  1. I'm not familiar with nerve conduction tests. Testing for Thiamine is going to reflect supplementation. I don't know what to tell you. You could try bumping up the thiamine a little, see if that helps.
  2. @Evan0529, Yes, some of us on here have reported a vibrating, buzzing sensation. I've had the feeling so bad I had shaky hands, dropping things. I get gluten ataxia really bad, too. There's some people that produce tTg 6 antibodies in addition to tTg 2 antibodies (which is tested for in common Celiac tests) in response to gluten. This tTg...
  3. @Maddie6332, Maybe a lower temperature then! Lol! Learning to cook is so much fun! Keep experimenting! We Celiacs need a nationwide chain of gluten free restaurants! I love to hear about your cooking... Keep a journal or blog of successful recipes and disasters.
  4. @Gilly M, Thought you would be interested in some articles about Thiamine (Vitamin B1) and athletic performance. I know you said you were taking a B Complex, but high dose Thiamine is needed when there's an insufficiency/deficiency. You have to remember that gluten based products have vitamins added in to replace those lost in processing...
  5. Thiamine supplementation will help this "air hunger" . It's known as "sailors' asthma" because sailors used to get thiamine deficiency at sea without fresh meat. Thiamine Hydrochloride supplements will help. So will Allithiamine, so called because it is derived from plants in the Alum family, onions and garlic. Benfotiamine will also help.
  6. @Bobs1234, Welcome to the forum! Have you considered asking your doctor for a genetic test for the most common Celiac genes? You don't have to be eating gluten for that because your genes don't change. Having the genes shows you have a propensity to develop Celiac Disease. It's not a confirmation of active Celiac Disease, but could help your...
  7. @SadFace, Welcome to the forum! I had difficulty swallowing prior to my diagnosis. I was deficient in Vitamin B1 Thiamine. Thiamine deficiency can get really nasty and doctors don't recognize thiamine deficiency symptoms outside of alcoholism, so I suggest you talk to your doctor soon about supplementing with thiamine, by IV or by over the...
  8. @Evan0529, I've been taking 250 mg benfotiamine with 50 mg thiamine hydrochloride in each capsule at three meals. I also take 100 mg Thiamax twice a day. I've been taking this combination for years. https://www.objectivenutrients.com/products/thiamax/ Elliot Overton is a follower of Dr. Lonsdale and markets Thiamax. I feel uncomfortable...
  9. Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately, doctors are not as knowledgeable about Celiac Disease as we would like. But your doctor is going to check for nutritional deficiencies, which is a point in her favor. You might request a referral to a nutritionist. Their dismissive attitude can be because they don't have a clue what it's really like to experience...
  10. @Rogol72, I read a research paper that studied the Vitamin D levels in Pacific Islanders living traditionally. Their Vitamin D levels were between 80 and 125. So, you're in the right ballpark!
  11. @Jillebjill, Welcome to the forum! I have Celiac Disease and Type Two Diabetes. I follow the Autoimmune Protocol Diet. Here's a good summary... https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/aip-diet-autoimmune-protocol-diet Yes, my glucose levels do go up if I eat carbohydrates, so I have to pay attention to portion size and frequency. ...
  12. @Maddie6332, Try, try again! I've had some recipe disasters, but keep trying and you'll get it right. Maybe cooking your pancakes at a higher temperature would help.
  13. Thanks, @cristiana! Just saw you were online and you always have such good input! I'm so glad you're increasing your Vitamin D. My Vitamin D was in the single digits. Once I started supplementing Vitamin D 3 capsules, I had the strangest craving to eat them like m&m's. My body knew what it wanted. So, I took lots of them throughout...
  14. Yes, definitely! Hyperemesis gravidarum can cause Thiamine deficiency! Wernicke's encephalopathy in hyperemesis gravidarum: A systematic review https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30889425/ And... 15. I believe a patent-able form of a niacin precursor is trying to be manufactured. It is not possible to patent a naturally occurring substance like vitamins, but it's possible to patent a synthetic form or in a delivery system form. NR is naturally present in foods like dairy. "Synthesis of Mixed Dinucleotides by Mechanochemistry" https...
  16. Of course, we care about you and your children! Our Celiac tribe is everywhere, including New Zealand! Several of your symptoms are indicative of nutritional deficiencies. Celiac Disease damages the small intestine where vitamins and minerals usually are absorbed. Not being able to absorb these micronutrients affects our health. There are eight...
  17. @Bobby123, One of my cats used to do the same thing, so I started keeping my toothbrush in a drawer.
  18. Did you have your pets at that time?
  19. @cnazrael89, Glad to hear you're doing well! Celiac malabsorption can cause copper deficiency. Elevated B6 and zinc are common in copper deficiency. They will normalize once the enzymes utilizing copper get into production again. Zinc is in denture cream and in zinc oxide used for Sun protection and diaper rash. Did you get a number...
  20. @dixonpete, Do you have any long haulers symptoms?
  21. Replace! Toothbrushes should be replaced every three months normally, and immediately after being sick and immediately after being glutened. Keep a few on hand for after glutennings and for guests. Some of us are sensitive enough to be glutened by kissing their gluten consuming partner.
  22. @Fairy92, Welcome to the forum! You're welcome to use the search function near the top of the page to search for things here on the forum. Google rabbit holes can be very deep indeed. These tests are specific to Celiac Disease so it looks like you're in the club! A weak positive is a positive. Examining biopsies from the parts of the...
