  4. untreated celiac increases the risk of miscarriage. but if you're staying gluten free, you'll be fine. make sure to start taking a good prenatal, and if possible, get your vitamin/mineral levels checked just to be sure.
  5. you'll definitely want to confirm iron dosage with your doctor, and not base it on anyone else's dosing. iron overload can be quite dangerous (damages organs in the long term), and you should be monitored to make sure your iron is going up.
  6. If they do a full panel, being IgA deficient shouldn't stop a diagnosis. But they have to run the IgG antibodies as well. If they didn't... well, they didn't test you very well at all. You might try asking for the IgG antibody tests.

  8. I would suggest going to an orthopaedist. There are a number of things it could be (as always), and you need someone who knows the options. You might find that a chiropractor can help as well, or a PT (if you're in a state that doesn't require a referral to go to a PT).
  9. glutamine is safe, from a gluten-free-diet perspective. that doesn't mean that supplementation is a good idea for you (your body produces it naturally). if it is causing an unwanted side effect (and I recall insomnia being one of the possible ones), I'd stay off it.

Some people have a wider range of 'acceptable tastes/textures' than others, and she didn't even have the benefit of trying to get used to the taste.   18. Yup - I tried dietary tests for all common food triggers (and food allergens) before I went on the daily meds. None of them triggered a migraine for me. Addressing the neck issue has definitely helped (I'm off my meds, for the past 6 weeks), though I can't do anything about the weather affect.   19. You should let your doctor know about the reaction. I'm guessing that it was likely reacting to the med itself, not gluten in it. While many people will do fine on many medications, it is completely possible to have a bad reaction to one.
  20. it used to be thought you could outgrow celiac. we know now that it isn't true, though many adolescents go through a "honeymoon" period where damage may occur but no symptoms that are easily recognizable.

  22. I developed chronic migraines years after going gluten (and dairy) free. I took topamax (daily preventative) for a long time. Supplements helped, but didn't fix the problem, which I think is related to stress and poor neck alignment.
  23. If you are 100% gluten free, then yes, DH goes away. But eventually. For a while, you may also need to eliminate sources of iodine from the diet. But it can take months for everything to clear up. (The DH is caused by IgG deposits under the skin, which require iodine to form. It takes a while for those deposits to be cleaned out.)
