TinkerbellSwt replied to TrillumHunter's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I, also, rarely use bread. I make the bread usually for my son, who occasionally will have some. Otherwise, its breadcrumbs or croutons.. love them that way.. sooo good! Bread, even though I have found some good ones, we just arent interested in anymore. -

I have to agree, how cool!! My ex husbands brother had a friend, trying to make it in the movie business, started just like your daughter is, and now is a stand in (sometimes) for Ben Stiller in certain movies, I forget which and I am not calling the ex to find out! But still, way cool for your daughter!! wooohooo! -

ARCHIVED Feeling Terrible Again
TinkerbellSwt replied to confused's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It could just be a glutening. I am not sure, as I am not an expert, but I get those symptoms when I get glutened really good. Usually not just with cc, but a major cc, those are usually some of my symptoms.. I am sure others will chime in on this.. I guess if you really feel like it could be something else, it couldnt hurt to go to the doc either..... -
Congrats to both of you! Its a great feeling isnt it? You are not only accomplishing a lot, but feeling better to boot. We all have had setbacks, with cc especially, I am speaking for myself here, I have had my share, but even then, to know it will go away and I will be better.. that alone makes the cc a little more tolerable when in pain! Keep up...

I am also headed to Disney in October. When I booked my character dinner, we let them know right away at the time of the reservation that we had allergies to deal with. When we got there, it was marked right on our reservation card. No problems at all. But I would let them know ASAP.

TinkerbellSwt replied to little-c's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I get the dinner salad with the fried chicken on top, sans chicken. I stress to the waitress that no bread crumbs of any sort can come anywhere near my salad. The avacado ranch dressing is gluten free. I asked one day and the waiter brought out the tub that they get the dressing in (like costco size) it listed all ingredients and they are all safe. I... -

The actual recipe I dont know, but to make a proper Big Mac, the sauce must be on the top bun and the middle bun, onions and pickles on the top? I havent worked there in so long.. but to get fish in it? the way our store was set up, the fish and chicken mcnugget fryers were across the kitchen from the burger grill.. yes we used to grill the burgers fresh...

ARCHIVED Why Doesn't Heat Destroy Gluten?
TinkerbellSwt replied to little-c's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Wow! Thanks for starting this thread. I know what not to do, use, replace etc.. but the actual scientific end of it I would never understand. I feel like I know more now.. thanks so much. So a grill surface that is heated to burning off the remaining stuff, be it stuck chicken, burger, etc, is not enough to rid of the gluten.. even using easy off cleaner... -

TinkerbellSwt replied to dally099's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

When my son was transferred to a different hospital when he was born, the ambulance ride was $5000.00! thankfully our deductibles were already in place so that was fully covered. I had good insurance at the time Colin was born, however, his fathers insurance didnt kick in until July of the year he was born.. so we got stuck with my deductibles 750.00 each...

We just got slammed with a 1500.00 copay on synergis shots from my son from over a year ago. Apparently they are considered medical equipment? go figure, and we have to pay 10% of every shot.. each shot is about 1500.00, and they were pre cert, and no one told us we would have a copay.. I know we would have gotten the shots anyway.. but just another huge...
