    Hi and welcome From the sound of your symptoms, the positive blood result and your mom's DX, there's a strong possibility as you already know. Keep in mind that the biopsy can miss damage--maybe too soon to show damage or the Dr. can miss the damaged areas. That does not mean that you do not have Celiac--no matter what the results of the biopsy are....

    I am very sensitive to corn, also. I probably have been all along, but it became more pronounced after I went gluten-free. Corn does not cause the same damage to the villi that gluten does in a Celiac. The symptoms may be similar, but no damage.

    I find I have very similar symptoms when I eat too much sugar in the form of cake, cookies, etc. gluten-free bread, dark chocolate (in other forms) don't seem to be a problem for me. I think that the relatively large amounts of sugar in those kinds of things, along with the flours kind of put me over the edge in terms of the itching. Hope this helps and...
