  1. I'm afraid the only 'boarding' I do is of the two thin ones on my feet in the snow variety.
  2. there's a lot of carbs in what you're eating - you're sure that everything is completely gluten free? you may also want to make sure you're getting enough protein and fat, as what you list is mostly all carbohydrates. I don't know how long you've been diagnosed, but it may take a few months for the intestines to heal enough to see significant recovery ...
  3. 30% fat *could* be just fine - I also was wondering if there was enough fat in what you listed. (the descriptions you give don't actually tell us macronutrient content.) and the fat *looks* fairly evenly distributed in the day, but again, it's hard to tell. the timing is important for keeping you satisfied too. also, how much protein is in that? is it...
  4. I agree that not having gluten free on naturally gluten free things could be ambiguous. I would have thought that chili would be naturally gluten free, but we all know that there are instances of chili out there with wheat in them. Same with pasta sauces - something I'd *never ever ever* think would contain gluten, but we know can. This still is no ...
  5. As a first degree relative, you're chances are about 1 in 20 that you'll develop it. As it can be triggered environmentally, if you have the genes for it, a negative test one year does not absolutely mean that you'll never develop it. So if you're experiencing symptoms, I'd suggest: 1) getting a complete blood panel done, 2) following up with a biopsy if...
  6. Endangered Species, Dagoba, and Green and Blacks are good as well. Hershey's has a "list it on the label" policy, I thought?
  7. I agree. It's time to try him on the diet, and see how he improves, particularly due to your new findings.
  8. You talk to the hospital. They won't always get it right, but sometimes they will. But as you get better, you shouldn't need to be spending much time there.
  9. I've had issues with it too, but very inconsistently. I do hope the rectify the problem. I know they're trying, but ... yeah... other companies have solved the problem, so I wonder what the issue is at this point.
  10. I like Imagine, though they may now be on shared lines?
  11. Ha! that would be amusing to celiacs. too bad everyone else would find it horridly boring. :?
  12. extra 's, extra 'e... they just creep in...
  13. alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. it doesn't surprise me that it caused that sort of reaction; some people are simply not 'happy drunks'.
  14. Yep. and that's why it's one of the targets for medicinal therapy.
  15. Welcome to the board. I'm sorry to hear you're not getting better. Make sure that you've eliminated all sources of wheat, barley, rye, and oats - including hidden sources or non-obvious sources (so you have to read *all* labels). Also make sure that you're not getting contaminated in your own kitchen by shared toasters, counters, preparation utensils...
  16. check the ingredients - but those I believe are.
  17. I used to live in HB and have eaten at the PF Changs in Long Beach and Irvine (not to mention a bunch of other places around the country), and never had a problem.
  18. Oh man, you do *not* want to know what I paid for shipping for 30 pounds of Namaste pancake mix. Ouch!
  19. You can also find a squeeze bottle that use can use for a sinus rinse that might be easier to overcome the mental challenge of using. (Both are easier than the "snort" method - my first introduction to the practice. Man, *that* was tough!) It is very helpful, I must say. (BTW, you're supposed to stay 'upright' - at least not lay down and go to bed - for...
  20. hadn't planned on doing one, but what I would serve/have served in the past: grilled baby back pork ribs chips w/ salsa and guacamole veggies w/ black bean dip and hummus bean salad
  21. Please post, vent, ask questions, and offer your own opinions as often as you need to. That's what we're here for!
  22. Well, the 20ppm is the better of the two likeliest alternatives. The thing is, legally, it was going to happen that 'processed out' was going to be left in. Because if you say that it has to test below an amount, then it doesn't matter if it's avoidance of contamination or processing or voodoo magic that gets it below that amount - it's below the 'limit...
  23. 1. give the doc peer-reviewed, published studies citing the link between enamel hyperplasia and celiac 2. talk to him about your concerns that this could have been an issue if your celiac problems were present at birth but went without diagnosis for decades 3. determine whether it's worth fighting with him or not - as was noted, it might not make a substantial...
  24. I agree with ursa - iron levels aren't something to guess at. You want blood work to check on them - other things can affect your nails besides iron and calcium - and too much iron is bad for you in a number of ways (including your heart).
