I recently came across this research that shows Refeeding Syndrome being treated with Thiamine......responds to Thiamine replacement therapy even when Refeeding Syndrome aka RFS does not respond to Potassium supplementation...

  5. Edgetunes, Try reading this thread.....it can explain how Corn (and Sorghum based flours) can sometimes cause similar symptom's in some Celiac's.... In short, Corn and Sorghum have high leucine amounts interfering with the bodies natural production of Niacin.....which can lead to Pellagra like symptom's in some Celiac's....   8. Guest Nicole, I believe Pellagra and Celiac happen together today and they are being confused one for the other. While Celiac disease, per se might, not be able to be reversed (at least as it is thought classically)......the low stomach acid, leaky gut and Pellagra and Beri Beri can be reversed with supplementation.   9. Gillian, The Key is finding a high quality Magnesium Supplement.... Glycinates with meals should work....and can be taken at bedtime as well. I swear by Magnesium Citrate for muscle cramps.....but it should always be taken with meals.... Here is a nice overview article about the pros and cons of taking Magnesium Citrate or Magnesium glycinate...
  10. Wheatwacked, For your gout keep taking the Magnesium Citrate with Meals and try some Zinc Lozenges.... Some people only take Magnesium once a day....and that is not enough... Being very specific of what you are taking when....but I used to have paresthesia (Pins and Needles) that taking Thiamine as Benfotiamine (the fat soluble form) found in most diabetic sections helped get rid of... I was low in Thiamine....but the doctor's at the time...
