of us with naturally curly hair shouldn't wash our hair every day, but I do anyway Habit, I guess. I have tried washing every other day, and just rinsing/conditioner on the other days. My hair was longer, about collar length, when it began falling out a year and a half ago. When it started growing back in, post gluten-free...
  13. You guys are bad!!
  14. OK. I'm back again. This was making me uneasy, so I just called Pfizer and spoke to a nurse, Deborah. She told me that Norvasc was gluten-free. Sorry I don't know about your other med, but the Norvasc is fine.
  15. Mamaw--I have been on Norvasc for years--when I had to go gluten-free, I called the company that manufactures it and spoke to a pharmasist there. He told me that the starch they used was from potato. Did you get different info from them? I have not had a problem with it. I just checked glutenfreedrugs.com, and Norvasc is listed. Quinapril was not...
  16. When I lived in Georgia, my friend's kids would call me Miss Patti
  17. Yep Julie, the first "Ma'am is always the hardest I kind of looked around, like--they couldn't possibly mean me!
  18. Thanks for the tip! Yes, I can get John Freida products here--they are widely available. I actually used to use their Wind Down Creme to blow dry, but someone on here said that it might not be gluten-free. I should check that out myself, because I loved that stuff. I've not used the serum--would I just run it thru my hair once I've let it dry naturally...
  19. I'm dairy free, also. I use Standard Process Calcium Lactate. It's the only calcium that has not bothered my stomach. It came recommended to me by my Kineisologist-- Open Original Shared Link Darn, the exact page won't come up--just hit alphabetical list, and then Calcium Lactate. I get this at my local health food store. A lot of stores don't...
  20. Lynne! Our new PT! That works out well too because I'm already getting old, and the ole neck isn't what it used to be I see you are also a fan of Rudolph Remember how Rudolph said "San-ta" when his dad made him wear the fake nose?
  21. Hey Nikki! So glad you've joined us Having you be our stylist is perfect--since you have personal experience with frizzy hair! I'm open to any professional tips you might have......
  22. That's what friends are for, Susan! I knew Lynne would want to know cuz you two are buds I'm sure this is another difficult day for the family--I'm thinking about you all
  23. Sounds to me like you just plain overdid it yesterday! If you're not used to that kind of physical cativity, doing hours of skateboarding and then swimming all in one day is going to make you pretty sore. It's always worse after about 24 hours. If you can take a couple Tylenol or other mild pain medication (I use Extra Strength Bufferin for muscle pain...
  24. I'm doing the same thing, Jen! This looks delicious
  25. Ms Penguin, Just kind of goes with the territory! I managed to gluten myself (CC) right before we went away --a week and a half ago--and I'm still doing stupid things! Yesterday, I took a load of clothes out of the dryer, folded them and turned the drier back on--completely empty. A while later, I thought--what's that noise? It was the dryer running
