Smell can cause anxiety in some of us, and inhaled flour can cause a reaction. My concern would be the flour on the box. Consider a pizza parlor kitchen....consider the flour everywhere and how flour can stay air borne for hours. Now that box, probably has a light coating of flour on the outside. Not much and not really enough to be overly concerned about...

Squirmingitch brought up the macaroon idea, I find Zsweet, and Swerve Sugar Free sweeteners do not throw me out of keto and I use them to make my "treats" You might sub it in these if your like that idea. I personally just use coconut and almond meal in my baked goods with high fat nuts like walnuts and pecans (Walnuts and pecans have so much oil in them...

Please help is it celiac or not ?
Ennis-TX replied to ElenaM's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You might want to see about getting the blood test done again and getting a full celiac panel. You have to be consuming gluten daily for 12 weeks before the test. At least half a slice of bread a day. And keep eating gluten til you get the endoscope. The endoscope with biopsy is the golden standard as some people do not show up on the blood test. You mentioned...- 7 replies

Coconut, almond butter, and cocoa nib fat bombs...I use plant fats to do it. You can make some great snacks out of fresh almond butter, shredded or coconut flour, and cocoa nibs. Sweeten with stevia for little dough like balls of goodness. Oh you miss potato chips, two options here I like to make my own protein chips with pea protein, or I can have 2-4 protes...

There is a HUGE difference between grass and grain fed meats. The grass fed longhorn that I use when I Cook for others is 100% different then any other grain fed beef I have gotten in the store. THe stuff is SOO lean you have to ADD oil to the hamburger sometimes because it is so lean there is no oil to fry it up in. The meat is leaner then turkey. The omegas...

Take it your referring to soy sauce being made with wheat. Yes since it is used almost everywhere eating at a chinese restaurant is almost impossible to avoid CC. the Grill and and most cooked food is off limits. In High end places the sushi is fixed separately and not with soy sauce in the prep. The sushi rice uses mirin and rice vinegar not soy sauce or...

If only they were peanut free . I been buying my seeds from Gerbs allergen friendly foods for past 5+ years. I end up buying my almonds, walnuts, and pistachios from dedicated companies....got to admit I get a better deal on almonds but I go through 25lbs every 2 months.

Gluten free business
Ennis-TX replied to Hebasamir's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I myself run a gluten small gluten free bakery and do gluten free chef work. I looked at getting certified myself as a business. You can have your company certified by GFCO if you wish. I would suggest only buying from suppliers also certified by them. I myself only buy nut based flours from certain companies the specialize in gluten free only products. My... -
EoE AND Celiac, or EoE Or Celiac?
Ennis-TX replied to grgygrrl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
IT could be many things, I find I have a gastric dumping issue with some meals, I know some food intolerance I have will trigger it. I know If I do not start my day with a big glass of hot liquid and magnesium and have it before a meal, that meal will sit it my stomach till it makes me sick and vomit it up 4-6 hours later. I know for me meats do not digest... -
Write a message to yourself on the day you found you had celiac
Ennis-TX replied to Jmg's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
This might seem daunting but you will heal, you will be able to eat some foods again soon, but first you have to let go of some extras to speed up healing or your going to develop a few more issues your going to regret. Drop the processed crap, take your time cook whole foods from scratch. No sauces condiments, etc. Drop oats, do not deny it you know you... -
Yes do follow up with testing, once confirmed we can help you along the road. Other intolerance and allergies are very common with this disease. Lactose is broken down by enzymes produced by the tips of your villi in your intestines, they are normally the most damaged and in some cases just gone. As this is a autoimmune disease it is VERY common to develop...

Travel with toaster?
Ennis-TX replied to C-rats's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
To be nice the steamer has a cover if you get the grill plate, also get the splatter cover, protects your food from CCed microwaves and prevents messes. The linked ones actually fit together, I got mine at the local walmart. IT is wonderful as you can grill stuff on it IN THE MICROWAVE. good for meats, bacon, veggies etc. https://www.nordicware.com/catalog... -
Does apple cider vinegar help?
Ennis-TX replied to Crystal star's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Might help with ease of digestion, and there is studies that show it helps in the breaking down of carbohydrates so it helps reduce gas, bloating, and indigestion, But not really helping much your immune system attacking your intestines trying to kill the gluten, Still going to get damage and stuff in the background. I use it in making dairy free cheese... -
Travel with toaster?
Ennis-TX replied to C-rats's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If flying I do not know, I normally take a car or train. And I bring chef kit with a griddle, and nordicware cookware. My thoughts, bring meal replacement shakes, jars of nut butters, and protein/nut bars, Perhaps crackers? I know they make some gluten free ones (I can not consume most as I can not have carbs or grains). I honestly make Nut meal/butter... -
Dying in pain cause by gluten
Ennis-TX replied to Crystal star's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Unless you go 100% gluten free it will only get worse, lead to complications, and eventually kill you. I did not know about mine for years and ended up with other auto immune disease, multiple allergies, and food intolerance issues. I thought I was dying when I figured it out and went gluten free. You can not cheat on this diet as the antibodies will spike... -
Schar gluten free cookies?
Ennis-TX replied to Annieoh's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Shar is one of the leading gluten free manufactures, the company is from Europe and if I recall has even stricter gluten testing guidelines then the US. The company primarily uses corn, soy and starches in the goods so I personally can not try them or vouch for them (allergic). I know many others who do swear by them, My thoughts, I made a pudding using... -
Worcestershire sauce
Ennis-TX replied to Kristag's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Gluten Free, for fad dieters not the medically required. Look for the gluten-free certified seal. PS most walmart brand stuff is russian roulette, best not play that with your health. Try http://www.leaperrins.com/Products/The Original Worcestershire Sauce PS if you need a good teriyaki sauce, soy sauce substitute (coconut aminos), or a good garlic... -
Yeah I can not handly starchy, or sugar. I bloat and distend, gassy galore, then have my UC go to town and pass blood covered stools. So no grains, sugar, fruits for me. The sauce probably had High Fructose Corn Syrup in it, Modified Food Starch (from corn), Straight up Corn Starch or all of them. I gave up with store sauces and make my own. I use 2...

Yeah you get a pattern down, I make breads for myself and my bakery 2 times a week, I cook omelettes every morning sometimes I do a breakfast stir fry or porridge, I do nut meal porridge a lot for lunch, almost every day. dinner I always fall back on a 6 egg omelette and a HUGE 3-4 cup batch of sugar free vegan protein ice cream or shake. I find a mostly...
