  1. That sounds yummy--I'm gonna try it. I'll bet that would be good with country style (boneless) ribs, too.
  2. Richard, There is a good reason why I think of you as "a voice of reason". What you say is true and I knew that from the get go. I was just putting out there my experience, my opinion, and hoped to get other's input. Anything beyond that , chalk it up to my current gluten-induced overly sensitive mood --Patti
  3. Thanks--I guess I'll try it and heed your suggestion
  4. Hi Bridget--Sorry to hear that you're having problems. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here, always willing to help. The blood panel the the Dr. uses to check for iron, etc. will not show Celiac Disease. You have to ask for a specific Celiac Panel. Folate, I believe, is not the same thing as vitamin B12. I also had edema (swelling) pre DX. Mine...
  5. I bought some Boles Corn Pasta, but since I bought it, I read that some here didn't like the texture. So every time I make pasta, I go for the Tinkyada--I'm kind of afraid to make it and be stuck with a lousy dinner!! One of these days, though, I'm gonna try it
  6. Pre- DX, I was the opposite--I loved good breads and baked goods. I felt good while eating them and bad after (although at the time, I didn't know why).
  7. The Finesse sounds ok, but you could always call and check. The Paul Mitchell had wheat listed so thats why I got rid of it.
  8. Cindy, Thanks for the tip about the liner--I have never seen them, I love to use my crock pot, and liners will make me use it more. (Hate to scrub the sides!). I don't have any formal recipes, I tend to make pot roast, stew, chicken, but its more of a "throw in what I have on hand at the moment" kind of thing. I would like to branch out a little, so I...
  9. Hope you feel all better soon! I used to use Paul Mitchell Hairspray and had to toss it.
  10. Bridget, I do read and appreciate your product updates. I have responded as such before. In my Dove post, I said "I understand there may ba a cross contamination issue with Dove". The reason I suspected the soap in the first place was DIRECTLY because of your product info. That was the first time I had heard that Dove may not be safe. I had heard over...
  11. I really like Cream of Rice and have it frequently. I like it with pure maple syrup, raisins and walnuts. I, personally, won't be eating oats--any type.
  12. Hi all--Well the title is what I'm wondering about. I have been glutened, the first time in quite a while. I have had nothing out of the ordinary to eat yesterday or today. Have not eaten out or anything new. At all. The only thing different is that I ran out of my Gluten Free Savonnerie soap 3 days ago and while waiting for the order, have been using...
  13. Thanks for the link, Claire, it was very interesting.
  14. I try to drink more water and have hot tea. I pretty much eat normally, if my stomach gets empty, I get nauseous, even when glutened. I feel better if I can lay down on my back--that kind of relaxes my insides. Beyond that, I jut have to wait it out
  15. I use McCormick, also, and have verified by phone that it is gluten free.
  16. We love Tinkyada, too. I make it once a week, or so. I never used to rinse wheat pastas, but I found it's necessary with the Tinkyada. My favorite is the spaghetti--even reheated, its fantastic.
  17. I thought the same thing. Its almost as if that Dr. is trying not to find Celiac!
  18. We're going back a long way here, but my mom had 3 children--I'm the only one she nursed and I'm the only one with Celiac. (my sisters have never been tested)
  19. I've never heard that, either. Hopefully someone has and will weigh in
  20. Also, what the rep. said about the maltitol is true for me. If I eat anything with that, I get D and gas a few hours later. But if you ask me, what got you was probably cross contamination because of the mouth sores. That makes it look like a glutening.
  21. dani--so nice to hear you're feeling better and sounding happier! Good news about the Dr., too
  22. Hi--A quick, stupid question: What does CYA mean?
  23. I meant that the colonoscopy could DX the Crohn's. I had both, actually, the colo. to rule out other things like Crohn's and the endo. to test for the Celiac. I was clearer about that on my earlier post on the same subject.
  24. Yea--Sometimes tomato sauce gives me indigestion but fresh tomato never does. Probably because the tomatoes are more concentrated, then the added spices on top of that.
