  1. Scott, Trents and Veronique, I don't think it is low Vitamin D that is the problem for most people.... But being below 20 OHD Vitamin D can trigger an Immune Issue.... Generally though it is thought taking high Vitamin D doses when your OHD is over 80 could have toxic effects.... The key is no Vitamin/Mineral (it has taken a long time...
  2. NeverLikedRollerCoasters, I was you once.... We get low in the wrong vitamins.....meaning.....we associate one symptom with another....and taking it never helps the situation....until we take the Co-factor (Vitamin or Mineral) controlling the reaction... I had the elevated Homocystiene levels and took massive B-12 amounts and medically subscribed...
  3. Hannah, I was going to say more.....before I ran out of time responding to other threads... So I will just say read this great thread on DH and whether DH is really Pellagra in disguise... And this research about how Niacinamide has been used in the treatment of DH. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30390734/ If itching is your biggest...
  4. Caterina, The Low Phosphate is probably from Refeeding Syndrome....going undiagnosed. I had similar problems....I have elevated CRP levels too but the doctor's didn't know why... I wrote a Posterboy blog post about Refeeding Syndrome that might help you to read it. The Low Phosphorus SHOULD of been a dead give away.....but doctor's don...
  5. Dd89, I am going into the hay field again this weekend.... In order to be brief.....and tie some loose ends (threads) I have not responded back too yet... I will just say read some of Posterboy blog posts.... If you still have questions you can always PM.... But here is a thread that summarizes my experience and will also answer...
  6. CeliMom, See this thread about things you can do for your daughters Anemia.... It is a thread specifically about Anemia... You might want to read some of my Posterboy blog post(s) as well.... I wrote about my experience....with Low Stomach acid going misdiagnosed/undiagnosed.... There are 20+ posts.....maybe at least one will be...
  7. Alice, Don't be afraid to take a B-Complex with your meals.....or at least twice a day. Both B2 (Riboflavin) and B3 (Niacin) have been shown to help Anemia. Usually this takes about two or three months to notice a sustainable difference... Here is the research on it... Entitled "The effect of riboflavin deficiency in rats on the...
  8. Dd89, Geographic tongue and mouth sores are commonly caused by Riboflavin deficiency and a Lysine deficiency. Here is a an article about it.....part of it is behind a paywall but you will get the gist of the idea.... https://glutenfreeworks.com/health/tongue-magenta-swollen/ See also this thread about mouth sores in Celiac's... If...
  9. Happy Place and Alice, I had read about Hepcidin before....but since you mentioned it again.....I wondered whether their was any good research on the topic. I have had Iron Overload aka HH for at least the last 6 months now.... I have found that too much Iron can be from Low Copper and Low Vitamin A. Here is the research on the Hepcidin...
  10. HLM, You might enjoy reading this thread about how Dairy could be involved in Refractory Celiac disease, in part, from Casein(s) in one diet. It seams to bear our many of your own experiences with Dairy and possible eggs. I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advice. Posterboy,
  11. Scott Et Al, I just wanted to update this article with a better resource. Here is the thread started on Lactose Intolerance as a possible cause for Refractory Celiac disease. Here is the original research about Cows Milk Protein (especially Casein) that can trigger Anti-tissue antibodies in gluten free Celiac's. Entitled "Anti-tissue...
  12. Scott, Thank you for that article. But I think you should update it (the article) to include both a Thiamine Deficiency and/or Beri Beri and a Casein/Lactose Intolerance. This was just a quick google search.....but the literature clearly shows that a Casein Intolerance is happening in approx. 50% of Celiac's not responding to a gluten free...
  13. Scott, I would write a Posterboy blog post about this association / connection / relationship if I had the time.....but what really needs to be done is an article written about it on Celiac.com You do good summary's.... Why this isn't on the front page of every news paper in the USA/World??? I will never know! Lactose intolerance is...
  14. Knitty Kitty, I came across research on Thiamine that I thought you would enjoy. Entitled "The Effect of Benfotiamine on High Sensitivity-CRP (hs-CRP) Level In Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus" IE the damage caused by high C reactive proteins can be controlled by Benfotiamine in Type 2 Diabetics. https://professional.diabetes.org...
  15. Eden, You might want to cut out Lactose (Casein Really) for 6 months to see if it doesn't help your loose stools. Here is a thread about it entitled "Is Lactose Intolerance, In Part, responsible for Refractory Celiac Disease" You might also take some Tryptophan, Thiamine and Niacinamide. Here is the research on how Tryptophan can help...
  16. Alittle, The High Zonulin levels might be a sign of either Low Stomach Acid or Low Niacin levels. Here is the blog that links these connections. https://alobar.livejournal.com/2930798.html#%2F2930798.html I wrote about these connections in this Posterboy blog post.... It is kind of long....so you might want to read it more than once...
  17. Diana, Try taking some Chromium Poly. It can help your elevated blood sugars. It did mine! Chromium helps Insulin work better by a factor 100x to 1 is what I read once.....I was low in Chromium.....and doctor's don't study Vitamin(s) these days....because they don't believe they can help you..... I dropped my A1C two whole points in 2 months...
  18. Dkorm, Taking Magnesium will help you go more easily. But with Magnesium form matters..... The Magnesium Oxides....are recommended for Constipation precisely because they go unabsorbed in the stomach..... This allows the Magnesium to pass into the Colon where it draws water into the Large Intestine helping produce a movement.... Taking...
  19. Sandbtmytoes and EveT et Al, EveT, Sandbtmytoes (hereafter Sand in my Toes) has given you good advice for your migraines. Magnesium has been shown to help Migraines. But it is not just Magnesium that will help you.....Taking Benfotiamine or another Fat Soluble B1 can help migraines too.... As well as taking Riboflavin and eliminating dairy...
  20. To All, I came across some research on Lactose intolerance as trigger for a Celiac diagnosis in a Gluten Free eating person recently. And it got me thinking could the approx. 40 Percent of Celiac's patient not responding to a gluten free diet really be Lactose Intolerance instead. Here is the article on Refractory Celiac disease in those Celiac...
  21. NeverLikeRollerCoasters, You are not taking your B-Vitamin Complex often enough. Once a day is not frequent enough for water soluble B-Vitamins. I wrote a Posterboy blog post explaining why FREQUENCY is much more important than the amount of the B-Vitamin. See this FAQ Posterboy Blog Post on Niacinamide. The same goes for Riboflavin...
  22. Baby Blues, I used to have your problem. Taking some Lysine will help with outbreaks. The underlying problem is a Low B-Vitamin Status. Here is some articles about it. One entitled "Recurrent aphthous ulceration: vitamin B1, B2 and B6 status and response to replacement therapy" showing a B-Complex with B1 (Thiamine) B2 (Riboflavin...
  23. CeliaCupCake, I had been in the hay field for the last few days......so I am just getting back to the forum to answer your question(s). If you mean by antacids things like Tums and Rolaids then taking them won't hurt you....if you are only taking them until you get over your acid hypersecretion rebound you are now feeling. What is happening...
  24. MeginChicago, They missed it! Hypophosphatemia is a classic sign of Refeeding Syndrome. Here is a nice overview on it... https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/322120 Also check your medicines.....it it can be triggered by bad medicine combination....
