  1. Depression and anxiety are two of the symptoms of Celiac. Not everyone gets them, but for those of us that do, crying is sometimes a part of it.
  2. I've been kind of worried that something like this might happen. I mentioned it a while back in the Oprah thread. The network might not want to rile up the wheat growers (sponsers=money), and if they got a complaint from them, it could account for them pulling the video.
  3. Me too--I have all of the symptoms except the cluster headaches (Thank goodness!). I had anemia for years until just recently. The rest of them are to a T. I do take vit. B6--100mg/day. This is interesting....
  4. Dani--thanks for calling this to our attention. I plan to call on Mon.--couldn't find an e-mail adress either. I, too, didn't feel right after eating their chocolate sometimes--but wasn't sure that's what it was. The Special Dark Syrup comes to mind--I stopped eating that altogether after getting sick more than once after eating it. And I knew it was...
  5. I have been gluten-free for 8 months now--I felt better after 4 months, but I still get tired easily. I have a lot of reflux and upper GI gas that has actually gotten worse over the last 2 months. I am reacting to all grains now, as well. I don't know if all of this is my body's way of straighening itself around after years of gluten exposure or what....
  6. Hez--YIPEE!--I'm so happy to hear that you're going to Disney and that they're going to take such good care of you! I've only heard good things about Disney--both of them.
  7. JPG is fine--that's what mine was. Try bringing the picture in from the sides--as much as you can and still see the subject--that's what finally did it for me.
  8. Why wait until tomorrow--you've been sick for quite a while now, according to what I can see. Can't you go now?
  9. I care--can you call your doctor and tell them you need to see them right away--an emergency appt? Or maybe it's time to go to the emergency room--is there someone who you can call to take you there? I know you were recently sick with a kidney/bladder infection--I think you need to see someone right away.
  10. You can't use the personal photo setting--I understand it's been disabled. For your avatar, did you try cropping the picture? I had to bring the edges in on mine and play with it several times before it finally took.
  11. I have been using potato starch to thicken stews and gravys. It works well, just don't use too much--maybe 1/2 of what you would normally do with cornstarch or flour. I have to avoid corn and I'm finding that rice is bothering me, also.
  12. I definately had a period of time where I felt like a wet dishrag--fatigue, and a general feeling of being unwell. I think it was part of the healing process. I just posted this in another thread, but I began to feel better by the 4th. month. I would give it a bit more time
  13. I know that the first month or two gluten-free, I was tired all the time, too. I felt like I just couldn't get enough sleep. I think it was my body finally getting some relief, and beginning to heal. I began to feel much better by the fourth month. I also took a multi. vitamin, vitamin B6, and calcium lactate.
  14. B--So glad to hear you finally got a concrete answer. Have a fun, safe trip--talk to you when you get back
  15. I had to wait a week and a half for the results of my biopsy, but the Dr. told me to begin the gluten free/dairy free diet the day of the biopsy. Yogurt--check the labels--especially the lite or fat free ones.
  16. That was interesting--thanks!
  17. Keep in mind, I also can't do dairy-- Salad with Good Seasons Dressing and big, garlicky homemade croutons Home made lazagne w/ meatballs--the real thing, topped with lots of Locatelli Romano cheese Columbus Bakery Bread (a bakery in my hometown) with butter Sara Lee French Cheesecake w/ hot fudge sauce Gonna go have a good cry now......
  18. Karen--What a great idea--it's so frusterating to know there's a problem, have a good idea what could be done to help, but not know how to actually make it happen. You have come up with something that is worth a try. It's got to start somewhere--why not with us! Welcome back--you were missed . Now...any stories about the "one that got away"?
  19. I think some people actually DO freak out there--there was an article in our paper last fall that told about a man who hadn't had pizza and beer in like 20 years. The article said that he broke down and cried when it was served to him. The owner said that things like that happen there every so often. Hope you have a great time! The next time my husband...
  20. Maureen--Yes--let me know if you get to Mr. Ritts--if I get there first, I'll let you know how it was. The cooking class sounds like fun. The closest Celiac group to me is in Voorhees--that's a 45 minute drive--not counting the Rte.73 traffic!
  21. Thanks Carrie--I was one of the ones who said we missed pita bread. I'm going to print this and try it!
  22. I was never much of a drinker--but I do enjoy a glass (or 2) of wine now and then. I haven't had any since I went gluten-free. Probably when I get to the year mark, I'll try some and see how I feel.
  23. My knee cracks every single time I squat down.. It has for as long as I can remember. (I always make the 'I must be getting old' joke! Also, my big toe cracks every time I flex it.
  24. I like to chop up Oscar Mayer hot dogs and put them into Bush's Baked Beans and just heat em up. You could also put in the ketchup, onion and brown sugar. gluten-free ketchup, of course!
  25. Glad to hear you're feeling better today, Dani--I was worried about ya
