Knitty Kitty, I came across some Thiamine research I thought you would enjoy. Entitled "Mechanisms of thiamine deficiency in chronic alcoholism" It explains how Thiamine is absorbed in BiPhasic way....either as active or passive transport.... It explains well why you have to "Saturate" the channel before your body can absorb Thiamine again...

Scott and Knitty Kitty, Here is the research that summarizes how Enzymatic pathways break down when Vitamins are low....leading in time to a genetic diagnosis. As Knitty Kitty says you have to "Saturate" the (Vitamin) channel....thus reversing the deficiency and restoring the Enzymatic pathway. This research is a little old....so if @knitty...

Posterboy replied to KJ2244's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
KJ, This would be better as two reply's....but the last time I replied twice quickly the forum merged my two replies into one.... First I wanted to say Scott has given you good advice.....shortly after I got my "Official" Celiac diagnosis....I was denied my disability insurance "increase" that tracks with your income.... Given no reason "in... -
ChessFox, Depression can be triggered by Inflammation so it makes sense that removing gluten would help your Neuro symptoms. CeliaCupCake, Taking PPIs will make you low in Magnesium... This will lock up the Thiamine you have been taking....making it unavailable to the body. See this research about it Entitled "Aggravation of thiamine deficiency by magnesium depletion. A case report" https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4050546/ So the PPIs can cause you...

Wheatwacked, You should add Benfotiamine or other Fat Soluble B-1 to your regimen. The B-1 in B-Complex has a very low availability and it is not helping your the way you think it might be... This article explains it well.... Entitled "Thiamine Deficiency and Diabetic Polyneuropathy Compelling evidence for an interrelationship" https...

Scott, You know my vote! Poor Nutrition is the key to many diseases but we don't see it with our "eyes" if comes from HIGH Calorie Malnutrition. This is about the Magnesium connections to disease and it's regulation of IL-2 important in a Celiac disease diagnosis. It is known as an X-MEN genetic disease but this condition is reversed when we...

Possible Refractory Celiac Disease
Posterboy replied to Anonym's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Anonym, Corn has been shown to have a similar reaction in some Celiac's. Here is some fairly recent research about it Entitled "Maize prolamins (aka Corn) resistant to peptic-tryptic digestion maintain immune-recognition by IgA from some celiac disease patients https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22298027/ Where they note quoting ... -

American Mama, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery unless it is medical imitation (mimicry) then it is the unkindest cut??? because being misdiagnosed by a disease that mimics another delays your healing. This happens a lot...sadly. IF you have being diagnosed with Sjorgen's already they might of misdiagnosed Pellagra mimicking LUPUS...

HopeMoore, EnnisTx says it well for the Natural Calm "Dose to Tolerance". Which is for most people not more than 1/2 Tsp to begin with..... Cristiana is right even a small amount of Magnesium Citrate will make a huge difference! Then when you see how well you tolerate the Natural Calm powder in a couple weeks increase the dose to a full...

HopeMore and Fran Et Al, Magnesium is a Co-Factor for Thiamine leading to Chronic Fatigue. Taking them both together resolves most fatigue issues! I had this problem once.....you can get better. Emiandgabesmom, Here is the one I wanted to quote but couldn't find at the time....I lost a few of my old files and missed placed it. I call it the Hawaii Study. HopeMoore, Taking some Magnesium Glycinate and or Magnesium Citrate with Benfotiamine (a fat soluble B1) with meals will help your fatigue. Here are two great studies about it....One on Magnesium and one on Thiamine. Entitled "Red blood cell magnesium and chronic fatigue syndrome" https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PII...

EmiandGabesMom, Thiamine is best taken with Magnesium. Benfotiamine (easiest fat soluble B1 form to find) and Magnesium Glycinate with meals will help your Fatigue! It will probably help your low Platelet levels too! See this research in adults about it. https://casereports.bmj.com/content/2018/bcr-2018-225035 I have used up...

More about Covid and its Variants
Posterboy replied to Yvonne (Vonnie) Mostat, RN's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Vonnie, If you are skeptical of Vaccines.....you might research the Monoclonal Antibody treatment by Regeneron. Here is a nice article overview on Monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID-19…..might work as good as vaccines (even against variants)….. With little side effects…IF you get infected this would/might be a good treatment protocol…..acc... -
are you going to take the vaccine
Posterboy replied to DJFL77I's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
RMJ et Al, Somebody else mentioned low platelets in another thread so I was doing some research on it....in case the question ever came up again. So I found some timely research that you (RMJ) and Knitty Kitty might find interesting. Scott et al, Here is a nice overview article on how a Thiamine deficiency can present as Nausea and Vomiting... https://healthprep.com/articles/fitness-nutrition/guide-symptoms-thiamine-deficiency/#:~:text=Weight loss may occur in a thiamine deficiency, individuals called AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) becomes impaired quoting from their...

Fran4, I just wanted to say Magnesium Glycinate will not cause a/the Laxative affect that some Magnesium Citrates do in HIGH doses as Knitty Kitty notes. The Citrate portion of Mag Citrate turns to Citric Acid in the stomach leading to a Laxative affect in higher doses. Because Magnesium Glycinate is bound to the amino acid Glycine taking...

FroggyGirl, I didn't have your symptom's but I did do some research to see if they was a link to elevated M. Proteins and Celiac disease and it turns out there might be? This article on Celiac.com explains it well…. Usually M. Protein levels go down within 3 Years of going gluten free… As reference in the above article… A little bit o...

are you going to take the vaccine
Posterboy replied to DJFL77I's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Scott, Here is a nice overview of what side effects and when to expect with both the Moderna and Pfizer Vaccine. I think it is five slides that compare and contrast what symptom's are most common with each mRNA type vaccine IE Moderna and Pfizer's. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/moderna-caused-this-reaction-in-82-percent-of-people... -

The previous article I read on this topic.....indicated COVID-19 might start in the GUT and why many patients don't have respiratory problems until the 2nd week. Here...

A Gluten-Free Diet May Not Stop Gut Inflammation for all Celiac Disease Patients
